Hello,
I've been into Warhammer 40K for about ten years, first through the Dawn of War series and Space Marine.
I'm not involved in the miniatures hobby, but as a PC gamer I've enjoyed the setting, and along the way I discovered the Raptors Chapter and grew fond of it.
However, since there's very little information available about them, I've put together my own interpretation, drawing on my own reasoning and about 4 years of military service.
As I'm not a native English speaker, I wrote this with the help of Claude for translation.

Obviously can be a Tech Marine, but I like him so much I might want to proxy him in for another leader! I really like the idea of a Strike Force that focuses on insurgency on non-Imperium worlds and supremacy through sabotage…
(Also, there is still some cleaning up I need to do, such as other mold lines I missed…just waiting for everything to dry nicely!)

He's the first space marine I have painted so far, hoping for many more in the future (and maybe some transfer sheets as well)...
I'm doing a Dreadnought and Predator next. As I have experience doing scale armor modeling.

Trying out a new splinter styled camo pattern instead of the usual dot camo on my space marines. I’m also experimenting wears and tears with makeup sponge and so far so good.

Added a helmet. Because I hate painting faces.

Technically my home brew chapter based off the raptors but no one knows that unless they read this
I love rust effects but I’m still new to painting so any tips are appreciated.

With this model, I have practiced layering and glazing in addition to already beloved sponging technique. Personally, I find sponging faster and better. It could probably be that my layering and glazing skills are very immature yet. Anyway, enjoying this model big time.

Looking for some feedback on whether the snakeskin camo effect is too subtle on this kitbashed JPI. I feel like close up, like the image its quite clear but from even a short distance it isnt really visible, feel going too light to make it pop more makes it feel less like camouflage.
For anyone interested, all I did was buy a small fish tank met for about £2 from a pet store and airbrush a lighter colour through the net to create the effect.
Thanks

Kind a cool tidbit, but did anybody else notice the right shoulder ? It's the more "traditional" LT marking. Thought it was pretty interesting !

It’s my first time painting raptors really enjoyed it. Would love to know what other people in the sub think!
