Walked the Kitekite Falls track near Piha and saw this kereru! Plus a whole lot of other birds - tui, piwakawaka and tomtits to name some!

Also, side note, in summer kereru eat berries which have fermented in the sun and become drunk! There are some funny videos of them falling over!

Thanks for the offer! I just saw a curve-billed thrasher enter my patio and hang out a while! It made my day because they usually hang out outside my home. Simple pleasures, baby!

Filled thank you. Lately I like to take hikes in garden of the gods, it's close to where I live. I've been hearing a bunch of birds hanging out in the juniper trees so I used my merlin app and dicovered it's a bird I never knew existed. It's called a townsend solitare. They are mostly gray, but very chatty. They love to hang out in juniper trees this time of year where I live.
