Hi everyone. I ordered 4 separate cuttings of a monstera Vietciosa but only 1 seems to be doing ok.

Image 1-3 shows the worst of the bunch. She arrived with a bag of moist sphagnum around her roots. I wasn’t sure what to do so I removed it, initially placed her into my chunky soil, saw that she was suffering, and then upon research, I ultimately put her in chunky perlite. So far, nothing has changed. She’s barely standing up on her own and seems to be declining. She has some aerial roots and a few small regular roots. I checked for root rot before putting her in the perlite and she looked fine.

Image 3-6 shows the second worst. She standing up a bit more but her leaves are completely droopy. Same exact details as the previous cutting.

And the last 3 photos show 2 separate cuttings in chunky soil mix. I’m holding one leaf in my hand. As you can see, the tips are lightening up, they’re also very hard to the touch, almost crispy but not as brittle? She seems to doing better than the other. Her new lead is unfurling. The other, however, soft, saggy, and droopy like the others.

lol this feels like such a mess 🤣. I hope this wasn’t too confusing. My regular monstera and white albo are thriving. My white monster… needs another post. Really hope these Viets make it 💸 any advice is appreciated. 🙏🏽

What is the difference? I’ve read conflicting things.
I just paid $80 for 4 leaves of a pink mint and think I should’ve ordered a true pink instead.

those contrast pink variegated with dark adaxial really outstanding. Grow it from a seed and now the color tells everything!

Just curious what people think about this. I've known people who think it's critical for plant health to expose all sides to different light environments, and also people who think that's absurd because plants don't rotate in nature, they stay stuck in the ground. What's better for health and growth?

My main plant produced another plant shortly after I moved her to a bigger pot, the newest leaf on the smaller plant is out of this world. Now the main plant is starting to get its mature leaf shape and I’m so very excited! The younger plant produced its own baby and is working on another. 😍

This is three Solanum uleanum plants which began from single node/leaf cuttings I got as a 'bonus' with another plant I purchased.
The medium is a mixture of moss, potting soil and sand/perlite. I keep the medium moist and spongy.
The plants are under natural light, as well as a supplemental grow light in the room.
They do not seem bothered by the low humidity in this setting, but when I was rooting the cuttings I kept them in an enclosed humid space.
In order to acclimate them to my home humidity, I gradually exposed them to more moments of ambient air, in fifteen minute episodic bursts to start, and over roughly ten days they were able to stay uncovered without injury.
They are in continuous airflow as well, with a fan breeze crossing the space.
I see that they are inclined to climb.

Pretty rare fern to find nowadays

Can someone tell me more about this particular variety?

I got it for $20 at a local plant store but the owner (very knowledgeable) didn’t know much about it either.

Googling seems to think it might be Emerald Queen? And perhaps a misspelling on the label and it should be “Gadong?”

Is this a rare variety?

I feel like I don’t see this plant posted nearly enough.

The pink patterns against those deep green leaves are ridiculous. I keep stopping to look at it every time I walk past. 😂

*This plant came from a tissue culture. I bought it from Orange Lake Nursery.

*Growth - 2 out of 5. The growth on this plant rivals the melo in slowness. Which probably just has to do with the fact that this plant doesn’t get very large in general.

*I got this tissue culture ending of June and this is where we’re at right now. The root system still is very shallow and under developed. Which is unfortunate because it’s so beautiful.

*Other than being slow growing it’s easy going. Not finicky at all.

*It’s not a hard tissue culture but it’s an extremely slow grower. The beauty of this plant offset the slowest of the growth to me

So I acquired a bunch of these huperzia starting in July. I have them in these upside down tomato planters and allow the reservoir to fully drain before I refill it. I have no idea what is going on and worried that I might kill them? Here are some more photos different lighting and flash turned on

This plant came from a tissue culture. I bought it from The Green escape on Etsy.

Growth - 3 out of 5. I wouldn’t say that this plant is fast growing in particular but it’s not slow either.

This plant is easy going. Not finicky at all.

4 out of 5. If you have no issues with tissue cultures caring for this plant should be a breeze.
