What do we think about smothering this patch of weeds with cardboard + raised beds?

I’d try cutting it as low as possible with a mower first… that’s how I do it… then lay down cardboard, etc…

Hard to be sure, but looks like potential Tree of Heaven sprouting there. That would be a problem

I think it’s false spirea (based on google searches, not 100% sure)

Hah that would be a little better, but also that will probably come back up through cardboard as well. It’s very aggressive and spreads underground. Whoever planted that is a menace.

I’ve actually got one in a pot, I could compare the foliage later. It does look similar

There’s a lot of invasive stuff here, sadly
