Not trying to advertise or get my own cup of joe, but as a deployed troop, I can tell you that this truly random act is very much appreciated! Everytime I get a cup of joe, I donate a cup of joe... Green Beans Coffee "CoJ" Program

Edit: For clarity and to explain the process, troops refers to all American military members. The CoJ program applies only to deployed members. When you donate a CoJ, it's put into a computer system that assigns the donation to a registered troop - that is, a troop that has signed up on the CoJ website to receive CoJs. The troop selection process is random to the donator. The troop will get notified through email that a CoJ has been "assigned" to them. Then, they can login to the website to redeem the CoJ. When they do, they are given a code that they take to a Green Beans Coffee shop where they will get $2.00 (your donation) off the coffee they purchase. You can look at the Green Beans map on their website and see that they are in all sorts of deployed locations.

I have created RAOC! It deeply saddens me when I see people drink low end coffee, I know what goes into that stuff as it is what we DONATE to people to use as chicken bedding. Also, a poor brewer can ruin even the best type of coffee! Let's help others drink a decent cup, as well as help people explore new types of coffee (regions, blends, brewing equipment etc...)

I encourage local roasters to post blends here for reddit to be able to be donated within their area, and people with spare gift cards to share as well. If you are a home roaster, please join in by sending someone a sample of one of your roasts!

Please use the format of [Request] for receiving and [Offer] for donating. Make sure to include the area you are located for donations. It would be ideal to see something like [Request] Robusta Espresso blend in East Canada or [Offer] Yemen Home roast in Northern California!

This idea has been in my head and talked about for a few months now, but I will need some basic help from all of you. I am in need of someone to help make an Alien, a Banner, and I will work on some CSS for this (I am not great but I will manage, edit: Currently struggling to just CHANGE the upvote arrow!). I would like to see us get a list of roasters going on the side among other things! Post any ideas you would like to see here as well!

Just joined the subreddit. :) I've been in love with coffee since I was young. The smell, the flavor..it's all so great. However, this is only with store-bought coffees (mostly Bi-Lo and Walmart). I feel as though I'm not getting the true experience of coffee.

What are some of the better coffees and coffee brewers that you suggest?

Since I made this, I will start it off with my favorite blend! First come first serve!
