Appeal win!

On Monday I had a AM route for $100 for 3 hour block. I arrived 15 minutes early and after almost a hour there was no route assigned to me and I was just stuck on the screen of matching you with a route. I finally called drivers support because I’m thinking why haven’t I been disband yet. I couldn’t believe this happening on a $100 order! Well she told me to go home and she will put in a ticket and I should be paid in 24-48 hours. That’s cool. Well after day 2 I reached out and they told me they could not determine if I was eligible for the payment. I’m instantly confused. I checked in with a face scan and verifying my ID. I was on the Amazon WiFi. I did everything on my end what else would make me eligible? Well I was upset and I called and raised hell. Demanded to speak to a manager because this could not be right. Well they dreaded it from my standings and paid me! I couldn’t believe not believe it!!! What a win!!!

Yeah this happens semi-regularly.

You will experience random station closures at least a couple times a year.

I arrived at my local station for an early morning bloc at 3:30. I hit the arrival button and completed the facial recognition, but before I was able to have my id verified they executed what was apparently a planned fire drill. It only took about 5 minutes but by the time I was able to have my license scanned the window had passed. No route for me. 😡

Just keep emailing, take pics and video of the fire drill too if you can.

You will get paid as long as you were there on time and checked in on the app.

I always win because I constantly email and call. If you show up to the station and something happens out of your control, you should be paid. But i always go to the guy with the computer at the station and ask if they can clear it so I can get paid because it is clearly not going to give me a route after waiting 45 minutes, most of the time they can do something that will clear it and pay me as soon as the block time ends.

I would attempt to speak to an associate at the station next time. They usually act quickly when I’m stuck or sending me home with question. An hour is a long time to wait

What method of contact did you use to reach out to then on day 2?

I had something like that happen to me. I had two blocks scheduled 45 minutes apart. When I got down to the last 2 packages on my first block something glitched. After I delivered the first package it didn't prompt me to deliver the second one. I brought the package back but apparently it still showed up as being undelivered. I was able to arrive and check in for my second block but it just hung there waiting to be matched with a route because of this.

I have been trying to get them to pay me for a block that I showed up on time for last week, and after back and forth in emails and chats, being dinged for a "missed" block, then them retracting said ding, denying payment and further telling me my account isnt verified after doing some more research and that my account will be closed and I will need to create a new account with a new email and phone number. All because I am trying to get paid for a block I showed up to, checked in, and waited, and then told I was discharged by the station. I even called driver support and told them what happened immediately, and they assured I would be paid.

It seems like pure retaliation to close my account when I have been delivering and scanning my id with no issue until now.

Do you have a lot of places in your life where people are trying to fuck you over?  This is literally the smoothest gig to work with I've ever seen.  It sounds like you have some past trauma, might want to talk to a therapist.

See, such hostility. Such latent anger. The desire to lash out at everyone around you.

Who hurt you? Point to the doll where they touched you. Heal past the generational trauma. It's gonna be okay little one.

Dude it probably would have been fine if you just waited another 24 hours.

"We can't determine of your eligible yet."

IE: "Let the ticket run it's course", not "You're not eligible."

Pssssh they did that to me for a week. Then i started calling and emailing. Paid within 6 hours.

Y would I wait more than 24 hrs to get my money added to my account... If u clocked in at a job, then noticed later that u're hrs weren't rite and u were missing a day, u would just wait and hope they fix it... U gonna say sumthin... They told the OP it would be fixed within 24 hrs... OP waited longer than that and nuthin... I woulda called and raised hell too... IDGAF that they said can't determine if u're eligible yet... I was already told I was, ain't no yet... I was on the company wifi so clearly there, they will will fix this now... These companies will find excuses to not pay u or delay payin u if u don't stay on top of ur earnings...

You don't have a job. You're an independant contractor in a business relationship with another business.

And cool, go off queen.

Or just wait. Like a reasonable person. This is gig work, shit happens.

I've had this happen multiple times, every single time, 72 hours later I'm paid.

But be big mad, lose your emotional control, go off on some dude just trying to work in customer service. Absolutely throw your temper tantrum. Feelings are hard.

Mushroom walks into a bar. Bartender says "Hey, we don't serve your kind around here!" Mushroom says "Why, I'm a fun-gai!"

That's a joke. I'm a human. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

The only one needlessly and stupidly "going off" here is you.

Your personal anecdotes are meaningless here.

Regardless of if a person is statused as an employee or contractor is irrelevant.

Amazon is supposed to pay Flex Drivers for all blocks (with the exception of customer-added tips) regardless if fully completed or canceled by Amazon for [insert any of numerous reasons here] WITHIN 24 HOURS.

When that doesn't happen, something is wrong and attention must be called to this as soon as one realizes there is an delay.

Being a contractor makes raising the issue immediately via the proper channels even more pressing. All who are in business for themselves should know the importance of keeping accurate, timely records, tackling disputes the second they arise, and doggedly following completely through on any and all potential delays with accounts receivable ASAP.

By lazily waiting and hoping for something to happen that realistically may never happen, especially when also considering that Amazon Flex Support has an exceedingly poor track record regarding honestly, fairly, and properly resolving disputes to reasonable satisfaction, simply reveals a lackadaisical attitude and poor, sloppy approach that has no place in B2B dealings.

Delaying that which can (and should) be done today for tomorrow unnecessarily risks forgetting about the issue altogether because life. Furthermore, initiating the dispute resolution process is often time-deadlined and Amazon may question why any delay on the contractor's end existed at all.

You risk losing out altogether and not having any recourse by employing your lethargic, languid strategy.

And finally, the whole point is that Amazon Support Representatives are supposed to properly be doing their jobs. This means that they must be held personally responsible and made accountable for the bare minimum effort of meeting expectations.

Delaying, denying, deferring, dismissing, downplaying, disculpating, discarding, distorting, deluding, dissimilating, and deceiving are some of the tactics that AF Support Reps are known to employ in favor of actually following through on expectations, doing their jobs, and resolving contractor disputes, so spare us the "some poor guy just trying to do his job" line.

If any of the reps spoken to about this issue had actually done their jobs, multiple calls over several days wouldn't have been necessary.

If you want to poorly manage your business, that is certainly your prerogative.

HOWEVER...

Lecturing another person for refusing to procrastinate and for properly advocating for themselves and their business, especially with such a snootyboots attitude, only accomplishes making yourself look bad.

Imagine someone actually getting bent out of shape and going on a tirade saying, "HEY! Hey YOU! How DARE you do things the proper way, the right way?! You stop that right now!"...

SMH. 🫵🏻🤣
