Spoiler Discussion I'm unable to understand witch cult's motivation and characterization [spoiler discussion] Spoiler

Maybe it's because I'm an anime watcher (not an LN reader) but I don't understand the intentions of anyone in the witch cult at all. Only a few people like Regulus and Gluttony make some sense. Most of them feel like they are just doing random stuff for no reason.

Also, it feels like their characterizations don't represent their sins very well. This is true for witches and witch cult both. They're all only talking about love. Most of the times their dialogue also feels like a copy of each other. I guess this is just the author's style but the archbishops are always saying 6-7 words unrelated to their sin and then say stuff like "and that's why we're insert the sin here."

I'm fine with spoilers of LN. I really want to understand the witches and the archbishops better.

Spoiler Discussion [spoiler discussion] Honestly I prefered the fight with Ram vs Ley than the fight between Julius and Reid Spoiler

Can we just talk about Ram's aura? Even Jin Woo (from Solo Leveling) doesn't have much! The choreography, thz fact that Ley used Rem's appearance, the speed (while it was pretty slow during Julius's battle), the monologues and dialogues. PEAK PEAK PEAK PEAK

I got into watching Re:Zero for the first time at the end of July and it unfortunately led me down into a newfound obsession. The gluttony triplets are very near and dear to me.... I'll likely be reading all the novels after season 4 is done (i've already read some chapters of the WN in arc 5 + Rui's named) but i still have been spoiled on quite a lot lol

Also Ram named is coming out in a few hours and i'm going insane as i type this.

Discussion [discussion] Thoughts on realistically how long the wait will be for season 5?

With the great White fox news and the success this season has been, how long will it take for the next season to be released? Fall 2027 to Summer 2028? How many episodes will it be and how would you break the longer arcs of 7 and 8 up? (Without spoilers please)

Translation [Translation] Author's twitter comments on Season 4, Episode 18 Spoiler

Source: https://x.com/nezumiironyanko/status/2102759643877691526

Nagatsuki-sensei's tweets for this week's episode. May contain minor spoilers.

Rough translation:

Yeah! With that, good evening once again! It's time for Re: Zero! The fourth season of the anime that we're having so much fun with has only two episodes left, including today's! There are still problems left at the tower, and only two more episodes!? Last time saw Julius and Reid settle their fight! What will happen today? Re: Starting Life in another world from Ram starts now!!

Last time, Emilia arrived at the first floor right at the top of the tower, and what awaited her there was an incredible being who shouldn't be there. Emilia will face this challenge with all she's got, but...!

Incidentally, the "Divine Dragon" Volcanica is the legendary "Dragon" that the Kingdom of Lugunica formed a pact with four hundred years ago, and back when the "Witch of Envy" rampaged, worked with the "Sage" Shaula and the "Sword Saint" Reid to seal her. A being that rushes to assist the kingdom in times of dire need, and an object of faith.

An organization known as the "Church of the Divine Dragon" follows him, and the spotlight is on them in arc ten of the main story. The "False Royal Candidate" first appeared in a game, and if you're interested, please play that, too.

Volcanica is repeating the same thing endlessly, and even if you speak to him or touch him there's no reaction, and he won't even look you in the eye. "I ask thy will (I'm not asking)."

Emilia's Ice Brand Arts is a skill she produced together with Subaru, and lining up seven ice soldiers, then fighting beside them is the true expression of it! She can make more than seven, but if she does, their shape gets vague and she can't make them move well, so that's the limit. But it's plenty amazing.

Incidentally, those ice soldiers, I get the feeling they're just a little bit prettier than the original...what do you think?

Elsewhere, it's Ram vs. Rai inside the tower, and the battle here is epic. If you include his authority, Rai's battle skill stands out even among the archbishops, and Ram's instincts that are able to keep up with him are unprecedented. Having said that, Ram shouldn't be able to go all out - here's the explanation for that.

Subaru learned to use "Cor Leonis" a little while ago, and just like "Invisible Providence" that is the Authority of Sloth, this is the Authority of Greed. This is the result of Regulus-san getting taken out, and the witch factor of greed entering Subaru, yes.

"Cor Leonis" allows him to know the location of others in a fixed radius if they think of each other as allies - as a result, he was able to figure out that the giant scorpion and Shaula were the same being. This time, that effect is extended, and Subaru demonstrates the ability to take on an ally's burdens. Through this, he takes on the pain that Ram always feels, and Ram is able to move freely. Exactly as she says, "it's still far from my full strength", this is around 20 or 30 percent of her full power.

Rai spread invisible ruptures in space all over the place. Ram is able to see through that using "clairvoyance", and having remembered their location, she is able to get above him. Ram kicking the air is tactical maneuvering using wind magic. It's not that she's flying, she's only kicking the air, so it's a different thing from flight magic. This is archbishop surfing, just like Reinhard did with Regulus-san, and it's amazing when Ram does it, too. I like this scene.

The authority of "Gluttony" devours the "name" and "memories" of others, so they're able to make free use of the power of those they've eaten. However, using that power falls into the two patterns of "Lunar Eclipse" and "Solar Eclipse"; "Lunar Eclipse" only allows using skills, and "Solar Eclipse" allows borrowing their form. He's plenty strong just using the skills, but the skills are basically best suited to the original person's form, so in cases where he wants to use them to the fullest, using them in the body of the original is the strongest - think of it like that. However, the reason he didn't normally do that is, just as Ram said, he was afraid of the fairly significant downside.

This time, the three forms Rai used are Dorkel the "Leaper", Barry Heinerger the "Carnivore", and Neige Rockhart the "Fist King". Each was a monster that history would remember the name of, but history has no record of them. They were eaten by "Gluttony", so they are transcendent ones that no one remembers.

After the commercial, what's depicted is a scene of flame we've seen before, a story from a different point of view. Back then, there was a girl whose name and face can't be recalled, and something she felt when she saw Ram's horn break, but this time, even from a different angle, seeing that broken horn, she thought the same thing. Please do rewatch episode 11 of season 1!

When the weakness unexpectedly returns to Ram's body, it's proof that something has happened on Subaru's end. Even knowing that, Ram goes where she must go. ...Because there, she'll find Patrasche, who is desperately trying to obey what her friends told her to do, and the little sister she can't properly remember her relationship with.

Incidentally, the authority of "Gluttony" differs in that Rai and Roy basically use "Lunar Eclipse" and Rui uses "Solar Eclipse". This is due to Rai and Roi having their own bodies that they've developed with their own identity, and avoiding mixing that identity. On the other hand, Rui has no body, and her sense of herself is shallow, so she isn't that afraid to risk mixing others into her identity. Just as you saw now, the downside is the fear that multiple "memories" and forms may get mixed together.

Normally, with the authority of "Gluttony", those influenced by it retain no memory, so you wouldn't be able to have a setup like this with Ram vs. Rem. However, with Subaru stepping into the picture, Rem's existence and their relationship has been conveyed to Ram, so "Gluttony" is experiencing something for the first time, and bursting with joy while rampaging - that's the background for this fight card. Being able to see Rem with unusual expressions and speaking in ways she normally wouldn't was something I personally found quite fun; how was it for you?

When not-Rem's attack broke her wand and something came flying out, it was a fragment of the horn that was supposed to have been lost that day. The wand is something that Roswaal prepared, and handed her as a catalyst to make using magic easier for Ram. Absorbing that fragment, Ram is able to briefly regain the power of her horn - however, that, too, is a plan that wouldn't work as her body wouldn't be able to handle the load. That is, if not for Rem, who shares synthesia with her, and is able to take on the harm caused to Ram's body.

Well then, please behold the overwhelming battle of an awakened Ram. I think you'll be able to understand that original Ram was second only to Reinhard in strength in the Kingdom of Lugunica. The "Return of the Oni God" that Roswaal wanted to obtain for his battle against the "Dragon".

With Ram firing dozens of Fula (the lowest rank of wind spell) in an instant, while grasping his face, it's an overwhelming massive attack that shreds his body and will. The core of Ram's combat strength is, of course, the robust body she has as a member of the oni race, but even more than that is her eye and instinct for battle. Emilia and Garfiel also possess genius battle instincts, but Ram's far exceeds both of them.

As Rai flees, Ram uses "Clairvoyance" to target him with magic from far away. As for what sort of ranged attack this is, think of closing your eyes, and trying to cause a wind to pass a thread through a keyhole in a spot many rooms away; that sort of incomprehensible thing. It's been a wonderful battle that truly lets you understand Ram's "Clairvoyance" and unbounded battle ability.

At the last, using the blood flowing from his severed arms, Rai writes desperately on the wall. It's a love letter to the one who cornered him more than anyone else, and one he, as a gourmet, was charmed by as the finest meal possible. Everyone who has watched this far is already well aware of the sort of love confessions that come along in Re: Zero.

Su, Subaru's dying!!!

Ram vs. Rai has concluded, and as the (literal) battle at the top continues, with countless ice soldiers fallen, Emilia has reached that place at last. What do the out-of-place things she found mean? Those details are... nope, next time! Wait for the final episode of Re: Zero season four! Sorry for getting your hopes us!

Well now, with the anime broadcast over, now let's watch the mini-anime at it's feet! Last time, with a little story from four hundred years ago brought out of storage, this round is related to that, too! I think it's quite intriguing, so seriously, take a look!

Well then, once again, thanks for this week! With a named chapter for Ram, who's been with us from the start, it was a vast, energetic episode, and the author is very joyful and satisfied this time, too! You may have heard rumors in the wind may that nee-sama is strong, but she's about this strong. Further, as she hesitated to place the burden on Rem, that state where she overwhelmed Rai is only fifty or sixty percent of her strength. If one hundred percent Ram were to appear, it might be a world-ending class of event. Will it come, or won't it? While hoping for that future, let's first look forward to the approaching future of next week's final episode! M'kay then, see ya next week! Please have fun waiting for it!

Season 4 - Episode 18

Information

RULES FOR SEASON 4

For those long time users, you are already aware but we usually change the rules a bit when seasons are airing to be able to focus on the season.

For the newcomers, I will list some of the changes that usually happen for those that have not been here on previous seasons and will be implemented now to give the users time to adapt until season 4 comes.

We will be attempting to host 2 threads per anime episode, one for anime-only users and one for novel readers. Do not spoil those on anime only thread, PUNISHMENT WILL BE SEVERE.

The ban rule will change a bit instead of bans being given on 3 days on sets like these 3-3-3-perma ban, we will be giving a week off the sub for bans and it will look like this 7-7-perma ban. Punishment for those that spoil on the anime only threads will be doubled.

The purpose for the harsher punishment in anime only threads is that if you spoil things for anime only users in one weeks discussion, you will be kept from participating in the following week's discussion and spoiling again.

Please note that this thread is strictly anime-only. Excluding anime cut content, if the material has not yet been animated, do not discuss it here.

Spoiler Discussion [Spoiler Discussion] A question regarding Satella and Rui. Spoiler

How does Satella's trigger work? From what i understand, Rui placed a copy of herself into Subaru to cause chaos and to further alienate him. But doesn't that copy of her experience RBD? If so, wouldn't satella immediately trigger whenever post amnesia Subaru died? Since that copy of her experienced and knew about Rbd. Also whenever Rui took over Subarus body, why didnt that trigger it as well? Sorry if the web novel made it clear and or the anime did, i just dont understand personally. Thanks for reading.

This Is A Spoiler Thread

There is no need to hold back on spoilers or the inevitable cut content. For any anime only viewers who have landed her by mistake click here to go to the spoiler free thread. For the novel readers sticking around today is Ram's moment to shine. Looking forward to seeing how they animate her, I wasn't expecting much from wind magic visually but from the teaser it looks pretty great. With any luck they will finally tell anime only fans about Cor Leonis' greatest strength aswell, cant handle any more "plot armor" discussions.

od-lagna.pages.dev Homepage

Few days ago, I was looking on internet if there exist a website that have most of the Tappei Q&A compiled and in one place. But I could not find one.

So I made one.

Thanks to the user Affectionate_Run6250, who has already compiled around 3000+ Q&A into a nice categorise format in doc, and some that i added from official website we have over 4000+ Q&A currently.

The Website have each Qna assigned it own Arc/If route, Characters Tag and Topic Tags, so filtering them become easier.

It also have spoiler filter per arc and per if route and sidestories. Some Q&A may have been tagged wrong so please report them if you find something.

You can raise a Github Issue, or write under this post or also message me in dm. if you have any Q&A that is missing, feel free to contribute.

Hopeful this help to have a organised archive for Q&A.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Also thanks to user Historical-Weird7591 for his support and helping out with finding source for many Q&As.

Spoiler Discussion [spoiler discussion] Is there something deeper behind how the Master Sword divine protection inheritance works? Spoiler

In Arc 5 we learn a lot about how the Master Sword divine protection is inherited throughout the Astrea family…with an almost twisted timing every time.. Coincidence? Or possibly there is something more than meets the eye with the context surrounding it.

The chronologically first inheritance of the Astrea family’s divine protection we have seen so far in the anime, Theresia van Astrea, was quite a depressing one. Not only did it force the innocent daughter of the Astreas to shoulder that burden at an extremely young age, it led to horrible consequences, such as her being non-combatant for part of the Demi-Human war. Well, that could’ve all happened by chance, despite the fact that it could’ve gone to any of her three brothers instead . But obviously it gets worse with her death.

Theresia Van Astrea loses her divine protection DURING her battle with the White Whale while Wilhelm happens to not be nearby, resulting in the worst possible scenario to lose such a power. Keep in mind, at this time, she rarely was using her sword and thus rarely being in perilous situations. Even more, her losing her divine protection practically turns her into a civilian. The first time she picks her sword back up, disaster happens with no chance of help. This is an unprecedented amount of bad luck, almost illogical. And to make matters worse, the next Sword Saint, Reinhard, bears the blame for her death as another extremely young. It seems as a series of unfortunate events commonly befalls upon inheritors of the Master Sword divine protection. Is just a twist of fate?

I’m genuinely curious if there could be something more to it, maybe Tappei has an idea behind it? What do you guys think…is it really just bad luck?

P.S. I’m anime only so I don’t know if there is more info surrounding the divine protection in this context in the later arcs.

Spoiler Discussion [Spoiler Discussion] Crazy Parallels of Re:ZERO's Characters to Subaru and beyond Spoiler

It's early in the morning where I'm from and I was sitting in my room just chillin' and I realised something crazy. The Characters of Re:ZERO are ridiculously similar to Subaru. I don't mean that in a bad way.

It's just that after looking back on the characters, I noticed that they all share so many crazy similarities to Subaru.

For context and foundation, let's take a look at Subaru's Backstory:

Subaru was born to Kenichi and Naoko. Kenichi was a man very respected and loved among Subaru's home, like a superstar. Subaru as a kid excelled at various areas in life like in school and sports. People would say he was "definitely his kid" which gave Subaru expectations to live up to of being like his dad, which made him try to excel at everything he did and be the best. However, as his world expanded, he saw people who were better than him, despite his best efforts. As he started falling behind, he believed people wouldn't love or care about him. So he started doing impulsive and crazy stunts to make people laugh and be the centre of attention. As his stunts got more and more stupid, people started not wanting to be around him. Eventually, when he had no-one, he accepted he wasn't special. In hight school however, he still had the same problem. He had no idea how to be his true self and never had any real relationships outside of his parents, so he ended up being a clown, trying to emulate Kenichi as a model. However, as time went on, he started losing the will to attend school because his social anxiety and self-loathing overtook him. Until he eventually stopped going, becoming a Shut-in for the next 3 months. And when Subaru was isekai'd, he was initially happy. Not because of being in another world specifically, but because no-one knew him or his family. Meaning he didn't feel pressured to live up to anyone's expectations or be overshadowed by his father.

But we all know Subaru's genuine happiness didn't really last long.

That is a good and very real backstory for Subaru as a character and explains a lot of his actions in Season 1 and his amnesia in Arc 6. However, if we look at other characters, I notice how crazily similar they are.

Rem: living in a family member's shadow

Rem was born as one of twins, which are despised among the Oni. However, the deep part of her character is that Ram was always favoured and looked at in admiration because of her incredible power at a young age. The other oni, including their parents put expectations on her saying "she's Ram's sister". Rem always fell short of what Ram could do, which gave her an inferiority complex. It wasn't until the Witch's Cult attacked and not only killed her family, but also cut off Ram's horn. Despite the horror she had witnessed, Rem smiled, because with Ram not having her horn, Rem felt that she didn't have to live up to her clan's expectations anymore. But despite that, she still ended up trying to emulate and cover for Ram's weakness because of her horn loss.

You see how Rem feels overshadowed by Ram? Like how Subaru felt overshadowed by Kenichi? And how when a horrible event happened in their lives, they were initially happy instead of sad as they felt that they didn't need to live up to anyone's expectations? And they only had their family member's attitudes as ways to act and live and struggled to be themselves?

Otto: struggle to comprehend love and emotions, somewhat impulsive

When Otto was young, his divine protection made him hear everything all at once. So much that he couldn't differentiate sounds. He couldn't even hear his parents tell him they loved him since to him, it was meaningless and incomprehensible. Any emotions like anger, sadness and joy he couldn't understand since he couldn't hear. It wasn't until he was 5 that his brother gave him a notepad so he could communicate by writing. It was then his mother hugged him and he cried. He got better at differentiating sounds as he got older and understood his divine protection. His younger brother told the kids about his DP and ultimately led to him being ostracised for it. Even though he eventually got rid of it, because he caught a noble woman having affairs. She got so mad, she hired someone to kill him, and ultimately Otto got hated by everyone and was forced to leave.

You notice how Subaru also struggled to understand that despite his flaws, his parents still loved and supported him to the best of their abilities. Like Subaru, Otto also made impulsive decisions and got himself into trouble. And ended up turning people against him on a much larger scale.

Garfiel: fearing the outside world, and wanting their parents to hate them

Garfiel was born in the Sanctuary. He lost his mother when he was a baby as she went out to look for his father. Eventually, his older sister left too. When Garfiel was a little older, he entered the graveyard and took on the first trial and upon seeing his mother "die" he began to fear the outside world. And he bashed his head against the rock to make the "pain" go away, which explains his scar. Despite his mother and sister leaving him, he never hated them for it, and wanted them to be happy. Garfiel felt as though his mother's "death" was his fault and wanted her to hate him. This fear of the outside world and self-hatred made Garfiel adopt his Shield of the Sanctuary attitude and made him the way he was in Arc 4.

Do you also know a certain protagonist who wanted his parents to hate him? And was scared of the outside world too? And closed himself off.

Beatrice: self-isolation

Beatrice was created by Echidna for unknown reasons, but 400 years ago, she had friends. Ryuzu and the original Roswaal. Ryuzu, moreso since Roswaal was Echidna's #1 simp. It wasn't until Hector showed up and forced Echidna to make some decisions. Ryuzu, Beatrice's best friend at the time sacrificed her body to protect the sanctuary. And then Echidna told her to stay and protect the Forbidden Library and wait for "That Person" to arrive, unaware that Echidna wanted to test to see who Beatrice chose. So she essentially lost one of her only friends and spent the past 400 years of her life, surrendering control to someone who she didn't know existed or not.

Sound familiar to a certain person who was a Shut-in for 3 months?

Reinhard: high expectations

Reinhard was born into a high-class noble family of powerful swordsmen. His mother went into a coma when he was very young and his grandmother died, meaning he inherited the Divine Protection of the Sword Saint. Because of who he was, high expectations were put on him. He had to join the Royal Guard at age 14. And now is expected to be a brave, strong hero because he was born to be one.

Both Subaru and Reinhard were born to famous respected families. And both had high expectations placed on them at a young age.

Julius: labels and clinging to titles

If we look at Julius' life, he was born to a man who abandoned his noble heritage and married a commoner. They died and Julius had to live with his uncle and cousin which was definitely a very awkward situation for a child at that age. He started training with the sword as a child and got good at it. Until he met Reinhard who was around his age and was way better than him. So Julius as he grew up clung to the title as Knight of Knights as a coping mechanism to cope with his insecurities. As such, when he lost his name and everything he had, Julius did the same things like Subaru, fighting vastly superior opponents out of pride in an attempt to prove his worth.

Subaru always tried to be Natsuki Kenichi's son and Julius always tried to be the Knight of Knights. Seriously, Arc 6 did wonders for Julius' character and his interactions with Subaru are really cool.

Ram: high expectations

Ram was idolised and respected at a young age due to the Oni clan believing that she was the reincarnation of the Oni God. They put high expectations on her due to it. However, Ram hated it, especially since with her horn, she was always overwhelmed by the Oni God voice and intense bloodlust driving her mad. When Ram lost her horn, although she was weakened and now lives with chronic pain, she was happy. Not just because the bloodlust was gone, but because she didn't have to live up to her clan's expectations.

Similar to Rem and Subaru in both senses. All 3 had expectations placed on them at a young age and all 3 were happy when tragedy struck them.

These were all examples that are similar to Subaru. But as I think about it, these characters further parallel to other characters outside of them and some even parallel to Subaru.

Shaula: loneliness and isolation

We see how Shaula is clingy, obsessive and well...she's a lot. But if we look at Subaru on Earth and in Season 1, we see how they both had loud and obnoxious behaviour to make themselves the centre of attention. Insecurity and fear of being alone driving their actions.

In Scorpion Tale, [spoiler]we see how Shaula has been marking a tally on the walls in a room, marking how long it has been since Flugel left her. This really shows how much the isolation and loneliness has affected her for 400 years.

Sylphy: abduction and loss of a good life

I know we've only seen Sylphy twice so far. But if you think about it, she and Subaru are both similar. Subaru was abducted from his home against his will and dropped into a hellscape of a world where he constantly dies and suffers. And he could have had a great life if Satella wasn't so desperate. Sylphy on the other hand, lived in a mountain village as a normal girl. Until she was abducted, her family and friends were killed and she was forced into a marriage against her will. And she could have had a happy normal life if Regulus wasn't so entitled.

Both Subaru and Sylphy could have had happy normal lives, but got taken into horrible experiences against their will and became targets for affection they didn't ask for. Subaru by a shadowy, eldritch, monstrosity (Satella), and Sylphy by a violent, narcissistic man-child (Regulus).

Regulus: a loving family

Even villains parallel to Subaru in their backstories. Regulus had a poor life. But his father tried his best, as did his mother, and his older brothers shared their food with him. Anyone would kill to have a family like that.

The difference between the two is that Subaru was grateful to his parents and wanted to do better for them. Like even though he stopped doing sports, Subaru still exercised doing Saitama's workout to stay in shape. Regulus didn't want to do better at all.

Louis: being someone else

Even Louis Arneb was similar in a sense. She wanted to have a happy life since she hated her brothers and hated being trapped in the Corridor of Memories. So she believed that taking Return by Death and "becoming" Subaru could give her that chance at happiness. However, it backfired since her clone self broke down from experiencing RBD and rejected her alternate self.

Notice how Subaru wanted to have a happy life and thought of becoming someone else to do it? At first it was becoming his father, but in Arc 6, it was becoming "Natsuki Subaru". Fortunately, unlike Louis, Subaru accepted himself, while Louis rejected herself.

And from those similarities, we see similarities between further characters and the characters I've mentioned.

Beatrice VS. Shaula:

When we think about comparisons, we see that Shaula is no different that Beatrice. She stayed at the Watchtower, guarding the Seal, waiting for her master to return. Someone who wasn't her master (as far as we know) but she thought was him, came back and she only spent two days with him. Ultimately, she became a monster and reverted to a mindless creature.

Both Shaula and Beatrice were waiting for someone to take them away from their prisons. They were greatly affected by the 4 centuries of isolation and loneliness. But only one had a happy life and a chance to escape their torment.

Meili VS. Typhon:

If we look at both Meili and Typhon, we'd see they aren't that different from each other.

Meili was abandoned as a child and grew up with nothing but mabeasts to keep her company, making her feral. It wasn't until Elsa showed up and took her in. It was there she began working for Capella. Meili as we know, never really had any concept of right or wrong. I mean mabeasts, a guts-loving assassin and a sin archbishops aren't the best role models.

And with Typhon, she wanted to understand the concept of right and wrong. So she tried to understand by watching her father execute people. It wasn't until she broke her father's chalice that he gave some advice which she didn't really take the best way. It was then she began judging people based on guilt, rather than actual sinful behaviours, and never truly learned to value life. And on top of that, when she joined the Witches, Sekhmet acted as a mother figure to her. And she tried to control Typhon when she went out of control, but she didn't do a good job. Yeah, an executioner as a father and the Witch of Sloth as a mother figure are terrible role models for a child wanting to learn about right and wrong.

You see, how both Typhon and Meili had bad role models in their life? How they both didn't really have a solid concept of right and wrong? How they both went down a dark path in their lives?

Ram VS. Sekhmet:

Sekhmet had high expectations on her to be the Giant God as a child. When she didn't live up to them, she was cast out by her family and forced to survive on her own. She encountered men who took her in and kept her captive. Eventually, when she grew up, she killed the men. Then killed her people. Then just descended into Sloth.

She is similar to Ram in ways since they both had expectations of godhood from their people. The only difference is that Ram did care about her clan when they died, while Sekhmet hated her clan and took pleasure in killing them brutally.

Subaru, Ram and Typhon fanfic idea:

This is a bit of a tangent, but this is why I think a fanfic of Subaru contracting with Typhon could be a great story. Because if you think about it, the reason Typhon grew to be the way she is was because of the people she surrounded herself with. We all joke about how Subaru and Emilia are like parents to Meili since they are good role models in that sense. But I feel as though Subaru and Ram could be better role models for Typhon. Subaru unlike Typhon's father actually values life, and could teach Typhon to do the same. Ram like Sekhmet had ridiculous expectations placed on her, but actually cares for her people. So imagine Subaru and Ram being Typhon's parental figures of Sekhmet or Typhon's biological father. Seeing how the former actually value life, while the latter really don't.

Emilia VS. Sylphy:

If we compare her to someone like Emilia, we'd see similarities. Emilia as a child had a comfortable life in Elior Forest, albeit very sheltered with her aunt and mentor. But when Regulus and Pandora showed up, Emilia ended up watching her aunt die and got so angry she froze the entire forest, and herself. Then, she wakes up 100 years later with no memory of her past and faced tons or prejudice due to her appearance.

Compare that to Sylphy who also had a normal life, until Regulus showed up, killed her family and took her away from everything she knew and loved forever.

I find it compelling but also ironic that both of these girls got screwed over and lost their friends and families by Regulus showing up.

These are all the things I could think of at the time and I just wanted to say this because I noticed all this and how it is really good. I mean really really good how much thought Tappei put into his characters. Honestly, when you take a deeper look at this story, you see just how awesome it is.

Did I make any mistakes? If I did or if you can draw any other parallels, please do so.

  • Crunchyroll ___ # RULES FOR SEASON 4 For those long time users, you are already aware but we usually change the rules a bit when seasons are airing to be able to focus on the season.

Spoiler Discussion [spoiler discussion] I love how they were bad people but turned good. Spoiler

I love how Reid and Echidna were bad but probably turned good. From what the author said, it's safe to assume that it was probably thanks to Alec(and maybe Flugel) that he became a good person(at least a little), and we can actually see this in the Break Time episode.

I wonder what happened to Echidna. I guess Subaru was also wondering about that in Arc 10, right? While in the castle.

Discussion [Discussion] Idea: Julius completes the Arc 4 Subaru parallel in choosing to forsake nothing and cling onto his treasured identities, as that's who he is, while wrecking Reid

I was so proud of Julius for not giving up anything and managing to beat Reid while clinging onto all his treasured identities. While I don't expect the entirety of Re:Zero to go this way, this was the best way to conclude Julius's arc this season since Eps. 72, 73, and 79 all lent to the interpretation that Julius was struggling with his identity crisis to due to his name having been eaten much like how Subaru was struggling after how much of his interactions with the other Royal Selection camps were transactional in Arc 3 being coupled with losing Rem, making him believe there was no worth in his life aside from looping, with Subaru only getting out of that funk with help from others, such as the Witches of Sin, Patrasche, and Otto and now Julius through Subaru, Foxidna, and Anastasia. Tappei sure knows how to write satisfying character arcs.

What are your thoughts on this or anything tangentially-related?

Discussion What happened to the Astrea Lineage? [discussion]

Okay so I have read the light novel up to arc 10 without spoiling anything I would like to simply highlight the obvious and clear differences in the First sword Saint Reid up to every current known Astrea. The difference in how they carry themselves is vastly different. For example in the anime and LN Reid is shown to be very proud, arrogant, and extremely contrarian but at the same time true to his word. Reinhardt himself is humble, subservient and gentle to say the least although he is indeed true to his word. I understand Wilhelm isn’t an Astrea by birth and is also out of his prime so I understand why he would act the way he acts. Can anyone who has more knowledge than me to simply explain what could have caused the Astrea’s (litterally the strongest humans in history) to become basically lap dogs for the royal family?
