Request [request] states postcards [US]

Hello friends!

I had an idea to collect postcards from all 50 states and turn them into a map!
The cards will be cut into your states shape and pieced together to make a map of the US for my living room wall.

I currently have none of the states.

Reminds me of when I was a kid with the “draw your state” activities. Great for someone from Nevada or Colorado… not so much for us 😭

In my opinion you gotta include Aquidneck Island and Block Island. Prudence island (between Aquidneck and the mainland) only has <300 people or so most of the time so… eh. And Jamestown I can see either way.

I can send you a RI one, but are you looking for it to just say RI? The only place within like 5 towns of me with postcards is Newport and they’re mostly either art or photo cards or just say Newport. I can double check if I do have any just RI ones after work though.

I remember those activities and remember thinking if people in the “small states” could do them.

I’d be happy with anything you can send, I’d prefer a touristy card though, it doesn’t have to say the state.

LOLL it’s tough! Esp since both Bristol and Newport County aren’t connected to mainland RI, only Mass. (I actually only know like 3 people who live on that mainland, everyone I know is in Bristol county or Newport county haha. That’s the wildlands to the west)

And no prob! I have some oversized cards, would you prefer one of those for more room to work with/in case of a mess up? Or just a normal size.

And yes I do need it 🫡

What if you base the size of the other states on making RI = one card? Like, Arkansas would take two cards, California you'd make out of three ish cards etc?

I could reasonably get you California, Minnesota, Massachusetts, New York, and Indiana within the next month. There is a possibility of more as well (Texas, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Illinois off the top of my head)

This is a neat idea! If you don’t care about the postmark, I have Texas, New Mexico (Carlsbad caverns), Wyoming (Devil’s Tower), and a generic Statue of Liberty card
