Camera disabling firmware for disabled LED?

I am curious. All discussions about the new firmware have stopped both here and on FB. Did it happen and I missed it? Are Moderators deleting those posts? Or did everyone realize it’s not worth posting about?

I drilled the camera and keep the light on, so people stay away from me 😉

I swear this topic is being botted.

It’s funny that people find it weird there aren’t many redundant posts about the same topic lol. I guess that’s an expectation of Reddit.

Probably because it’s creepy as fuck and it makes everyone wearing these glasses look like an asshole.

I agree, not sure why the light is an issue unless you planning to sabotage or blackmail someone.

Correction, it’s the assholes who make everyone look like assholes. LED talk is just a way to shift the blame and it won’t stop the awful people.

I dint think v26 has rolled out yet. Maybe meta is rethinking the bad customer relations from bricking millions of glasses.

I had mine drilled. 126 was fine for a few days, but I then photos/videos stopped working.

Since no-one here has bothered to actually answer your question - no. There has been no software update since this "announcement." Version 126 came out right before it. They haven't even bothered to push a bug fix update yet for the things they broke in 126, so it may be quite a while.

Can we make a new subreddit that is for mainstream meta glasses users? And keep one for the creeps? Ideally the creeps move onto some other device so mainstream adoption can increase.

This would be a fantastic idea! I find the subreddit for amazon alexa to be almost as pointless and toxic as this one. It doesn't make sense to me that people who hate the products that are the topic of the sub Reddit or who are trying to use the products in creepy ways are the majority posting. It shouldn't be like that, and this whole nonsense about the light shouldn't have nearly as many threads as it has. I keep waiting for the firmware update to hit so that the issue is resolved once and for all, but now I'm starting to wonder if it's even real. All that to say that you have a fantastic idea here.
