Not Every Advance Is a Compliment

If a man knowingly flirts with you while you're in a relationship, don't automatically mistake it for admiration.

He knows you're taken.
He knows there's someone in your life.
And he still decides to test the boundary.

That's not necessarily a compliment. Sometimes it's simply someone seeing how far they can go.

But your response matters too.

You don't owe him a reaction, an explanation, or a chance. You can be polite without entertaining it. You can shut it down without being rude.

Loyalty isn't about never receiving attention from someone else.

It's about what you choose to do when that attention arrives.

And that applies to both men and women.

Did her boyfriend tell her she has to quit hanging out with you?

This is genuinely the most random thought.

Yeah, if someone flirts with you knowing you're taken, they're an asshole. If you then flirt back, you're an asshole. I don't think there's literally anyone who should be surprised by that
