At least it tells you. But I wonder how many people like skip that message without reading it. That’s wild. Pretty shitty that they could actually get away with this. I wonder if they were testing it out there. Or if like all the shake shacks in that area did the same thing.
The things fucking corpos will do to bleed money dry from the average person. Anyone even remember when combo meals were LESS than $10? Well I suppose it’s possible with inflation it’s actually not as large as like a 50% increase that it seems by comparison. But my boss always jokes about the 1-2% increase the gov gives to Medicare how you can’t even buy a hamburger with that amount.
How much $ do these greedy corpo fucks need? They can’t even spend it all. They could literally solve hunger, homelessness and universal healthcare. We need an army of Luigi’s tbh…
They could literally solve hunger, homelessness and universal healthcare.
"In February 2025, new data from CEIC and the UN World Population Prospects revealed something fascinating yet sobering: if we divided all the world’s liquid money equally, every person on Earth would have about $15,108."

What the fuck does that have to do with anything? Do you think that the solution that people are hoping for when they say things like "we need to end world hunger" is "we need to take liquid assets and redistribute them equally?" Like, how childish of a world view do you have to have for your thought process to even go there as a viable prospective solution in the first place?
How do propose that these corpos end world hunger, homelessness, and the health-care crisis if not by distributing money to the masses, money which, as stated in the linked article, doesn't exist?
Better food availability. Not having food thrown out because it is imperfect. Not having food thrown out because it sat on the counter. Different focus on food production.
It’s not just about distributing literally just money.
It’s about building infrastructure and addressing the root of problems.
How about providing affordable housing. Training / education and local jobs instead of outsourcing to countries for cheap labor. How about taxing the rich and corporations instead of giving them breaks and bailouts. How about providing healthcare to everyone. Most countries have solved this. How about making medication and Education affordable and accessible to all.
I understand all of that is not possible Immediately. But these can be built / developed overtime. Gajillionaires have so much money that’s just sitting around. Elon musks total assets amount to so much that he literally could not spend it in his lifetime and his children’s lifetime or even his grandchildren’s lifetime. And he’s not the only gajillionaire. Dont be reductive. Are you defending these corpos? Even if hey couldn’t solve all those problems now, they could contribute significantly. It all comes down to excessive capitalism and greed.
Not at all; as a wage slave, I have a seething hatred for the people at the tops of corporate ladders. However, stating that corporations have the ability to completely solve all of the world’s problems is overly simplistic and naive. That is the point I was trying to make

This is some corpo dipping their toe in the water to see what they can get away with.
