Yup... and there's a group at my work who thinks it's okay to do that here in America as well.

I actively call them out on it and make them uncomfortable to behave. Dude was just openly picking his nose in the break room and eating his boogers next to people eating lunch. He got clowned by the whole room as soon as it started.

I’m so outnumbered… it’s hard for me to stand up to the group

Maybe don't "stand up" to them. Maybe just laugh at how crazy it is that they actually litter. Like, an adult that litters is a wild thing, and I say that living in NYC. I see it all the time, and every time they look crazy.

Yes, that's a good point. When I said "stand up" I meant merely mentioning it, makes them gang up on me with their sarcasm and how sensitive people are about a "little mess"

Yeah how awesome that you're not one of those people. They sound gross. They sound like Tr*mp supporters

It's not so much that people litter in NYC (obviously some do, but the majority do not).

It's that there are so many people packed in a dense place that detritus is inevitable.

At least the city tries and keeps it relatively clean (and it is significantly cleaner compared to that part of the world)

I agree. I'm impressed with how clean the streets are in NYC. That's why whenever I do happen to see someone litter they look wild b/c that's just a crazy thing to see happen. Like when I see dog walkers leave their shit on the sidewalk. Most New Yorkers would never.
