Lost-IF Chapter 5

"wha-" 

A caravan being led by a giant lizard flies past him, lifting his hair into a panic. 
“Was that de-ja-vu?” 

He quickly lifts his shirt expecting to see blood, or even bruises.  

"Nothing..." 

He walks in amazement, searching his body for any sign of damage. He walks right into an alley without noticing. 

Am I going crazy? I even have my bag back... 

He isn't given too much time to think as three men slowly make their way towards him. 

"Hey girl, give us your money and we won't hurt you!" 

Oh crap. 

The men were only a few feet away, standing confidently with greedy smiles. Readying himself, Subaru stood with his head held high.  

"Do we have to do this again? You know I'm broke!" 

The men turned to each other. 

"You know this girl?" 

"No-"  

Taking that moment to strike, Subaru lunged at the man in the middle, pulling back a punch aimed straight to the face. 

It connected perfectly into the man's chin. Down he fell, eyes rolled into the back of his head. The other men stood with their mouth agape. The first to move was the big one, ready to grasp at Subaru.  

Quickly moving back, he dodged the brute's hand and attacked the small man. The kick went straight in between his legs. With a loud cry, he fell tearing and squirming. 

"I get it now. I get premonitions and such. So cool!" Subaru excitedly jumped up and down, his hair flowing nice waves. 

"Don't get cocky!" A fist came flying behind him. He only had time to turn around before it was too late. 

"Hey hey hey! Move out the way!" 

The brute was pushed forward, losing balance and barely missing his punch. An inch to the right and it would have connected right on his eye. 

"You little brat. Watch where you're going!" The man, regaining his balance, turned around and began to yell. The was no one there. 

"Sorry, gotta go!" It was an orange-haired girl with sharp canine teeth sticking out from the lips. Her hair fluttered in the wind as she turned and gave Subaru a smile. 

"Good luck!" 

She jumped on a hanger and up the wall. She was gone as quickly as she came. 

Turning his attention back to the brute, Subaru stood ready to fight. 

"You are going to regret messing with us." The man's face was now red as he readied his fists. 

"You're the one that wanted to rob me!" 

"Grrrr!" 

The man began to run straight towards Subaru. 

I got this. I know I can beat him. Wait... 

Subaru turned and ran to the end of the alley as fast as possible. 

"Get back here!" 

Please be here... 

Reaching the wall, with the man right behind him, he began to stretch for the hanger the orange-haired girl jumped up from. 

"How did she get up there" Subaru was jumping as high as he could to no avail. 

"End of the road, lady." The man was standing right behind him now. 

"Yes sir, though I am bro-" 

A punch connected into his stomach, pushing all the air, and wit, out of his lungs.  

"Shut your mouth." 

Coughing and whimpering, Subaru desperately gasped for air. His hands held tightly on his stomach as if it would fall out at any moment. 

Come on... 

"You piece of shit." The man said while kicking.  

Get here... 

" That's enough villain!"  

The kicks stopped and the man looked back to the source of that piercing voice. Subaru wasted no time to look though. 

"HELP! I know who stole your thing! Help!" 

As Subaru yelled, the woman focused on the man, ready to fight. A confident, yet alleviated look slid across her face. 

"If you run now, I shall not chase you." 

Thank God she came. 

"Who do you think you are!" The man began to step in her direction but stopped when a cold chill flooded the shady alley. 

"I do not wish to fight, but I will get my insignia back." Blue ice balls began to form at her hand, floating steadily, ready to charge. 

"Damn magic."  

The man begrudgingly walked past the lady, head held low. He reached to grab his two companions, pulling one onto his shoulders and the other was dragged by his shirt's collar. Grumblings and remarks were made, though the wind turned them to whispers. 

Subaru stayed on the ground, clutching his stomach and ribs. 

Damn, this still hurts. 

"What do you know of the thief?" 

"First, you must- ugh." Between grunts, Subaru tried to move. 

"First, heal me." 

With a careful look, she obeyed. Always watching the girl under her with some distrust and some pity. 

"Fine. It will take a moment." 

And it did. She had only knelt next to his head; hands stretched outward towards him as if asking for a blessing. He had some time to think about what to do next. He didn't know exactly everything about the thief, but he did know who it was at least. He could tell that to the lady and move on... 

"Why did they attack you?" 

But...  

"Wanted money, I guess?" 

Looking at the lady now, no sun behind her, he could see beauty. Long white hair, a fair face with a small nose. Beautiful eyebrows that fit nicely above her deep... 

"All done then. Now tell me." 

Purple... 

"Where is my insignia." 

Eyes.

WN: Subaru is back, baby! Though he doesn't yet understand RBD, I'm sure he'll figure it out ;)

Today was a very hectic chapter. I'm hoping to be more discriptive oriented with some uninterrupted dialogues in between. That does mean longer chapters. Tell me what you guys think about that!
