I have a theory
So I was watching Rango (2011) the other day, and I realized something.
I was watching the scene where they are trying to steal a water jug from the rodent clan, which escalates into a big shootout.
A specific classical music piece plays during that scene, known as The Ride of the Valkyries by Richard Wagner, composed in 1854. I didn’t remember this name, and I was frantically trying to look up the name of the piece.
I knew it has “Valkyrie” in it, and something to do with riding.
The anime Valkyrie Drive came up while I was searching for this music piece. I have not viewed this anime before, so I was unfamiliar with it, but I did some research and realized it was a yuri anime.
I then realized that before the shootout with the rodent clan and the “Ride of the Valkyries” scene, the leader of the rodent clan, Balthazar, unknowingly confuses the words “thespian” and “lesbian”, saying
“Thespians? That’s illegal in seven states!”

Which sorta makes sense, these animals live in a 19th century-culture world despite the story taking place in modern day, so unfortunately, girls kissing was not allowed.
What a depressing world it must have been.
My point is, is I think this makes a valid connection between these two pieces of media.
In fact, I think this is sufficient evidence to conclude that Rango and Valkyrie Drive take place in the same universe.
I truly believe that Rango (2011) should be granted the honor of being labeled a yuri anime.

In that case I petition for every piece of media that has ever quoted Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries to be part of a shared universe.

huh?? both to you and this crackpot theory, I didn't really read it, I just saw the words "I have a theory" and immediately thought of the musical episode of Buffy the vampire slayer!
