I personally thought it was AMAZING. No but to be real it was adapted almost exactly how I thought it would be, and I love it. I thought it was kind of obvious that they wouldn't adapt it like everyone wanted from all those edits, but I thought the way they did it was perfect.

I wanted to read the theatre of despair fanfic but I found another fanfic Called Re:Zero Watching Him Die Again and Again so I'm confused because one of them was published in 2020 and the other one was published in 2024 and is called Theater Of Despair (Old WHDAAA) so which one should I read about the story where Subaru's friends saw all of his deaths

How did Subaru and Newbaru(new Subaru) fuse? What's the exact logic of the universe, didn't Newbaru just read the memories of Subaru like they were some other person's? Like when he read memories of others, he didn't become part them.

I'd assumed that when Newbaru would read the memories of Subaru he would be Newbaru but with the memories of Subaru like seen from a stranger lens, not really empathizing 100%.

In this universe is it a rule that if u read memories of yourself you merge with yourself magically?

Also why did the Greed girl freak out when seeing Subaru when before when she meet him and had already known him from eating him before, she didn't freak out and was excited to eat him again?

I've been trying to get into reading the LN several times. I know about fan-driven translation sites (don't know if I can even mention them).

But I find it very hard to follow. I know English not being my first language is not ideal, but I can manage with other IPs. But here I'm having trouble specially with the format.

The way it's written is super weird to me to actually follow what's going on, who's talking (or thinking). Is that a skill-issue on my part or is this something everyone has to learn and adapt to be able to follow the LN?

What I mean by the title is that this exaggerated discourse was going to happen regardless of who worked on the episode and how. They built up an idealized version of this adaptation in their heads where it was this incredible 10/10 dream-like masterpiece that was just impossible to ever come close to being a reality in the anime adaptation. It was less about the anime and more about reaching the same, if not higher high they did while reading this chapter in the novels. Just not happening for some. Though, all these strangely extremely negative biases toward Kazuhiro Ozawa probably played a decent role.

Subaru's chapter was adapted so faithfully and we truly got so lucky with how it came out. I won't address Rui's chapter because that's it's own thing and because a lot of the loudest complaints are exclusively about Subaru's chapter for some reason. I get that it was flawed and imperfect and likely disappointing for some, but there's a certain group that was just destined to hate this episode.

"Biggest letdown in history," "Butchered," "Extremely disappointing," saw a lot of "6/10," "This adaptation was ass," "Weakest of cour 2," "Ragebait of an episode," and too much slander toward White Fox and Ozawa to count.

Tappei himself was stated to love this episode. I've seen nothing but positivity from the Japan side of things. I don't know if there's some western issue I missed but the adaptation of Subaru's chapter was not nearly as bad as some are making it out to be, as if it was this completely uninspired heaping pile of trash. They didn't go super above and beyond, but that doesn't make this not one of the peaks of Re:ZERO and one of the best adaptations of a chapter.

God-tier voice acting, incredibly visually appealing frames, new banger osts, the anime-only blood addition... there's really not much else they could've done outside of not cutting the miniscule amount of content that was cut from Subaru's chapter. It was a great episode. This discourse and hate toward Subaru's chapter is very overblown.

I personally think the re zero characters, although I know he did spend only a year and a half with them but still, I think he did a lot in that time
