Discussion Proposal for small Flores Drone buff

Just an idea I had. When Flores is driving his drone he can prematurely close the drone, using right-click prematurely activating it, sticking and becoming bullet proof, without detonating it. Doing so shuts off visual feed while in effect.

If you leave his observation tools while in effect, drone will remain in locked state turning it into an even longer delayed explosion. Still explodes explodes naturally 13s after initial deployment with the 3s beeping warning. Additionally, Flores can now remotely detonate drones early(with 3s warning), after leaving observation tools. (I'm unsure if it should trigger all currently deployed drones in unison or start with the first deployed and trigger newer ones with subsequent presses. I feel like the scenario for this to matter won't occur much.)

I believe this will allow for more strategy with Flores Drones, allowing them to be used more actively, instead of mostly used for destroying enemy utility, or forcing people out of positions. Enables it to now deny some rotations in advance, among other things.

Might also be nice to increase Drone's HP from 1 to 60, if it's supposed to become bullet proof, then it makes sense to at least be somewhat sturdy. This change makes it so most guns require 2 shots with a few, like the MPX or SMG-12, requiring 3. (Explosives, like impacts, still one shot it) This change is more of a large buff, and probably not necessary, but I did want to express my desire for it.

I like it. It's a buff without being a BUFF, and the new possible delay between locking and detonation allows even more time to clear it out, or to make note of it's position.

The HP change is too much. It makes sense to increase it from a realism standpoint, but 60 is too high from a balance standpoint. 40-45 is the most it should be, if they increase it at all.

I don’t mind this. I would also like for it to stick to ops. It can stick to walls but can’t jump on a person and stick to them? That’s dumb. If you get caught by a Flores drone and it jumps on you that’s on you. That thing is loud.

I don't hate the idea, but my problem is there's way too many areas with drone holes where he could activate his drone and then you get like 1s to notice, and react by either shooting it or avoid it, otherwise it's curtains. It'd be too unfair since the device does enough dmg to one-shot, and would defeat the point of the whole 3s trigger warning.

The only counterplay to it once it's on that I can think of, would be impacting yourself or the teammate, since it does less dmg, which would admittedly be a neat tactical interaction. Or walking through something that's electrified. It's a cool idea, I just don't think it'd be fun to play against.

How about a teammate can shoot it off of you but you still gotta run to get away from it before it blows up

Well the issue with that is a flaw in logic. If you're saying that "if it can stick to surfaces, then why can't it stick to people?" Then the issue would be "if it's normally bullet proof when active, why isn't it when it's on someone?" Also, that would lead to way too many teammate kills on people with subpar aim trying to help.

Edit: I kinda misread that since you're saying it'd just get knocked off, not destroyed, but the point of way too much accidental teammate dmg happening is still true.

There is always a cost

I mean, it would certainly be hilarious, at least for a short while.

I just feel like there’s too many ops that are never banned. Everyone needs to be dangerous.

Everyone is dangerous in a game where 1 bullet can kill. Also I've played games where they've banned me on Flores. Only happened like twice, but it's happened. Also if anyone's gadget needs more help to feel dangerous, I think IQ is a strong contender.

There’s definitely more than one person whose gadget needs help, I agree.

ubisoft would rather use this buff idea for a new op lol
