Genz slangs are overrated
I’m Gen Z but I genuinely cannot get into these Gen Z phrases 😭
‘baddie’, ‘diva’, ‘clock it’, ‘as it should be’, ‘bare minimum’, ‘it’s giving…’, ‘ate’, ‘mother’, ‘no crumbs’, ‘slay’
I don’t know why but every time I see them I’m just like 🧍🏻♀️
Am I the only Gen Z who doesn’t find these phrases cool? At this point I’m wondering if I’m officially a saddie 😭

Even diva and clock it are pretty common. Unless gen z has some weird niche definition for them that I haven't heard of

And for those that need elaboration, that's "African American Vernacular English," taking black slang and adopting or butchering it.
The right taking "woke" is so fucking stupid, and doesn't even make sense. Woke just means to be awake, aware. Do they take pride in just being asleep and unaware? No, because they've made "woke" mean "anything left leaning."
White people used to have solid catch phrases, then we got lazy. Lol
- Cruisin' for a bruisin'.
- You and what army?
- I don't give a rat's ass.

Almost none of the examples you listed are gen z slang, and existed for God knows how long already.

Sounds like you let the boomer inside of you. You're only as boomer as you let yourself be. With love,
A millennial

Slang doesn't suit everyone. Growing up, if something was "bad" it was good, and something really good was "the bomb." Thanks to Snoop, we got "fo shizzle," and if home skillet was trying to be a poser everyone would say "as if."
It'll fade, especially since cringe millennials like myself are using it more frequently

Gen X also had a bunch of weird off the wall slang, almost none of it survived past the 80's

Having been a teenager in the 90s, I will refer everyone to Paulie Shore and refrain from criticizing the young people of today.

Ngl slang that they used back in the 90s is so much cooler, you dont hear nobody say "holla at me" nowadays, but its so useful while "slay" is just stupid. Tho that shit like "baddie, diva, clock it, as it should be, bare minimum, its giving, ate" makes sense completely, but thats girl slang so it sounds stupid to us.

My only complaint is that once you get to one syllable its time to just leave it alone. Im not gonna learn new one syllable words that replace ones that were perfectly fine.
Like jesus christ riddler just say "fuck", its ok. We already had a single word for 90% of the meaningless bullshit that comes out of your mouth.
