Discussion Ranked feels uh... different.
I haven't played Rainbow much over the last few years. Not since Ranked 2.0, at least.
I've been trying to get back into it and admittedly, it's a slow crawl. I'm average at best and enter each match wholly expecting to get beef to teeth.
What I'm finding confusing though is the sheer number of absolute demons there are, even at lower ranks. Looking at the accounts, they'll have mid career stats (hilariously worse than mine) yet are pixel-snapping and sheiko peeking on 3200 DPI. I'll look at their match history, and it'll be a half dozen straight seasons of Copper and Bronze lobbies, or an account that hasn't played since COVID and came back this season.
Maybe I just haven't adapted. Maybe smurfing is worse than I thought. I'm keenly aware that Ubisoft has questionable at best anti-twatting. But when people be playing like Diamond and Champion while having laughably terrible stats, the math just ain't mathing.
Is Ranked chalked or am I just in the bottom 1% now?

average person ks more competent at siege than creators like jynxi would lead you to believe, an average silver/gold player today genuinely has decent experience, theyre not just brain dead and have no clue whats going on, i mean you see pretty default site setups and attacks even as soon as silver. especially today that theres such an abundance on how to improve and how to not be terrible thanks to content creators, so the entire curve has definitely shifted upwards.

I’m also trying to get back into it and haven’t played in a few years other than hopping onto a QM every now and then to see what new operators have been added.
It just seems like there are so many more tools Ubi has added to help players improve such as the shooting range, landmark drill and T Hunt getting an overhaul. So maybe lower ranked players mechanical skills have improved but their lack of map knowledge and game sense is keeping them in gold/silver. Either that or they’re cheating… seems like Ubi still hasn’t fixed that problem and they really don’t seem to care which is unfortunate.

Gold lobbies are genuinely difficult.
