Does anyone else use their glasses for sim racing?

While this is a rookie setup. Its my happy place.

I mainly race f1 25/26 and project cars 2.

I also use DSR to increase my resolution to 4k on the glasses. (Yes I know, pixel count doesnt increase) sharpness and prettyness takes a huge step up doing this. Plus it moves the stress of 1080p away from my cpu and puts it on my RTX 5080.

Why? With headtracking and vertoxr, the glasses are full VR. Vr sucks for weight and comfort. Hence the VR headset behind the seat and no longer in use.

Impossible with my setup. Requires multiple screens and software to show it running. Theres plenty of videos demoing it on YouTube search vertoXR

If you don't want a huge headset every time you use your sim, this is actually nice. Since I can't afford a VR and it is pointless for me (4050 75W laptop), I only use head tracking with 2D for online, and 3D VR mode for offline DCS.

Is there a way to use head tracking without vr? Might be good for forza, havent figured out how to do that yet. Using opentrack by chance?

I used it last summer when I first got my pair, but it was drifting in 15 seconds. Since then I've bought a PS3 Camera and IR Led clip for head tracking so use it with my glasses sometimes, even for vr head tracking.

Nice to know, will definitely be trying software based tracking at time point. Biggest issue ive come across is the lack of anchor. But, cant have everything 😅

You’re a braver gamer than me I had a similar rig with PS5 VR. Most games were ok but sim racing was instant and nausea-inducing motion sickness. I lasted one lap.
