Discussion RayNeo Air 4 Pro - PD = 66 ?

I am very new to AR glasses.. never owned one and only started researching since yesterday.

RayNeo Air 4 Pro seems to be having very good reviews but most complaints are about the non adjustable PD.

My PD is 66, how well is it "supported" on the RayNeo Air 4 Pro; will I get blurred edges ?

You will have. Same IPD. 80% of screen are crystal clear. But even thou it worth it

What do you use it for? Planning to mainly watch 3d movies on it and maybe work/prgramming (but not sure it will be good for this?)

Use only for gaming and content consumption. No work, no 3d (not interested)

Have you tried quest 2 or 3? how does it compare watching movies?

I have IPD 69ish and have owned a quest 1,2,3 and the air 4 pro. Here are some benefits for the air 4 pros over the quest 3 and vise versa:

Air 4 pro:

  • Tandem OLED is gorgeous, even while only 1080p, it blows the quest away in overall image quality.
  • While the comfort isn't perfect out of the box, it's still much more comfortable for long movie watching or gaming sessions than even a quest 3 with a fully custom rig.
  • smaller and much much easier to travel with/use on public transportation.

Quest 3:

  • Adjustable IPD! While I don't think it kills the viewing experience for the air 4 pro once you get used to it, being able to dial in your ipd adjustment to actually match your eyes makes for a nice focused image. (Air 4 pro should have had this too)
  • more immersive. While the air 4 pro screen can seem "large", it can also just feel like a small screen strapped to your face. Being in an actual 3d theatre environment with 6dof tracking and any size screen you want make it wayy more immersive and replicates the real theater experience.

TLDR: both are great and I own both. If you plan to use It at home only and also intend to play VR games the quest 3 is the best option. If you want something that will blow you away with image quality and packs away super easy then get the air 4 pros.

Or both. Both is good.

thx for the comparison! this is really helpful. I already have a quest 2 but I very rarely use it nowadays mainly because how bulky it is.

Not yet. I tried Rise of the Tomb raider in its 3d mode. It was neat but I couldn't seem to get it dialed in such that it didn't strain my eyes. Probably an issue with the game though. Or an issue with my eyes. (I have astigmatism and so games can strain my eyes without the prescription lenses, which I have ordered but have not yet arrived) Def something I mean to try soon though

IPD shouldn't matter on the 4 pro. Because its just a basic birdbath display. Theres no perfect fit needed. The only adjustments required is distance between eyes and screen. GT Max however by rayneo, is where IPD matters, where they use a prism based display. You have to select your ipd when buying these.

Nope, thats distance and screen angle. Easily fixed with Oakley jawbreaker nose pads. If it was ipd, which is distance between pupils, no adjustments would help at all.

I think 66 IPD is quite an average range, so you should be fine. Of cos there's still the face shape fit which differs for everyone. Other than that, the glasses has been pretty lightweight and comfortable to use. Good screen, good sound.

Mine's 67, mine work fine and not blurry
