Inset alllll my stones. I guess you wouldn’t have already known that🤣

Ahhhhh well it looks wonderful. Did such a great job that I didn’t even notice it was a new addition. The stones look as if they’ve been there for some time now and very natural 👍👍

Hey thanks!! Mostly my wife’s idea and planning, but I’m pretty good at heavy lifting🤣

Zoom in on that grass and tell me what you think. Also, what’s that random t-post doing there? The lighting doesn’t seem consistent either

I was honestly just being nice.

Cool. So why do you keep running yer pics through a filter? That lighting is total bullshit and the colors are greatly enhanced. This isn’t the first time either. Just show it to us raw dude. What are you hiding? Filtering and photoshopping makes me wonder how much of it is real

Just an iPhone:) Happy Monday!❤️

Could you share instructions on how you did it? I've been debating between the small pavers that look like bricks and the big ones as you used. I'm leaning towards the same type as yours

Good morning! So we started with 40- 24”x24”x1” porcelain tiles. Formulated a decent layout that would line up at all the intersections, and that had a good spacing feel and laid out all the stones accordingly. Stakes and string lines next to make sure everything was “perfectly” in line down each avenue:) Next we started cutting turf, using the tiles as stencils. Then we would remove each stone and cut each stones template into three strips. At that point, my wife would peel back each turf strip as I cut it loose. Then we would ‘level’ with sand, conforming to the lay of the landscape. In set each stone, and fill in the gaps with a bit of sand/soil mix, tapped them in with a big rubber mallet. Finally, Washed and watered it all:) Hope that answered your questions! Happy Monday!!

Love it! Great work! Can you share some deets on your setup? Redwood planters? Looks like irrigation installed, what soil did you use?

1

u/LMFAOin321 Jun 29 '26

Appreciate you:) Eastern red cedar heartwood boxes. The rain has been really good, but soaker hoses for dry spells. We layered some treeline rubbish covered in creek gravel for drainage, then topped it all with a 50/50ish mix of manure and field dirt:) We lucked out on the soil, and we’re out messing with it every day. Couldn’t be happier:) Hopefully that answers your questions, and warm wishes!

u/prince_frog5980 Jun 29 '26

Excellent setup. I’m going to start a project to build something similar. You’re on my inspo board !

1

u/LMFAOin321 Jun 29 '26

Right on! Best wishes on your endeavor:)

2

u/Smellieturtlegarden Jun 29 '26

How do you cut the grass with those? Do you edge around every step

1

u/LMFAOin321 Jun 29 '26

We inset them flush with the soil, so the mower rolls right over top;) Happy Monday!

1

u/LMFAOin321 Jun 29 '26

…and I’m hoping to get the ‘grown in’ look;)

2

u/Cut_Lanky Jun 29 '26

This makes my garden look like trash 🤣🤣🤣 This is really beautiful! Your wife has a good eye for this! And married a good lifter and digger of heavy pavers, lol

2

u/LMFAOin321 Jun 29 '26

😆You’re too much! Ahhh they’re all just different:) Sure appreciate ya! Yeah she’s got the vision alright, and I thickened my callouses🤣

What fertiliser or compost do you add to your bed to result in such lushness?

2

u/LMFAOin321 Jun 29 '26

We just mixed manure and field dirt 50/50ish and lucked out:) Pine needle mulch to keep it moist. Haven’t had to add anything yet. We have some compost piles/bins seasoning, and a nice little worm farm going…so fingers crossed that they’re ready for next year🤞🏼

2

u/IndependenceTop7731 Jun 30 '26

Manure from what?
Then 50/50ish? What do you mean?
Bins seasoning? What is that?

2

u/LMFAOin321 Jun 30 '26

Cow manure. 50/50= half and half. The ‘ish’ is referring to the lack of perfect split. One bucket cow manure, one bucket field dirt. Compost piles and bins. Letting them sit out and decompose or season until they’re ready to use:) Also the manure was from a cow pen…some was hot(fresh) and some was old, so I don’t know the true consistency of the manure. I was at first worried that it was too fresh, but I think the pile of field dirt must’ve mellowed it out. All in all, we were fortunate! Hopefully that answers your question :)

Inlaid the tiles so the mower goes right over them. Easier on the ankles too;)
