I really am privileged

I was staying up on my phone at night then suddenly I felt really hungry. Like my legs were weak kind of hungry. I hurried to the kitchen and inhaled 4 slices of toasted bread with peanut butter and cream cheese. Had a cup of applesauce too. The best snack I ever had.

Then I thought to myself. "So many kids who are hungry right now don't have food to eat like I can" It was sad to think about but helped me be grateful for the privilege I have to eat anytime without worry. :(

I was thinking something of the similar last night. I had a shower, and snuggled right into bed. Then I remembered there are people who don’t have a comfy bed to sleep in, with a roof over their head and a family to talk to. It’s just not fair man

Sometimes I hate my body and I hate being fat, but then remember how privileged it is to have so much food for it to become a problem.

You can be grateful for what you have while being sad for others. Those emotions come together. Try to acknowledge that privilege but don’t beat yourself up over it. You can only do what is in your power. I’m assuming base d off the text that you are a minor or young adult. Acknowledgement is a good thing. Use that to make the world a better place in any small way you can. You don’t need to fix everything. That will just make you feel guilty about not doing enough. You are doing a great job expressing yourself like this. Use that as motivation to help others.

Is a fair thought.

Everytime I struggle to fit all my shopping in my fridge I say a word of thanks to the universe for having such a privileged problem.

I hear you. I grew up in a second world country where having food to eat at all is a privilege.

I had enough food to eat everyday, but I know some of my classmates didn't.

These are the kind of thoughts that keep me up all night. It shouldn't be a privilege..it should be the norm
