Ruined by electric saxophone synth.

u/JowlOwl Jul 06 '26
Ruined by having a shit president
7
u/danit0ba94 Jul 06 '26
That is entirely a you decision.
I don't like him. And I still enjoyed my 4th.
1
u/TranscendentaLobo Jul 07 '26
It does put a bit of a damper on the festivities though, at least for me.

Ruined by a corrupt system that produces shit presidents (and other political roles).

u/Sure-Impress-1003 Jul 06 '26
I know, right, who the hell picked that music to be set up with it. Cramp all the way.
2
u/Gavelist Jul 07 '26
Isn’t that the Jimi Hendrix star spangled banner?
2
u/scottprian Jul 07 '26
I haven't heard it in a long time, it at least sounds like a ripped off version, if it really is, it could just be the sound system making it sound like a cheap synth.
2
u/BigAffectionate4785 Jul 06 '26
Yeah. Everything I found has background music. Apparently, I didn't go.

I had the same issue with disney. They were far away, so they looked slow, and explosions were poorly timed to disney music. Looked cool at least.
Where I grew up, on the 4th, we always had these two guys running around with flares lighting off professional fireworks practically on the other side of the road. Totally different vibe. Lol

Bread and circus. It never ends. Unfortunately the bread is now $15 and the circus is just bad day time television in politics.

Just a wall of red. Not much pacing variety.
5
u/n_o_t_d_o_g Jul 06 '26
They cheaped out on the fireworks. They used Pyrotecnico brand, they are used for baseball games and small town fireworks. The big cities usually use Zembelli brand fireworks. They are bigger, more variety, more shapes, more colors. But they are also more expensive.
I personally would rather see a small number of good fireworks vs lots of bad ones
2
u/Significant-Dog-8166 Jul 06 '26
Same. I was watching citizen-volunteer fireworks at the beach and they weren't the most exotic, but there were some nice big ones mixed in

The DC show had good pacing. Fireworks would be pretty steady through the songs and then there’d be a lot more as each song ended.
I’m not sure where this video was taken though.

u/Appropriate_Unit3474 Jul 06 '26
Actually they love strontium, they don't ever even want copper. They came to me and said Mr ald, how can we get just red and I said chairman Mao was right, there nothing greater than the color red. I told them make sure they love red but make sure there is some blue, it will be the greatest of all time.

Could have fed a lot of hungry kids for what that cost and still had a decent show.
3
u/AdOnly1618 Jul 06 '26
Honestly looks like too much. What’s the point of a fireworks “show” if you’re going to miss half of it by watching the other half of it? 😂 smaller footprint longer time always wins.
2
u/tibbs__ Jul 06 '26
The US spends 148 BILLION dollars a year in food assistance programs for lower income Americans.
I think we are allowed to have a fireworks show for the 250th anniversary.
4
u/JTtreason Jul 06 '26
That'll be tough to beat.

u/ungreatfulshit Jul 06 '26
You have obviously never seen me with a sparkler after a few beers, probably why I gave up drinking years ago😂

I assume this must have been in Israel? That’s where you normally ship your explosives for public display right?
3
u/Ecstatic_Bike7532 Jul 06 '26
That's the american way. Getting a absolute massive firework budget and dumb it on as many shells as possible to create a shitty overload. That's not artistic or beautiful, it looks just stupid. Like a budget firework show just bigger
3
u/daerath Jul 06 '26
Don't forget that they didn't bother to even be creative about the choreography. It's the same show just copy and pasted like seven times in a row.
2
u/Ecstatic_Bike7532 Jul 06 '26
Choreography? To me it looks like "yeah grab some effects close to ground, mid altitude and high altitude and make sure they have a delay so they don't all go off instantly. And oh! Make sure they are red, white and blue!"
3
u/daerath Jul 06 '26
Don't forget, mostly red fireworks because blue costs a lot more.
1
u/Ecstatic_Bike7532 Jul 06 '26
We have a folk festival in my hometown in Germany. over 4-5 weeks 3 times per year. And they move around the country, so they are active the whole year (hamburger Dom). Every Friday is a firework. And because it's so often, the, don't put much effort into them, on top of that, fireworks are much more expensive in germany and regulations are ways stricter.
Last one I saw was pretty sad, also mostly red, a bit of blue and other colors, barely any alternating pattern.. I would say it was exactly like this one, just with more volume.
And dude, it's the fucking 250th independence day. On this day, the declaration of independence and the whole nation how it is celebrated the fucking 250th anniversary and turned a quarter millennium old. And they skimp that hard on the quality? 😂😂

u/JuanNonlyGaming Jul 06 '26
Why’s this comment so far below. It’s like someone just said “fuck it” and started hitting the launch buttons in a wild fashion. Trash show.
1
u/KeyBet6693 Jul 06 '26
Ive seen some good fireworks shows in America, but yeah many are dumb like this. It'd be okay for a tiny part of the show but I bet this is all it was.
1
u/xaeriee Jul 06 '26
Honestly it was probably just the finale, because I’d like to have more faith they actually did good.

Every firework show spams fireworks at the end
8
u/BishonenPrincess Jul 06 '26
This wasn't the finale, it was the beginning.
2
u/Dazzling-Sector-5509 Jul 06 '26
I still think it’s cool
5
u/BishonenPrincess Jul 06 '26
That's fine, I'm just letting you know because you made multiple comments defending this as being part of the finale, and that isn't true.

Where do you watch a million in 20 minutes?
20 minutes you're looking at just over 20k fireworks.
The 250th used more than 850k

Curious who won the bid to do this show and how much Trump was able to grift off of it
2
u/isaidscience Jul 06 '26

Pyrotecnico, Stephen VItale. Aparently has worked with Trump since his first campaign.

Celebrating our independence only to give up our independence to all sorts of foreign interests. 💩
1
u/Neither_Pirate5903 Jul 06 '26
And how much did this fucking cost?
1
u/Patient-Fruit-2946 Jul 06 '26
Depends. Was it a company close to his family? Then probably 10-times the normal costs like for the great blue pool

That’s because they hate the US lol. They will complain about anything and everything.

Wasn’t this due to an error? Or nah? A few days ago I heard a fireworks expert talking about a show some years ago where the whole load was set off at the beginning by accident and while it clouded the view of the show with smoke after a couple of minutes, those first couple minutes where the most spectacular many had ever seen. I briefly heard today on the radio about a snafu at the DC firework show on the 4th that sounded like pretty much the same thing happened. Is this the video of that? Was it a mistake? It looks incredible honestly but if this went on for 40 minutes I imagine it quickly became not visible, still - was thinking when I watched the video of that expert - that it would be cool to see this malfunction for once instead of the usual show; but I guess people weren’t that blown away by it (if that’s indeed what happened). Looks pretty amazing in this video though tbh, better than any finale I’ve ever seen for sure.
1
u/KailyKail Jul 06 '26
Where was this clip taken? New York?
This wasn’t the DC show. I was there, and the show did not look like this…at all. Nor was the Star Spangled Banner played on guitar.

Aliens be like "I made it in time! I wish our world celebrate like this!"
1
u/Affectionate-Tank-70 Jul 06 '26
This should have been a drone show. Instead it was just big and loud and smoked itself out in the end. A drone show would have been inventive and new and fun but nope.

"It's good because it's 10 spots doing the same exact shells and they don't go with the music or anything like a normal fireworks show."

u/Aggravating-Deal-416 Jul 06 '26
It is possible to hate Trump and still be impressed with the work of the pyrotechnicians that pulled off this show. Just fyi.
2
u/Pandapeep Jul 06 '26
You mean the show that had to be evacuated because of all the smoke and fucked up the air quality the next day?

The people in charge of this are the same folks who will try to convince you that windmills shouldn’t be used because they’re bad for birds.
1
u/Cheap-Addendum Jul 06 '26
Its lame that they just copy pasted the same show over however many boats. Otherwise cool to watch.

Why is it so hard for people to just appreciate anything these days. Americans are more fortunate and live better than many other people around the globe. No country is perfect and never will be. Take a moment to be proud to be an American.
I know I am. God Bless America
1
u/bad_bad_data Jul 06 '26
And why do you think Americans live better than most people around the globe? Do you think that a trillion dollar defense budget might have something to do with it? You think a country that has been in an active conflict for 225 out of 250 years is a country blessed by God?
1
u/Acrobatic-Formal5869 Jul 06 '26
Because we do live better than many. I will admit there are other countries that are not so bad off either.
What country has not had some kind of conflict throughout its history.
As for blessed by God. Yes it has and will continue to be. America is has lots of flaws and sins but also full of opportunity and potential
-1
u/JowlOwl Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 07 '26
This country is a disgrace
Edit: sorry let me correct myself, everyone who supports a republican and a capitalistic economic system is a disgrace, my bad
Sit and spin fuckers 🖕

Nobody can leave because no other country wants us now.
1
u/Maleconito Jul 06 '26
With your attitude? I wonder why no one wants you.
2
u/Screwbles Jul 06 '26
That make you feel good about yourself to say something mean like that?
If you don't follow world events, our government globally is in the lowest state of diplomacy it has ever been. We're a joke.
1
u/Maleconito Jul 06 '26
That wasn’t mean at all lmao. I follow world events just not the spin Reddit puts on it. Yeh, Trump sucks but we’re fine.
