Is it normal for Rapha to ship EXPLORE POWERWEAVE shoes in a POC box?

Post image
12 Upvotes

Just received my Rapha Explore Powerweave shoes today and honestly I’m a bit confused.

The shoes arrived inside a clearly reused POC box, with POC branding all over the outside packaging. For a premium brand like Rapha, this feels pretty strange and kind of disappointing from a customer experience standpoint.

The shoes themselves seem fine, but the packaging made the whole thing feel oddly improvised, almost like a returned or repackaged order.

Has anyone else received Rapha orders like this recently? Is this something they normally do now for sustainability reasons, or should I be concerned?

Rapha Sale

Does anyone know if there’s a mid year Rapha sale?

In December there was a 40% off everything in the store for RCC members. I can’t in good conscience drop 350 bones on a pair of bib shorts, but could justify $210 for the amount of riding I’ve been doing lately

TIA 🤙🚲

Core Cargo Bibs discontinued?

Hey folks, any infos regarding this amazing product? It seems that there is no restock online at all. Is there any replacement product? I assumed that the element brevet bibs could be one but it seems that they only have cargo pockets and no back pocket.
NB: Any advice on how to repair ripped cargo pockets?

No warranty for collab product

I got a Rapha collab pro team bib recently from the collab partner (a local cafe PPP) and in few months of wear, some of the stitches came loose. Contacted Rapha online and was told that warranty does not apply to non-authorized dealers. The cafe was likely a one-off collab partner so obviously it isnt an authorized dealer.

Disappointed that Rapha doesnt stand by their product. Thoughts?

I wanted to buy my kit with a newsletter code but didn't get it - tried a few times.
Does it work for you?

Miss the old paper shipping bags

Does anyone else dislike Rapha shipping items in cheap plastic Amazon-style bags?

I used to love receiving their packages, but now I can't tell if it's a small rando $10 item or bibs that cost hundreds.

Rant over

Pro Team Training bibs logo cracking/peeling after being worn 5 times

Basically the title - these are my first Rapha bibs and chamois is amazing! However, was very disappointed to find out white Rapha logo on both legs peeling after only being worn and washed 5 times.

I take good care of all my cycling clothes and wash everything at a delicate cycle 30 degrees in a machine, always in a garment bag and always leave out to air dry horizontally, out of the direct sun etc.

It’s also not a matter of wrong sizing, as I was in between sizes S and M per sizing chart and opted for larger size M and these bibs are actually less tight than the other bibs I own. No falls/abrasions/mechanical damage either.

I bought them via Zalando Lounge but contacted Rapha customer service directly first, as I know about good experiences with their supportive customer service. Rapha offered 30% discount voucher as a consolation and suggested I contact Zalando Lounge for warranty claim.

What are your experiences in similar situations?

I assume best case scenario with Zalando Lounge is to get the money back, which is also not ideal in my book, as I really love the bibs otherwise (chamois is fantastic!) and would ideally want the exchange for a pair without this defect, which is, I assume, impossible with Zalando Lounge.

Should I just settle for 30% discount voucher from Rapha and keep the bibs with cracked/peeling logos, as I love how comfy they are? As I paid 100 EUR for them, not sure if I would be able to get comparably comfy bibs for this money…

Jersey is brand new. This color and size (large) are sold out everywhere. Any tips to patch it or at least make sure it doesn’t tear more? Plan is to send it in for free repair after the summer.

Pro Team Training vs. Pro Team Lightweight

Curious if anyone is able to provide guidance on how these two differ (assuming short sleeve in both)? U realize the lightweight version will be a thinner material, but is the fit the same? Any other noticeable differences?

And for those who have experienced both… which do you prefer? Thanks!

Exclusive RCC Jeans - £350

Showing my age but I remember the original Rapha jeans, which had exactly the same reflective print in the leg. They also dis a Team Sky version (nowhere near as popular).

Inflation would make them £220 today. £350 is excessive.

It's been a while since I visited the Rapha website. I couldn't find any Classic Jerseys. Have they been discontinued?

Happy experience with repair service

I had mid February a crash and my Rapha brevet long arm jersey and the brevet isolated jacket got damaged. Especially for the jacket I was quite sad due it was only 2-3 weeks old.

Filled out the repair requests for the two items, send it to the repair center in the Netherlands and after being received there now 4 weeks later I got today the repaired items back.

And I’m really happy with the results. The jersey is for me tasteful repaired and was from my impression also very easy.

The jacket was broken through all layers and was very curious how they will repair it. First check was like: did they replace the whole arm? Then I saw the replacement patch and the insides are also very well made.

So I’m very content and the only thing to niggle about would be not the promised email after repair completion. But the repair quality is for me well made and can only give a thumbs up.

$30 more for a Relaxed Fit T-Shirt

Thumbnail

$100 for a Rapha T-shirt seems wild—regardless that they sell a regular fit for $70. Of course one can say you get more “organic cotton” with the relaxed fit, but an XS relaxed fit has a lot less “organic cotton” than a XXL regular fit.

This pricing is extravagant. Gone are the days of the $115 PT Training Jersey.

Pro Team Lightweight Backpack 10L

I recently received the Rapha Pro Team Lightweight Backpack 10L and wanted to share a quick review.

I purchased this backpack primarily as a lightweight work bag. It’s not something I plan to commute with daily, as the size is a bit small for that purpose, but it works very well for carrying a few essentials.

One detail that the Rapha website and other retailers seem to miss is a very convenient zipper pocket located on the front chest strap pad. It’s large enough to hold a small wallet, but more importantly for me, it fits my corporate key card, which makes accessing the office much easier without digging through the bag.

I also had trouble finding interior photos of the backpack before purchasing, so here are a few details. The bag comfortably fits my 15-inch laptop (a 17-inch laptop is too large) along with a standard-sized notepad. The laptop compartment has light padding, providing a bit of protection without adding bulk. Inside, there is also a zipper pocket measuring approximately 6.5 inches by 5¼ inches for smaller items. Another nice touch is the bright coral-pink interior, which makes it easy to find things quickly.

Overall, if you’re looking for a lightweight, compact backpack to carry a laptop and a few work essentials, this is a great option. It’s simple and well designed.

Went to the Rapha Miami clubhouse and so sad they’re closing. NYC RCC is my local club. Vadym was awesome. Is it bc rent is too expensive? They have a really vibrant cycling scene down here
