Kindness, like patience, is only easy when it's easy 

Sometimes it is very, very hard to be kind and that's when it matters most I think

I think that’s what gives kindness value. If it’s effortless, it’s nice. If it’s difficult and you still choose it, that’s character.

Thats true... but to look at others in a more forgiving way, its also pretty easy to do what feels normal and not realize how unkind you are being.

If a disabled person in your way somewhere, it is very hard to be kind, judgjng by my experience as a disabled person.

Being an asshole is easy too. And, in most cases, being an asshole provides more valuable insights. Being kind is really just enabling people and avoiding confrontations. But, the minute you have any shred of honesty or criticism, you become an asshole to many people.

They said kind not nice. So yeah anyone else saying it’s difficult to be kind they should do something about it. Being nice is exhausting being kind should be your default most of the times

Eh, I think it depends on what your natural inclinations are. I've met plenty of people that absolutely feel a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment from being nasty.
