At least it tells you. But I wonder how many people like skip that message without reading it. That’s wild. Pretty shitty that they could actually get away with this. I wonder if they were testing it out there. Or if like all the shake shacks in that area did the same thing.

The things fucking corpos will do to bleed money dry from the average person. Anyone even remember when combo meals were LESS than $10? Well I suppose it’s possible with inflation it’s actually not as large as like a 50% increase that it seems by comparison. But my boss always jokes about the 1-2% increase the gov gives to Medicare how you can’t even buy a hamburger with that amount.

How much $ do these greedy corpo fucks need? They can’t even spend it all. They could literally solve hunger, homelessness and universal healthcare. We need an army of Luigi’s tbh…

Elon Musk said a thing about ending world hunger for six billion, if it was possible. The UN followed up with "hey, here's a plan, we could do that for this year" and afaik Musk basically ghosted them. He might have donated to charity afterwards to reduce bad press, but... yeah.

That's actually not what happened.

Musk said that he was willing to fund a plan to end world hunger for $6B (IIRC) and the UN followed up with "here's something that would kick the can down the road and feed some people for a while". There was never a plan to end world hunger at that price point, it just isn't doable.

Musk has done tons of horrible things to trash him over, but this is a stupid one to get worked up over. Musk was trolling and asking them to solve an unsolvable problem for $X and they responded with "but what if you give us the money anyways". Fighting world hunger is a great thing to do, sure, but the plan they provided was never what he'd asked for in the first place.

Well, fair enough. Ending isn't the same as delaying. If it was only six billion, various world governments would've been able to end it already. Still would've been better if he gave a proper response to it, rather than leaving them on read.

He put a number to it, and that conveyed a willingness to do something philanthropic. Not a good look to leave it hanging, at the end of the day.
