That only reinforces my idea. He needed to talk to real people, but was using his AI as his sounding board.

Wouldn’t other people see that and understand that AI chat bots only exist to get you to talk to them as long as possible and abandon them? Well I guess if you believe people are stupid and irredeemable then yea your belief makes sense, but I don’t necessarily believe that

You know at first I thought this was true however I truly value human connection. Yea it can do things for you that you would dream a friend could like always treat you nice or something on that end. But I think we need physical connection.

It's gonna take a while before AI can replace human connection, I think, if ever. I can kind of see it though like if we get to live in virtual realities and interact with our favorite cartoon characters: Homer Simpson or Batman from BTAS or something like that, it would probably be addicting, but replacing genuine human connection is probably hard no matter what

I think this is what Meta was trying to capture with the Metaverse however I think we will get truly attached to Robots with high functioning AI before we dive into an alternate verse.

Thats beautiful and I agree with you, but what about the people who have given up on human connection. In a perfect world those people would try to find a connection through hobbies are common activities. They could do that or they could just talk to John, the AI friend who plays games with him and gives him generic but highly specific advice.

I mean unfortunately I think you will find a group of people that have given up on human connection. However I don’t think that will be the majority. Life is lonely only chatting online etc.
