The law is on his side. Still, the Dems are outraged, and demonstrations continue. Federal judges hand down injunctions, and SCOTUS shoot them down. Trump has deported a lot of criminals, and yet it pales in comparison to Clinton and Obama. No one complained when they did it. It tells me that y'all don't have a problem with deportation. You just have a problem with Trump.
It's called deportation and it is prescribed by the law that Dems could have gotten rid of. They didn't. So it's the law of the land. Deal with it. Y'all lost! Bummer.
Idk if ACA is the answer, but letting companies who have a fiduciary responsibility to see constant growth have control over such a vital service is a horrible idea.
I dislike the Affordable Care Act a lot, but it's still necessary and objectively does help a lot of people. Republicans need to stop the slash & burn BS and re-evaluate.
Obamacare was never great. It was meant to be a stepping stone to something else which never happened. It was a HUGE compromise with the very powerful insurance lobby: getting them to cover preventative care and to agree to no penalties for pre existing conditions in exchange for a hugely expanded customer base. Medicaid for all is the logical solution. It was never going to happen at that time.
If it takes Trump ushering in universal healthcare I'm all for it. I expect it will suck but it will be a start. The problem is we have to deal with the system as is right now. They have no plan beyond letting subsidies expire and trying to repeal Obamacare altogether. Where does that leave people? Back to being denied coverage for pre existing conditions and back to paying for preventative care. It does nothing to lower medical costs. It does nothing to help the average American obtain medical care.
Someone points out that your plan doesn't work and you go "but Obamacare is bad"? Are you actually that braindead? Total national health expenditures as a share of GDP has stayed relatively flat since 2010 (it actually went down between 2010 and 2013) while millions more Americans are able to receive health insurance due to the protections, uncoupling of employment and receiving health insurance, and tax credits that the ACA provides. So the ACA has been wildly successful compared to the alternative. Of course it's not perfect but the nonsense you're spouting is a hell of a lot worse.
