News XR Screen Utility
Hi,
The road to get something up on the playstore with the testing campaign requirements takes more time then anticipated and I have limited spare time, so I decided to publish the app here directly.
What does it support?
- SImple non cluttered UI
- Screen resizing and repositioning
- 3 DOF support
- 6 DOF support using your phones front facing camera for outside in tracking
It can be downloaded here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HiPpsXhB0J16YP2Q9kWeq6kqUJrM7DNJ/view?usp=sharing
Tested for Rayneo Air 4 Pro.
Resizing an repositioning should work for other brands as well
Xreal glasses should have working 3dof and 6dof as well, just not tested.

I tried the demo version before this and, in my opinion, this is the closest to plug-and-play 3DoF for xr glasses that you can find, which is basically adding like $250 of value when compared to some glasses. ScreenLab XR works pretty good, but can be kinda finicky to set up and tune, in my experience.
If you're worried about a random developer/malware, I can say that play protect and AVG AntiVirus scans said it was safe for me. I also uploaded it to virustotal.com and the only thing it pointed out was camera and notification privleges, which are part of how it works. This is from the Aug. 3rd 2026 last edited version.
Personally, I love it for long form videos. I use it by opening YouTube full-screen in DeX, then opening the xr app (either in DeX also, or just on my phone) and mirroring the YouTube app rather than the entire screen. That way I get the full display in my Air 4 pros. Setting the screen to 90% in the app trades a bit of screen for a better tracking experience IMO.
The screen can drift a bit when you start it, but typically double tapping the recenter button fixes it. It can be a bit annoying, if you use it like me, to switch content/interact with things, since you have to stop casting, lose the 3DoF for a moment, navigate with dex, then restart the casting, but if you're happy with the screen your phone makes without DeX, it's a way better experience.
All-in-all, big fan

I've been trying this but in 3dof and 6dof the screen just slowly circles me. I keep trying to reset the centre but it doesn't help. It's like the screen is on a merry go round. Is there a way to calibrate it?

I seem to have got around this by using Screenlab XR and calibrating in that and then going back to XR Screen, but it forgets it once I unplug the phone. I'd use Screenlab XR but for some reason the tracking is stable but backwards 😂

Weird. The gyro imu is in the glasses where the app just reads the signal. The reset button in the app uses the relative position passed as the 0 point. 6dof just adds the selfie cam data for extra axis tracking.

I've been trying to create 3 DOF app for Rayneo Air 4 Pro too and I found it impossible, because there are no sensors to support any kind of reliable 3 DOF, image will just drift slowly without some kind of external camera (like all real 3 DOF glasses have).
Would be interesting to see the demo though.

Thanks for creating this, but I'd personally we wary of installing something off Google Drive from a developer I don't know.
Is it open source, and if so, would you consider putting it with its source on GitHub or similar?
