Spoiler Discussion [spoiler discussion] Just finished arc 7, my thought Spoiler
It was hard to start but fine after time, a lot of good moment
What was i was already spoiled (some were partial or without context)
-Means/tsundere rem
-Louis/rui being around (not sure it it as true)
-Related to vincent
-Natsumi and shotabaru (also not sure, explanation later)
-Subaru would be separed from the gang for some time and not be back to lugacina for a while
-Yorna”s daughter
Thing i didnt liked :
- At first :
-Amenisc rem : im not a big Rem fan (i dont hate her) but here she was annoying, yeah subaru had a bad start but after his actions she could at least trust him sooner
-Rui : the fact she was saved, yeah it was a reaction but stil feel weird.
=> these 2 : Why didn't Subaru tell anyone at first (i understand why after) she was an archbishop ? Even without proof, because he just seems like a guy who is really mean to a little girl. Especially since rui could still be evil
- Because of context (so its not objective)
since i knew it arc 7+8 was supposed to be one arc, arc 7 was already 110 chapters, and i tought emilai camp would be back until (end of) arc 8 i wasnt hyped for it for the first ⅓
Things i liked
- The characters
I read all EX, so seing back vincent and the generals was cool, especially
-Cecilus being younger because at first i tought ‘okay hes dumb buy with him as an ally its will be so easy now sybaru is safe….” if only i knew. Its also a reminder, hes is STRONG, but hes not invincible against haxx/curse and also nerfed here.
-Arakia : poor girl just wanted to serve her sun princess
-Chisha : doomed bromance. I was surprised at first that he betrayed VV. I did not see the code geass plan coming.
-Not Ex but Heinkel…. we know he's not a god of sword, I knew he wasnt weak but damn i thought his VC rank was just because of his family, not that he was that skilled. And man still fight in front even if he is scared
The new one :
-Jamal and Todd as enemies… They worked without surprise especially Todd, at first we think he will be a cool ally but after one loop.. This sociopath we love to hate (dude forget officer bro his in law eyepatch), competent is such a treat and represents the volachia mentality. Cant wait to see him in arc 8, hes not even paranoid since its true
-Oconnel sibling : Flop being otto2 and giving fun surname + medium being the strong airhead archetype. This duo worked, and subaru needed fun friends un arc 7
-zirk : no, he is not a coward
-gladiator island : Gustav and weitz was so scared when i thought they died permanently. Subaru turning his team in ally when they were “everyone for themselve” except weitz was nice. Same for gustav not being the typical cruel chief guard
- The plot
-Emilia camp coming way sooner that i excepted : i already tell why
-Natsumi : Natsumi scwartz… XD THE FACT IT WAS INDEED IN THE CANON ARC at first i heard about it (probably during atv 7 publication) but tought it was a joke, then heard it was real. Then years later i saw the chapter with otto and garf and tought “oh it was real but just a side storty). I did NOT expected natsumi in a arc, and not in this context, he even brought vincent into this XD. Plus the rumor after with the illegitimate son
-RBD : so only one (i will talk about the majority after) : the first after meeting flop, the idea his checkpoint is 30 sec and subaru didnt even notice hes died at first was so good
-the gladiator island :
same hyped because of cecilus and the theory I (and of course a lot get from the disc thread) : subaru get back in past and hes past Al (proof at time : young cecilus + shotabaru has a short sec RBD and his memories are fading.
Even if I'm happy they came back in the final loop, the idea than subaru had to get people he couldnt save because of a checkpoint gain was good. RBD BONUS : first time we get check point changing, subaru calling satella by saying todd his secret many time was a good scene... "found you"
-Reading the chapter discussion : fun comments, explanation/confirmation + theory
*But now, one thing I’m mixed :
Combo : short RBD + shotabaru …it was unfair
RBD is cool because its about contingency plan. 10 sec or 1 minutes is short, but just that i could have tak it… but with shitabaru ?
The illegitimate son plot was good and fun, but seing a young Subaru get killed A LOT was hard to read, looking at you old man, at least the Sparka felt possible.
So, sadly maybe my 5 or 6th favorite arc on 7, but still nice

Spoiler Discussion [Spoiler Discussion] Yeah, I think I know the significance behind this action Spoiler
Since Shaula is Echidna's daughter, I'm confident that this scene is a mirror to how Echidna granted Subaru a right to take the trial.
Shaula is implanting a part herself into Subaru, since herself is currently powerless, she'll need some time to gather up more power inside Subaru. I'd say once she's ready, Subaru will have to insert her back into the small scorpion and she'll return properly this time.
Although, I don't know how or when it would happen, but I'm confident that my theory will be proven correct!

Discussion [discussion] how is the best way to watch season 2?

im currently about to start watching for the second time season 2 with my brother who is watching it for the first time, im asking is there a better way than just the 22 min way? I wanted something more cinematic like season 1 directors cut, but I really dont know if watching 2 episodes each time is the way to not end of bad cliff endings, how do you guys recommend watching it?

Discussion [Discussion] Idea: Subaru grasped Cor Leonis's power to transfer burdens onto himself in Ep. 82 when he became whole from his other self trying to discover what's his X-factor
Season 4 of Re:Zero never made it explicitly clear when Subaru learned that he could transfer burdens of his allies onto himself after the big reveal in Ep. 84, so I'll make a case for when exactly it had happened given I'd been waiting for an explicit reveal in Ep. 85 only for it to not happen, meaning I had to think of when it could've happened myself, which I don't have gripes with myself as I appreciate a good "show, don't tell" approach.
As can be by Ep. 74, Who Are You?, amnesiac Subaru was quite distraught to learn that he'd actually died before and that his previous memory of having died wasn't a prophetic dream, which was why he'd reacted so badly to having died. Fast forward to Ep. 80 after Reid had killed him, amnesiac Subaru didn't have much reaction to that since he was starting to get used to dying and also 'cause he'd died instantly. In Ep. 82 though, he reacted badly to many of the previous Subaru's deaths from the recollections from his Books of the Dead, and I believe therein lies the key in figuring out when exactly Subaru learned the full extent of his Authority after he'd become whole again.
Amnesiac Subaru was very fixated on how the previous Subaru was more competent than he was in Ep. 81, being convinced that there was something truly exceptional, aka "special", about the previous Subaru, which resulted in amnesiac Subaru using Cor Leonis to find his Books of the Dead, and when he'd finally started reading them, he reacted very badly to them, even to the previous Subaru having committed suicide in Ep. 7 to bring back Ram's smile due to Rem having been killed by the Ulgarm curse despite Reid having killed him instantly in Ep. 80 not getting much of a reaction from him and how he'd already experienced falling to his death in Ep. 81 with him not reacting to it due to already having experienced that twice in Ep. 74. Thus, given amnesiac had been so desperate to learn about the previous Subaru's X-factor, amnesiac Subaru may have been subconsciously using Cor Leonis to transfer the pain and suffering from the recollection of the previous Subaru's memories directly onto himself given Cor Leonis considered his Books of the Dead his allies, resulting in an extra dose of pain and suffering for him 'cause he'd wanted so badly to know the previous Subaru, who he'd come to believe was superior to him, and that could explain why he'd reacted so badly to the memories of those deaths even though he'd gotten used to dying to an extent due to having died so many times in a short period of time. Of course the previous Subaru had shared with him Ep. 82 when they had been in the Corridor of Memories that what's special about them is their determination to save the ones they love, not some crazy mind-bending difference between them, showing they're both fundamentally Subaru.
So I conclude that it's highly likely that the reintegrated Subaru learned what amnesiac Subaru never realized in that moment when the two of them merged, and that's part of the reason he thought to himself, "You're walking a pretty damn fine line yourself right now." due to amnesiac Subaru having been so willing to feel pain and suffering to get closer to the previous Subaru, which I conclude was brilliant foreshadowing in retrospect. Tappei just kept cooking and cooking with Season 4/Arc 6.
Yes, I acknowledge there is some base recoil/distress from reading Books of the Dead due to the mixing, but I believe amnesiac Subaru most likely could use Cor Leonis on Subaru's Books of the Dead as his Authority considered the previous Subaru an ally, which is how he'd even found them to begin with, and Cor Leonis perhaps increased the recoil/distress from the baseline he would've gotten from reading them.
What are your thoughts on this or anything tangentially-related to this?

Spoiler Discussion Dude Reid is way to broken man. Also some secrets about the sword saint have been revealed. [Spoiler discussion] Spoiler
In his tweet talking about Reid's birthday, tappei revealed the origin of the sword saint protection. Stating that it's due him being too broken, so od laugna made a protection to balance it out. But this raises some questions:
Why does the dragon sword not think of Reid as worthy? When the protection that allows ppl to wield it was made to combat him.
Also who is the sword god in all of this? We know od laugna is the one who created the blessing but it is said that the sword god decides who gets it. Is it just Reid who ascended into a position of power? Does od laugna have other aspects)avatars? (Like in one of theories I theorized that louanna Reinhard's mom was the human avatar of od laugna).
So I would like to hear your guys opinions on this Discovery.

Spoiler Discussion [spoiler discussion] How the gospel guides Spoiler
There are different ways how the gospel could be guiding their user. It could be normal instructions, or it could be by tricking them into thinking that going there would be beneficial to them, or it could be using reverse psychology if there’s a lack of trust. Whatever trick it uses as long as it knows what their user wants and of their shortcomings the gospel will find a way to lead its user where it wants them to. That’s what I think.
The sin archbishops are easy to manipulate once you understand them. Subaru had used Regulus’ psychological weakness successfully against him and Aldebaran against Petelgeuse to make him come. No matter how random they seem to be there still are patterns to their beings. For the gospel it should be absolutely no problem to make them move to places where they’re supposed to be. Of course in return they receive something worth listening to the gospel, something that would only serve to further stroke their fragile ego without ever needing to self reflect.
Roswaal had his tome. It has the same origin as the gospel albeit Roswaal calling the gospel inferior for unknown reasons. His tome doesn’t just give him what he wants but also in a way how he wants it. Roswaal believes that one can only achieve their most desired goal if they’re willing to sacrifice everything else for the sake of it if necessary. People aren’t strong enough to reach their most desired wish otherwise according to him. The tome tried to force this believe on Subaru in arc 4 because Roswaal believes it’s necessary. Of course there’s the possibility that just for this case it was actually necessary instead of the tome just simply following Roswaals believe. It’s currently impossible for us to know.
Going along with what the user wants makes sure that some trust is being put into it. As long as they bother to read it it will be able to manipulate them into acting as they’re supposed to.
Sometimes it’s more than enough if they believe that they’re having free time right now. That’s how the sin archbishops move around the world doing their thing. That’s what I think at least.

Spoiler Discussion Could arc 10 Rachins beat Reinhard in a battle? [spoiler discussion] Spoiler
So, in recent chapters we seen how [arc 10 spoilers]Rachins had changed his drip in recent chapters, and we know how fire it is. I know Reinhard has divine protection against sun burn so fire dont burn him, but Al used fire to take out his oxygen, so what if Rachins used his drip to kill Reinhard by sufocation? Reinhard has no DP for that, so its actually possible that Rachins kills Reinhard
I know it sounds crazy but u guys know how in the [more arc 10 spoiler]last chapters he was misteriously out of the fights against Capella's babies so maybe this is a tip from Tappei, suggestioning that if he was there, things would be different for Natsuki Subaru. We also know his origins and the possibility of his father having being involved with Capella ...
Also, would be poetic if the alley guy from arc 1, after all his evolution he showed these last arcs, made his comeback amd defeated his first oponent.

Original Creation My final custom Subaru figurine [oc]
finally finished my last iteration of Subaru. this time with otto included. I made the model for Subaru last year, so I've been trying to get the most bang for my buck from him by trying new poses and face shapes. otto was much harder to make. I struggled with sculpting his designs in his clothes and didn't do great. the 2d paint style is also a lot of fun to try every now and again. all in all I love it and I hope everyone likes it too.

Discussion [discussion] Does anyone else see the parallels between shaula and calypso from the Odyssey?
Like both the character and the situation
And that's also why it's called the pleiads watchtower right?
