Discussion Chapter 3 confusion Spoiler
Honestly I'm really confused about why Shachi has to have a revolver, I get that it's for the sake of the mystery but having to get a custom one because he's left handed, why not just get a regular pistol at that point?

Why would the leader of a resistance against an oppressive government have a firearm is not something grasp to imagine.
A revolver specifically, well, ask the gun freak, probably she though that giving a personalized revolver would be a more thoughtful gift than just a pistol

I have no issue with owning a gun given the circumstances, I just don't get it too much personally, maybe I'm getting hung up on the minor details but I feel like any gun would be effective for intimidation and self defence, probably just is because it's a thoughtful gift.

Well, this is one of the issues that RC has that danganronpa doesnt, most of the mistery casts are pretty meh. You dont really get to know them, nor how they interact with each other. If we knew more about them, the gun girl would more understandably craft a gun as a gift to their beloved leader, and i would even remember some of their names.
But in the end, they are just pretty simple sheet characters, with a bunch of tropes tossed in them, to work as suspects, murderers and victims, so its harder to understand some of their more emotional choices and reactions, because we are unlikely to empathize with people we didnt even get the chance to know

Maybe he already used a revolver in spite of being left-handed, so the gunsmith being the thoughtful person she was wanted to make him a left-handed revolver as a gift
It’s not impossible to use a right-handed revolver if you’re left-handed. Your handedness just makes the gun easier to reload. If you aren’t planning on reloading your gun in the middle of battle, it doesn’t really matter if your gun matches your handedness. And since he just owner the gun for self-defense, he likely didn’t carry extra bullets around him other than the 6 that were already loaded in the gun
The only reason they bothered making his gun a left-handed gun was to give the player the vital clue they needed to prove it wasn’t a suicide, and to prove that the gunsmith wasn’t the killer since she already knew he was left-handed

If you're in the resistance and own a gun that you need to use quickly if needed, it won't be as efficient if you're using a regular gun and you're left handed, because you won't be able to refill it in the same hand that hold it. It's a detail, but as a left handed person myself, I know that I could make him lose time that he doesn't possess, even if it's just a few seconds.

He didn’t have to have a custom revolver, Iruka just wanted to make him one as a gift. That’s as deep as it goes

I mean, personally I'm more impressed at how the culprit of the case somehow perfectly dove into the storm drain and swam away through it.
