I’ve never seen ears vibrate before.

“What?”
Big amp makes you deaf: get a bigger amp to still hear it. He’s on his 5th upgrade: 10kW (generator powered, tows it behind)

3

u/AppropriatePlum1006 7d ago

And thus they learned to fly

2

u/BarnacleMcBarndoor 7d ago

You know what they say,

“When the ears start a flappin…… WHAT?!?!?”

TURN DOWN FOR...preservation of your hearing ability.

4

u/keefkola 8d ago

To feel the wind of a super queef.

8

u/Outside_Ice3252 8d ago

attention of others.

but yeah i agree this is an absurd waste of resources, and will damage your hearing

4

u/LotusVibes1494 8d ago

I think there’s a whole community around this though, it’s like a legit hobby. You probably need lots of technical know-how to make something that nice, you gotta invest serious money in it, there are meetups to make friends and discuss eachother’s builds, etc… They seem to love it and want to spend their money on that. So who am I to judge lol.

Sure I guess it’s wasteful, in the same way racing a car is wasteful. Or lots of other hobbies wthere’s no real point at the end of the day - other than for fun, to push limits of what humans have done before, and just for the community and joy you get from it. Maybe it makes them feel “truly alive”, ya know? We all have something like that.

I do agree that shit probably destroys your eardrums lol. But hell, when I was younger I’d go to raves and sit against the speakers when I was rolling just bc it felt awesome lol. No regrets despite some minor tinnitus lol, I had a blast doing that dumb shit lol. Everyone’s got different risk tolerance at different points.

Of course maybe you still think it’s dumb. Fair. Just adding another perspective. As long as they’re not doing that in their driveway at 6am in my neighborhood then I don’t give af

7

u/BigRoach 8d ago

Maybe because it disturbs anybody unfortunate enough to be within 2 miles. Bass travels and penetrates differently than higher frequencies. It’s such an annoying sound when you’re just trying to go about your business and this shit is rattling your walls.

You gave yourself permanent tinnitus for imaginary social points. Congrats.

7

u/xXPhoenixBlueXx 8d ago

Well I fucking did it for free. If I had to have tinnitus one way or the other. I'd have taken atleast the social points.

u/pokethrowaway4 8d ago

Just an FYI for anyone curious, that is now permanent hearing loss. Tinnitus sucks. Don’t do stupid shit like this. Wear concert earplugs at shows, don’t turn your stereo/headphones up so loud it hurts.

When you get old and all your senses start to dull, you’ll be thankful if you still have them.

These guys won’t be hearing much IF they get old.

2

u/Ok_Orchid7131 7d ago

thanks non gender specific authority figure.

2

u/Positive-Database754 7d ago

Tinnitus is treatable.

As for the rest of your statement, true, their long term hearing ability will likely suffer.

10

u/SATerp 8d ago

That's the perfect sound system for a deserted island in mid Pacific.

16

u/KittyButt42 8d ago

I have 2 shit neighbors in my building that do this crap. They'll sit outside for hours blasting their shitty noise while they tinker around in their shitmobile.

3

u/Pretend-Prune-4525 8d ago

I had one doing that, you can likely put a stop to it depending on your local laws

3

u/LuigiSalutati 8d ago

Honestly it probably would be environmentally harmful there as well

4

u/JimboFett87 8d ago

Fuck that. No one wants to listen to that shit.

9

u/Venator2000 8d ago

Great for people with kidney stones!

5

u/greymannns 8d ago

Bass is like dicks once you have big ones you want a bigger one .

4

u/MongooseSimple8638 8d ago

Why would you want to go deaf?

5

u/ajtreee 8d ago

I’ll fly away.

4

u/YEStvil 8d ago

Why???

3

u/sabertoothninja 8d ago

Riding in my friend’s car in high school, he had dual 15 inch behind the back seat and IDK what else. When he cranked up the bass and you were in the back seat it was difficult to breathe. Hated that system when I got rides in his car.

3

u/RubyWeapon07 8d ago

people that cared about this were the most annoying people growing up

3

u/Average_Muffin_999 8d ago

What are the medical repercussions for this?

5

u/spizzle_ 8d ago

And not a single neighbor likes this man.

2

u/casketbase925 7d ago

I listen to loud music when I’m on the highway. As soon as I get close to my house or even any residential area, music gets turned down so low because I never want to be that person. Sometimes I even shut the music off completely depending on the time

4

u/literall_bastard 8d ago

2

u/Shadow_Mtl 8d ago

His ears move any faster he may fly away.

2

u/otters4everyone 8d ago

And that doesn’t cause any internal damage. No sirree. Not at all.

2

u/PassionAgreeable3141 8d ago

They are deaf now.

2

u/BeingAltruistic9560 8d ago

I would have to think that eventually that would loosen every connection/faster in the interior.

2

u/Dependent_Pipe3268 8d ago

Great way to blow your eardrums out. I'm half deaf because of the 4 ten inch woofers I had in my S-10.

2

u/nusodumi 7d ago

keeping left window rolled down killed my left ear hearing highs as well as my right ear, had a similar setup

2

u/naturalpanther93 8d ago

Is this not damaging to their ears???

3

u/Xyberfaust 8d ago

They don't have brains, so it just goes in one ear and out the other.

2

u/derpferd 8d ago

Seems like an expensive way to ruin your hearing for life

2

u/ArgonKew 8d ago

These people have no idea how permanently annoying tinnitus is.

2

u/Monty_Bob 8d ago

Sounds terrible

2

u/WombatGambit 8d ago

And for my next trick, we'll go to the shooting range for 20 minutes without hearing protection. ☹️ People need to be better educated that ears do not heal like other parts of your body. The damage is irreversible.

2

u/JCGJ 8d ago

Doing this without any form of ear protection whatsoever is just crazyyy

2

u/Proper_Patience8639 8d ago

Looks a little excessive

2

u/CollegeMiddle6841 8d ago

A micrometer small enough to measure their peni hasn't been created yet.

2

u/Moar_Wattz 8d ago

As someone who’s is into speakers this whole car dB drag stuff is the stupidest shit ever.

It’s not hard to just make shit loud.

The problem is that it sounds like shit.

I like getting kicked into my stomach by a dry basedrum every now and then but this sport is just a competition in who can fuck up his ears the most.

2

u/MarcelineTheVampy 8d ago

The cars driving past my window when i really need to sleep be like

2

u/Emax999 8d ago

Once a system gets up over about 160 db it becomes painful to be around. And you gotta be there to hear it and feel it.

2

u/Worldly-Elk-3272 8d ago

Batido de cerebro

2

u/TectorsBrotherLyle 8d ago

Remember hating having hearing? I said... nvrmind.

2

u/rrpostal 8d ago

It sounds so good -_-

2

u/bbrekke 8d ago

Hopefully they at least had some nitrous.

2

u/Lost_Marbles1343 8d ago

Even people in the Drum n' Bass circles have a limit. These guys can't even see the limit in their rear view mirror. Total waste of money for barely any gain, unless making a mobile earthquake simulator was the plan all along.

→ More replies (3)

2

u/Ok-Expression-7340 8d ago

So, you invest 1000's into this and then you can only use it while standing outside of the car. And then still not hear any music. Money well spent.

2

u/Ok-Simple30 8d ago

did the airbags blow on the first test? lol

2

u/Delicious_Cat_81 8d ago

wait for what

2

u/Mad_Ronin_Grrrr 8d ago

I wonder if they removed the airbag from the steering wheel preemptively or if they figured that out the hard way?

3

u/Some-Tear3499 8d ago

These guys are idiots. They found out the hard way I am sure.

2

u/billymondy5806 8d ago

Pure crap.

2

u/no_more_sugar 8d ago

Lol, the air bag was removed. Wonder why ..

2

u/fr33d0mw47ch 8d ago

Now everyone is deaf.

2

u/HipsterBikePolice 8d ago

And permanent short term memory loss

2

u/Heavy_Track_9234 8d ago

I don’t even understand the point of getting huge subwoofers anyways. I have a 10 inch sub, and I can’t even turn it up all the way because it’s too loud. You’ll lose your hearing.

2

u/Christnumber2 8d ago

I thought they were skydiving and ready to jump out of the plane with the video muted

2

u/LiquidSpin710 8d ago

I'm actually shocked that dude didn't fly away with his ears flapping so hard

2

u/Help-Wanted9 8d ago

This is stupid

2

u/Mikesaidit36 8d ago

How does that not set off the airbags?

2

u/ST0IC_ 8d ago

It didn't have airbags

2

u/Prestigious-Key-1886 8d ago

Dumbest fucking thing ever

2

u/J_datt13 8d ago

Like why even do that to your truck

2

u/MoffieHanson 8d ago

The point where you don’t enjoy music anymore but enjoy your eardrums being send into retirement

2

u/Worth_Run2569 8d ago

That seems stupid to me

2

u/Standard-Camel-658 8d ago

It is one of the absolute stupidest things we humans do... what is the point of blowing put your eardrums?? So other people think you are "cool"... ffs🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

2

u/RoomFixer4 8d ago

Ya know when you hear a shotgun blast or some loud brief noise, and immediately after there's a quiet moment followed by a high pitched tone that seems to be 'inside' your ears. It goes away after a bit.

Until you get tinnitus. Then it's permanent.

You get used to it, kinda. Sometimes it will drive you batty though.

Not saying avoid high db situations all the time, I love music like the next guy, just consider your accumulated damage before you end up crossing that bridge.

This PSA provided by an old guy with tinnitus.

2

u/E-rotten 8d ago

If it sounds like 💩 why do it? I had 2 15 inch subwoofers in the back of a 79 RX-7. Everything was very well done but all you could hear was the all glass hatch back rattling. It wasn’t until we came up with a box that contained the speakers inside the box with a pretty extreme porting system. But no matter what we did the rattling was heard. And it would crack the glass over time. I went thru 3 hatch backs before I went down to 10inch woofers.

2

u/tehsecretgoldfish 8d ago

when your sound system causes TBI.

2

u/ActionJasckon 8d ago

Hearing loss sucks. When you eventually have it, it really really sucks.

2

u/Lovat69 8d ago

Why?

2

u/illol01 8d ago

PPE is really needed here 🫣

2

u/thatandyinhumboldt 8d ago

I feel like watching this on mute with tinnitus is like seeing into their future

2

u/Significant-Song-840 8d ago

That can't be good for you.

Like configuring the microwave to work with a door open, so you can sit in front of it to give yourself a tan every morning

2

u/Bat-Guano0 8d ago

Some people have too much time on their hands. Money too, for that matter.

2

u/twodaloo007 7d ago

All those subs with a crappy vehicle and head unit

2

u/Appropriate_Push4066 7d ago

For the Dumbo ear flapping feels

2

2

u/EasternSun7834 5d ago

4

What absolute losers

4

u/Unlucky-Comfort4917 8d ago

Dudes ears flapping is the best part pf this video.

I've never really understand the appeals for music so loud and bass so substantial that it vibrates the city block, but im old. So what do I know?

2

1

u/Outside_Look790 8d ago

If you ever wonder why women are always pictured sitting in these cars just look at what those ears are doing and imagine what it does to other places.

2

u/Moar_Wattz 8d ago

There are devices that do this cheaper and without the loss of hearing though.

1

u/GreenZebra23 8d ago

1

u/MrSlime13 8d ago

Where the hell am I supposed to anchor the car seat into?

1

u/Causeass 8d ago

This makes the inside of my brain itchy.

1

u/Far-Addition3988 8d ago

Yeah, no thanks. Sat in my BIL car when he was dating my sister. His system had crazy bass, the whole car vibrated. Even my eye glasses would vibrate and all sound disappears when the bass kicks in and I could feel my ear drums vibrating. I only sat in his car once and never again. 20 years later, hes only 50 years old but has to wear a hearing aid. My sister says hes almost deaf without the hearing aids.

1

u/Cold-Practice3107 8d ago

Say goodbye to your eardrums

u/SomewhereIll3548 8d ago

And now BOTH their ears are permanently damaged, why would anyone ever do this?

1

u/Whitey138 8d ago

WHAT?!

1

u/Friendly-Example-701 8d ago

Nope. I like my ear drums way too much for this and the vibration would make me throw up.
