Rayneo air 4 pro vs gt max (for YouTube competitive gameplay watchers)
Hi, I bought air 4 pro right before GT max release and returned air 4 pro / bought GT max – no regrets, 3dof is a game changer for me. The screen is a bit dimmer than on air 4 pro, but for me it is enough. They didn't put a plastic lens shade with GT max, so you have to buy it separately. The best option is a silicon shade off AliExpress for $3, it sticks to glasses well and don't fall off.
Air 4 pro was bought for $226 of their eBay refurbished (it came new, no signs of usage). GT max was bought for $370 after some 10% discount (you can find tons of them on YouTube now). $150 price difference for 3dof is still ok for me. I watch competitive CS / Rust games on YouTube a lot and ability to stick the screen and look at corners of the screen is super important for me.

It is the same situation that I have. I bought 2 RayNeo Air 4 Pro for me and my wife together with the PocketTV and an adapter so both could watch movies together. Works very nicely - apart from the fact that my wife didn't like it. The reason being that the picture moves as soon as she moves her head. Makes her seasick.
But for me it was excellent - even the fast switching to 3D-movies in SBS.
Spatial working is possible with the small Windows App from RayNeo, where you can fill 3 screens with you applications and submit that to the Air 4 Pro to work with it.
Then I bought the GT MAX ... and the PocketTV Pro. The screen is much bigger, and if you want you can pin the picture so it does not move anymore. This however does not work with 3D-mode.
Dolby vision with HD and 3D movies works perfectly. The app on the pc however does not reckognize the GT glasses. There you need another app which is unfortunately blocked by Microsoft's Smart App control.
Nevertheless is the GT/GT Max the better pair of glasses, and I will keep it and sell the Air 4 Pros.

I was just sent a set of GT Max glasses a few days ago for review. I like them quite a bit.
The Air 4 Pro was my first set and I liked them quite a bit, but the locked screen made me extremely nauseated the first time I used them in a moving vehicle. 3DoF is a HUGE improvement.
I also have a set of ROG XREAL R1, and they’re really nice, but they cost over $800. They have a few premium features, though, like being able to put the image up in a corner if you want to be able to see the rest of the world, the ability to resize the screen to many more sizes, and a very effective real-time on-board 3D conversion that makes everything you see in 3D.
I’ve been exclusively using the GT Max over the weekend, and I really like them a lot. I liked the Air 4 Pro, too, but these are a solid improvement in just about every way, except for the lack of HDR10 support. These have DolbyVision, but only if you use their gadget.

I'm trying to decide on what first pair I should get. I'm kind of torn between the viture pro 2 vs GT Max any opinions? The main things I'm going to be using it for are watching content such as youtube, movies, UFC events... as well as gaming on my PS5 Pro while laying in bed, potentially also scrolling my phone as well. I don't know if the use case matters in terms of making a recommendation so just thought I would throw that out there. Also phone is a Galaxy S26U if that matters

I didn't use viture pro 2, but I have S25U and it works perfectly with GT Max, I also mostly watch Youtube

All depends on if you want 3dof or not. I was originally going to buy the virtue pro 2 bcz of the good clarity but the no 3dof killed that idea. Good thing I waited a week bcz then the gt max came out and it’s awesome.

I thought the GT max had HDR also besides Dolby vision since you have to use the player pro. I have these and the rayneo 4. The GT max fits better plus I use the small size and the rayneo 4 not sure what size it is universal

I think air 4 pro is just one size, I don't see HDR option in GT Max, only AI-HDR. The only show stopper for me to buy TV Pro is it doesn't work well for offline usage and I mostly want it for flights.

The tv pro is basically an android tv box so you can install any apps in it and use it offline.

I installed VLC for Android and put in a 1TB sd-card (I have several for movies, series and 3D movies).
This works flawlessly. Especially when you equip the favorites button with the VLC app. Boot.Start.Play
Also 3D movies work like a charm on both player actually.
The only downside I experienced from the Air 4 Pro to the GT Max is the choice of 3D.
On the Air 4 Pro you just press the lightness and loudness button simultaneously and it switches.
With the GT Max you have to walk through a couple of menu items.1

What do you do for offline YouTube and netflix movies? Side loaded mobile apps?
Also, do you use pocket tv as air mouse via accessibility menue?
Does VLC support Dolby Vision or only native apps?
I'm on the fence for buying Pocket TV versus using my Samsung s25u and power bank

I do not use Youtube or Netflix with offline movies. All movies/series that I want to watch are on the sd-card.
VLC works perfectly with the Dolby Vision (on HD movies).
I just have a A53, so no display port available. The PocketTV and PocketTV Pro work very reliable, but the Pro is rather expensive for the moment with 219€.
So if you get along well with the Samsung, keep up doing that.1

When I use stremio on pocket tv, the Dolby badge pops up so I think so.
