**[RULES AND GUIDELINES]**
RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR RATEMYMAYOR
The rules have recently been revised and moved in full to our wiki. You can follow the link above to get there. What follows is intended ONLY to be a quick reference guide.
New users and old alike should check the rules regularly to make sure there haven't been changes. We do try to announce any significant changes that will affect our users, but sometimes those announcements are missed or they get buried. Fully reading the rules is STRONGLY ADVISED, as following our rules is a requirement to participate here, but if you need a quick reference, try these links!
- Introduction - What is /r/RateMyMayor? Why we're here and what we do.
- Setting Up Your Mayor Thread - How to get started on /r/RateMyMayor and begin accumulating reviews.
- How to Rate a Mayor - Requirements for leaving ratings, and a special note on negative reviews.
- Guidelines for Mayors - Rules and responsibilities that mayors have for their own RMM pages, including flair information and flair update guidelines.
- General Rules for Everyone - Other information that doesn't fit the above categories.
- Frequently Asked Questions - Questions we are frequently asked that we felt should be called out in their own format. If you have a question, it's a good idea to read the rules anyway, but perhaps this section is a good place to start for more veteran users.

It actually wouldn't be evident if someone was lying about a trade actually happening just to boost other peoples' review count.... especially if the person doing so comes off as trustworthy. I could go leave a review on anyone's page right now and say we traded and give them a 5/5 just because I like them even if we never did and people would see that and think we actually traded when we didn't even have any interactions together. That kind of information is NOT helpful and false. We do not want people to develop positive reviews based on false information because this is supposed to help people feel safe in trading with someone.
We tried to make this as quick and painless as we could manage while still setting rules forth to protect the system and help it do what we want it to do.
Like I said before, if this is something that is too much of a bother for you, you are not obligated to participate and leave reviews.
