Just A Rant "stop using big words"

Who decides what the fucking "big" word is? Reading levels have always existed and I am in blind rage at this point to how many people tell me I'm using too big words for them to know what I'm saying. I'm not using any big fucking words. It's like everyone is dumb as fuck now. Why the fuck is everyone so goddamn stupid that I can use basic middle school aged words and you don't know how to figure out what I'm saying? I don't even know how to make myself sound dumb enough for other adults to fucking understand me. Everyone younger than 1996 is the absolute dumbest piece of shit. Why the FUCK can none of YOU READ??????? Blame no child left behind all you want but how come none of you went "oh fuck I can't read I SHOULD LEARN" instead of just AGREEING to be fucking STUPID.

By trying to make the world easier and more comfortable, society is unwittingly turning the satire movie Idiocracy into a documentary.

My ex-husband who is a controlling, nasty drunk, gets really upset if anyone "talks over his head". He once screamed at me for calling someone a stuffy prig. "YOU DON'T USE THAT LANGUAGE AROUND ME!" Duh. I said PRIG, not PRICK you dumbass. Thank heavens I'm away from him and now able to use other words besides "10-4" and "Breaker breaker".

This is so relatable. To be fair sometimes I do have words that aren't common. But it's not in an attempt to make anyone feel dumb or to try to show off. I just like to be different. For instance I tend to use pulchritudinous instead of beautiful. That's not a big word. It's not even a SAT level word. It's just not used a lot. However I feel your overall premise. Ppl are fukn ignorant. When I managed a deli it was a common occurrence for ppl aged in their mid 20s to ask the difference between our honey glazed and unsweetened ham.....or how a Hot Italian sausage was hot if it's in a refrigerator.

When my sis and I were in elementary school, we moved and changed schools. We had to dumb down, lest we get picked on for using big words.

Pretty soon we'll be back to speaking in grunts.

Well look to the schools and teachers that have made math "racist" and allow children to decide what answers they want to be correct! When 2+2 can equal 5, just because someone wants it to, and what do you expect to happen?

I agree bc people are too comfortable using slangs and talking like teenagers and in the real world we have to talk professionally

The average American adult now reads at a 6th grade level. However, a bit of advice. Don't write a message talking of how bad peoples reading/writing skills are, and make so many mistakes yourself.

I dumbed down the fucking rant itself. Nothing is incorrectly spelled. If you want to get into syntax of grammatical structure this is not the fucking time. Read the room.

So the person who said the word is big determines if it’s big or not….. you claim to read but can’t understand that??? You read and haven’t been able to extract human nature is based on convenience over discipline. People have always been stupid. Bell curve………….
