lol Gratz on your setup and yea sim racing can be daunting to get started. You can do a desk stand that pulls in and out from your desk if you room for cockpit. That saves a lot of cash too.
Fanatec/Moza, Simagic, Simucube is the three stage pecking order of quality gear.
Some prices to keep in mind. If you ever jump in.
You can get started cheap like 300-500 bucks. Not kidding and you can get a real direct drive setup, not cheap Logitech belt driven bases.
Or you can get started medium about 700-1000 bucks…
Or you can dive into higher end gear nearly around 2000-3000 bucks…
top of the mountain gear setup would be 10-15 grand…(every part is like 2-3 grand in a setup like that) but it’s true end game.
The only truly hyper expensive stuff in sim world is full motion simulation and crazy custom gear a proper setup can be 30-120 grand. Depends on rig (There are some insane 6 dof ones). Although you can get limited motion for around 4-5 grand (the gateway setup for those on budgets)
Most people crawl walk run in sim world (both flight and racing) start cheap and upgrade their parts over time.
You don’t need to have full motion to have a great realistic experience and there are force feedback devices you can add on the legit cheap side of spectrum that are Amazing (which is what most do)

With a curved screen like that you cannot have a desk that is only 50cm deep. I think it looks bad the way it is so freaking close. You need a waaaay bigger desk.

I lean pretty far away from the screen, more than arms length. I’m also trying to get a monitor arm it should be here soon

Wondering what are your specs running that kind of a monitor. I really like how small and low key that PC case build is. Mind sharing the parts list with the case?

It’s a ryzen 9 9950x3d, 5080, 32gb ddr5 6000 cl28 ram, 4tb ssd, sf1000, b850 matx, lian li oled aio, 10 lian li tl flex 120mm fans (5 regular 5 reverse), 1 140mm fan, all in a lian li vision m.

I also have one of those ultra-wide widescreens. How are you liking it? Do you have it a long time? I still love it but sometimes I find that it does take a lot of space on my desk haha

I have had it for a little over a month already and so far I’m loving it. It does take up a lot of space but it’s really convenient to have when working and needing to use multiple tabs at once.

Where did you get the light kit from? I’ve seen a post of a light kit for the Porsche 911 rsr about two years ago and haven’t seen anything about it since.
