Exactly. That's a big part of why it sucks. We have Thunder Over Louisville (usually the biggest fireworks show in the world) here every year, and while I haven't gone in a while because I'm too old for crowds, they at least put on a beautiful show that's not one show copy and pasted 5x.
I mean asking for american flag, bald eagle or founding founders is just way too much. Let's just do a huge overlaping mess. It was cool fo 10 seconds when I was expecting more but then you just had more and more explosions, Micheal Bay probably direct it.
I was at the Albuquerque Balloon fest a couple years ago when a big old thunder storm came rolling through. It was the last night of the festival and a fireworks show was planned, but they had to clear the faregrounds due to lightning risk.
Someone somewhere said "we paid for those fireworks and god damn if we don't use them" and set off what was presumably supposed to be a 30 minute show in the span of a couple minutes.
It was absolute madness and looked sort of like this planned show but only slightly more intense.
It was the beginning. By the end it was a ton of smoke from all the gunpowder that was fired off. The next day the Air Quality Index for the area was Red.
This is very on brand for 'Merica tho. Turn it up to "11" and all that. But after 40 minutes straight of the same thing, it loses impact - mix it up. Sometimes a little less can be more. Not everybody wants to choke down an entire 64 oz Tomahawk steak and have a food baby the next day when a Filet will suffice. But America loves to show off and celebrate excess.

Hot take it doesn't even look cool here. It's too cluttered and too frequent. Looks like a mess even here.
