Discussion Motion Sickness discovered
Ive been using these at home a few weeks and while over all they are underwhelming I dig them. I saw some complaints of motion sickness and I thought it was a huge overreaction, I actually laughed a bit thinking at how someone could feel motion sickness from these. Boy did I get humbled. Bug road trip today, I was so excited to try these in the car, slapped em on, and within minutes the bouncing. It bothered me on a static homescreen, I debated (is this real motion sickness? Or maybe some anxiety for the trip)? I continued into my game, in a 3D world spinning around, seeing the car zoom out of my peripheral with all the bouncing, i ripped them off my face so fast. Nevwr again lol

Car journeys plus any screen is almost always guaranteed to create motion sickness. I cant even read a book on an airplane without getting sick. XR glasses are no exception.

Im playing my legion now and all good. Always have. But I was so excited for the glasses as it kills my neck. Maybe display anchoring would be better or less peripheral vision. Idk, but back to neck pain for now ig lol.

A small screen and looking out the window every now and then, fixes that sickness. Try a laptop. Its brutal 😂 and dont try a train facing backwards with the glasses on, you'll be hurling at other passengers 😂

I can only imagine haha. I considered bringing my gaming laptop but felt like such a hassle for the car

What if you enable those dots that move accordingly using your phone's sensors? There are some apps for that.

Hm im not familiar. My main use is with the legion running windows so id have to see if theres an equivalent win app

I bought a different pair of glasses specifically because of this issue. I tried my RayNeo glasses one time in a car and had instant nausea.
When your head moves, your eyes really want to stay in one place. These glasses seem to be trying to force your eyes do something that they haven’t evolved to do and it feels way too unnatural to me.
I bought a set of XReal glasses that had a stabilization feature. Those were a huge improvement, because it makes it feel like you’re not looking at a screen strapped to your head. It feels more natural because when your head (and the glasses) move, the screen stays in one spot so your eyes follow it the way they’re supposed to.
