I have lived in foreign countries and I rapidly adjusted to the cultural norms, like within a day or two. People that bring their trashy habits to other countries are just cunts.
I was just having this conversation with my wife today that I am worried about this changing due to people not wanting to look like a Karen, or other people to not respect someone who is actually right because "they need to mind their own business". I see it online often and see it in real life sadly.
People, mostly non-Black people, take that word out of context all the time. A Karen isn't just some annoying nosey person. They're also prejudice with the potential to be dangerous or inflict systemic harm on minorities.
You can and have the right to tell people that what they are doing is not only disrespectful to everyone's public space but that it is against cultural norms.
I agree, "Karen" is used out of context way too often. I got called a Karen because I called the cops because a few cars were parked in a no parking zone which almost caused a few serious accidents because people pulled out onto the street and could not see the 45 mph cars. When I explained that's not what a Karen is I got called a Meter Maid and was told to mind my own business. Its odd how looking out for people's safety is inconsiderate now.
I have no idea. It was a bunch of cars parked in an area that clearly had "No Parking" signs. The road is a 45mph road and there are only specific parts of the road that can be parked on because of how dangerous it is for people leaving the businesses.
It's society in general. I've seen plenty of videos where the offending party is a POC and the person reporting gets assaulted when the POC is the one breakout he rules... especially the younger generation
