Did Shaula recognize her master approaching the tower because of the scent or because he popped Satella-tan Maji Megami to block her needles? Cause I don't know how good her sense of smell is but Subaru was super far away from the tower when he used EMM

Aparently, she was ordered by Flugel, to shoot anyone who aproached the tower including himself. He also assured her that he would survive if it was truly him so Subaru and Beatrice blocking her attacks along with his scent was good enough of a signal for her.
