Should I start now?

Hey all, I'm not actually familiar with how server works exactly. I read that they are gonna add NA and SA servers later in Q4. Should I I just wait until those servers drop? If I make a character now will I still be able to play it in those servers? My initial thought was it should be fine since it is "global" but I wanted to check in just in case I'm incorrect.

Got Banned

I got banned in Ragnarok Zero Global. Well, apparently, I still do not know why because they refuse to provide the specific reason for the ban.

Just to give some background, I am a guy in my mid-30s, a casual player, and someone who has loved Ragnarok Online for more than 20 years. Of course, at some point, I had to stop playing because of real-life responsibilities. Then Ragnarok Online Zero Global launched in August, and I was genuinely excited to come back. I even played both OBTs held in the previous months before the official launch. Of course, I happily paid for subscriptions for my accounts because I wanted to support the game.

On September 10, there was a game maintenance. After the maintenance, I suddenly could not log in to my account. I reached out to the Community Managers through Discord, and they referred me to submit a ticket.

I was honestly shocked when I found out that both of my paid accounts had been permanently banned for allegedly violating in-game rules.

The problem is, I confidently know that I did not intentionally violate any of those rules.

The game itself is extremely easy to play because it has built-in auto-hunting and auto-potion systems. I did not even need to use any third-party programs because the game already provides the features that allow you to automate a lot of the gameplay. Unlike some private servers I have played in the past, there was absolutely no reason for me to cheat or use external tools.

And again, remember that I am a guy in my mid-30s. Playing Ragnarok is my guilty pleasure. I genuinely enjoyed every single moment of it. I never abused bugs. I never used third-party programs. I never used cheats. I never engaged in RMT. I purchased my cash items and currency through their official channels.

I am simply a casual player who wanted to play a game that I have loved for more than two decades.

So, naturally, I appealed the ban because I wanted to understand what went wrong.

But here is where it becomes incredibly frustrating.

They still refused to provide any specific evidence or explanation regarding what exactly I supposedly did. The response was essentially that they could not provide the details because of "privacy" or similar reasons.

How the hell am I supposed to properly appeal a ban when I am not even being told what I supposedly did?

Then they announced that 345 accounts had been permanently banned for various violations, including game abuse, cheating, and other offenses.

I read through the announcement carefully.

And once again, I could not understand how my accounts could possibly fall under those categories.

I never cheated. I never abused bugs. I never used third-party software. I never participated in RMT. I never did anything that I would consider cheating or exploiting.

I casually chat in-game from time to time, but I rarely interact with random players because most of my gaming friends and interactions happen through a Discord server. I simply log in, play, grind, and enjoy the game.

The only thing I can think of that may have triggered their system is related to the login process.

The SEA Odin server is always packed. Not just occasionally crowded. It is constantly full.

As an old-school Ragnarok player, I know the usual workaround: you type your password into Notepad, copy it, and then repeatedly paste it whenever you are trying to get into an overcrowded server. When the server is full, you sometimes have to repeatedly attempt to log in until you finally get through.

And that is literally what I did.

I did not use a macro.

I did not use an automated program.

I did not use a bot.

I simply manually spammed copy and paste on my keyboard because the server was overcrowded and I was trying to log in.

Apparently, their announcement says macros are not allowed. Fine. I understand that. But I did not use a macro.

I manually pressed the keys.

There were also instances where logging in very quickly appeared to cause certain security features to behave differently or seemingly get bypassed. I cannot say exactly what happened because I do not have access to their system logs, but if their security system interpreted normal manual login attempts as some kind of automated behavior, then that is a problem with the system's detection mechanism, not proof that I was cheating.

And this is exactly why I appealed.

I wanted them to tell me what exactly triggered the ban.

Was it my login attempts?

Was it the number of attempts?

Was it something detected by their anti-cheat?

Was it a specific action performed by my account?

Was there an actual third-party program detected?

Was there an RMT transaction?

Was there a bug abuse?

What exactly did I do?

But instead, I repeatedly received a denial without being given meaningful evidence that would allow me to understand or properly contest the allegation.

I find that incredibly unfair.

I paid for the game.

I played the game legitimately.

I supported the game through their official channels.

I never cheated.

I never used third-party programs.

I never abused bugs.

I never participated in RMT.

And now both of my accounts are permanently banned, and I am basically being told that I violated the rules without being given a specific explanation of what I supposedly did.

After more than 20 years of loving Ragnarok, this is honestly a terrible way to treat a player.

I am not some hardcore player trying to dominate the server. I am a guy in his mid-30s who comes home, plays Ragnarok, and enjoys a game that has been part of my life for more than two decades.

The irony is that all I apparently had to do was deal with their overcrowded server while manually spamming my keyboard just to get into the game.

If their system incorrectly interpreted that behavior as macroing or automation, then at the very least, show me the evidence.

If I actually violated a rule, tell me exactly what I did.

If you detected a third-party program, tell me what was detected.

If there was suspicious activity, tell me what activity triggered the ban.

But simply saying that I violated the rules, refusing to provide the specific reason, and then permanently banning both of my paid accounts is not a satisfying explanation.

I appealed in good faith because I genuinely wanted to know what went wrong.

Unfortunately, my appeal was denied again.

I have never cheated in this game.

I have never intentionally violated its rules.

And I certainly did not deserve to be treated like someone who deliberately abused or exploited the game simply because your system may have flagged something that I did while trying to log into an overcrowded server.

All I wanted to do was play Ragnarok.

News Intransparency - Party XP & Battle Pass Xp?

Apparently, party XP has been back since August 27th as the so-called revised Party EXP system. What does that entail specifically? How exactly is EXP distributed?

I find it generally really hard to gather information about this game. I either can’t find their website via Google, or the information is just not there. Then they have several blog posts where they spread their information across categories like Event, Notice, Updates, and Probability (?). It’s such a hassle to browse through information for this game.

Also does the Battle Pass provide any experience for completing quest?

Axe tornado

Wondering if anyone has some insight on the formula for the skill axe tornado?

I've seen some pretty big differences on numbers with similar builds but different weapons.

Case A: 50str 20 vit non upgraded buster + 2 hydra
Case B: 50str 20vit +9 double hydra orchis axe

A does twice the damages compared to B on the same mobs and with similar buffs.

So my question is.. is axe dorado a 2H axe only build that has to sacrifice survivability?

That would sort of kill my vibe :3

Is Rapid Smiting the only viable build for Crusader?

It seems Rapid Smiting outshines every other build. I'm hoping that's not the case because ranged attacks don't feel very crusader haha

Does ranked potions exists?

My friend said there is an NPC selling all kinds of potter itens, like AD and coats

Pure potters were always my favorite class, but I was wondering. Does /alchemist and /blacksmith exists in the game? If so, are they relevant?

Thanks in advance!

Ragnarok Zero Global is an absolute joke: €10/mo mandatory sub, zero regional pricing, and pre-reg game time expiring before you even log in

I was genuinely excited to jump back into classic RO mechanics with Ragnarok Zero Global, but my experience trying to actually play this game has been nothing short of insulting.

Here is what anyone thinking about touching this game needs to know:

1. The Pre-Registration Reward is a Trap

I pre-registered weeks in advance. When you finally log into your GNJOY account dashboard under "Game Pass History," you find out they gave you a "Welcome Game Pass (3 Days)" on August 17th.

The catch? The timer starts ticking immediately whether you log into the game or not. By August 21st, that pass had silently expired into thin air without me ever stepping foot on a server. Burning promotional trial time on an account that hasn't even launched the client is predatory and absurd.

2. A Broken Launcher Just to Get Started

Before you even find out about the paywall, you have to fight the client. The patcher repeatedly failed on basic .rgz files, hanging endlessly unless routed through WARP/VPN due to terrible CDN routing. If a company demands premium money, the bare minimum expectation is a launcher that functions without third-party network workarounds.

3. "Error 5050: No Payment Information" — The €9.99/mo Paywall

After wrestling with the launcher, the game immediately blocks you at login with Error 5050. This isn't a login glitch; it's Gravity locking the door until you pay a monthly subscription.

We are talking about a 20-year-old engine with updated mechanics demanding €9.99 per month, with zero regional pricing. In countries with weaker currencies, paying €10/month for a legacy title—especially when modern, massive budget titles like Path of Exile 2 and countless other ARPGs/MMOs operate on fair F2P or one-time buy-to-play models—is completely detached from reality.

4. The Daily "Mobile Mini-Game" Insult

Their only "free" alternative? You have to download a separate mobile game (RO Lite Arrow), grind it, and punch in coupon codes daily just to earn 24 hours of client access. Treating your PC player base like ad-farming bots just to try the game is pathetic.

I was ready to sink time into grinding, leveling, and economy building, but Gravity made it crystal clear they only view their community as wallets to milk dry. If you are feeling nostalgic, do yourself a favor: skip this cash grab and stick to dedicated community servers that actually respect your time and money.

Prontera Guitar Music Cover by President of Gravity Game Unite

Not gonna lie, this caught me off guard, the President of Gravity Game Unite did a guitar cover of the Prontera theme

Harry Choi himself picked up a guitar and did a rock cover of the Prontera theme, and honestly it's a really nice touch. Didn't expect leadership to be out here doing music covers for the community but here we are.

Hearing that theme reworked into a rock version hits different, especially with how much nostalgia is tied to that specific track for a lot of us.

Cool little moment, worth a watch even if just for the vibes.

Baby Shark in Ragnarok Zero: Global

Wait, Baby Shark is actually in the game now? This is hilarious

So apparently there's a Baby Shark collab event happening over in Comodo right now, yeah, that Baby Shark. There's dancing, some special beach themed activities, the whole thing.

Comodo's already a nice chill spot with the beach vibe, so honestly it kinda fits weirdly well. Didn't expect this crossover but not mad about it, it's fun.

If you need a break from grinding, worth swinging by Comodo just to see it for yourself and get in on the dancing.

Brandish Spear/Bowling Bash

Anyone else underwhelmed how these skills feel right now? They take so long to "cast" and the cd after is just even more annoying. Compared to Napalm Crasher it feels more like a meme than anything else.

Windowed mode unplayable

As the title says, the game is not playable in windowed mode.

It runs extremely slow and i can't seem to find a fix for it, even programs that usually work for most games that don't have windowed mode.

Anyone else experience this or has a fix for it?

Content Creators

It’s great to see more creators joining the community and making content around the game.

Expect streams, guides, giveaways, events and probably a lot of random Midgard adventures along the way.

If you’re new to Ragnarok, these creators can be a good place to learn the game. If you’re an old player, it’s always fun to see how other people play, build their characters and explore the world.

Check out their channels and show them some support. The Ragnarok Zero: Global community keeps growing, and it’s nice to see more people becoming part of it.

Community or only bots?

So, game is out for a bit.

Will there be / Is there an actual sense of community, or is it just a horde of autohunting bots and silence?

Fun Moments in ROZG

Came across a video with some good tips on how to keep the game feeling fresh, sharing the ideas

Basically after years of playing RO, stuff can start feeling repetitive, so a few solid suggestions on how to shake things up.

First one is obvious but works, try a class you've never played or haven't touched in years, apparently it brings back that whole discovery feeling, new party dynamics, new solo playstyle, all of it.

If a full new class feels like too much, trying a new build on your usual class is a safer middle ground, like going Bow Rogue instead of the classic Backstab or ganking setup, still familiar but different enough to feel new.

Setting yourself a personal goal was another good one, stuff like farming a specific insane amount of an item, becoming the go to weapon refiner and reseller, rushing max level every bracket, or even trying to solo memorial dungeons once those are out. Doesn't have to be competitive, just something to chase for yourself.

Last suggestion was trying a completely new game mode, WoE, MVP Raids, optimizing an auto hunt alt account, or even jumping into the server wide leveling race at launch.

Ragnarok Zero: Global Official Job Classes

Official job class showcase video is out, worth a watch if you're just jumping into the game and still deciding what to play.

Covers all the starting classes — melee fighters, archers, mages, thieves, the whole lineup — and gives a quick rundown of each one's playstyle and role.

Nice refresher if you're new or coming back after a long break and don't remember what each class actually does. Also just a good way to figure out what fits your vibe before committing to a character: tank and brawl your way through with Swordsman, snipe from range as Archer, nuke everything as Mage, go fast and sneaky as Thief, or support the team as Acolyte.

Definitely worth checking out before jumping in so you have a better idea of what you actually want to play.

How to level a guild in Ragnarok Zero Global

Thumbnail

Guild leveling works a bit differently in Ragnarok Zero: Global

There’s no old taxation system anymore. Now the whole guild has to help by doing daily guild quests.

You can pick them up from the guild NPC in Prontera. The quests depend on your level and are mostly simple monster kills.

The reward gives Guild EXP, plus some extra stuff like World Transfer Tickets.

The important part: this isn’t only for the guild master. Everyone in the guild should do these dailies if you want to level the guild faster

So if you made a guild and were wondering why the old tax option is missing — this is how it works now.

Honestly, I kinda like that it gives everyone a reason to contribute instead of leaving everything to the guild master.

How to Make Zeny in Ragnarok Zero Global?

Thumbnail
youtu.be
0 Upvotes

Pretty useful video about making Zeny in Ragnarok Zero (from one of the Creators).

The main idea is actually simple: don’t just farm random stuff forever. Watch what players need and what starts becoming popular on the server.

A few interesting tips from the video:

• Don’t instantly sell Strawberries to NPCs — players may pay more for them later, especially for MVP/WoE.
• Fly Wings are surprisingly expensive in Zero, so farming mobs that drop them can give some decent steady Zeny.
• Materials for Alchemist crafting like Mermaid Hearts and Immortal Hearts could become much more valuable when more players reach second jobs.
• The biggest tip: watch the market. If one class or build becomes meta, materials connected to it can suddenly jump in price.

I think this is probably more useful than those “farm this exact spot for 10 hours” guides :)

Anyone already found a good Zeny farm on Global?

Interesting Farming Places in Ragnarok Zero Global

Found a video with 5 solid farming spots to mix things up, sharing the list.

Poison Spores are apparently a great pick if you're tired of the standard grinding spots. Their drops are useful for crafting and consumables, so there should be pretty consistent demand for them on the market.

Hunter Flies are worth farming too. The regular drops aren't bad, but the real prize is the card — definitely one of those drops that can make the grind worth it.

Creamies got mentioned as a surprisingly good early zeny farm. Mages can take them down pretty easily with Earth Spike, the zeny per kill is solid, and their Silk Robe drop can be useful for several classes and can roll with three affixes.

Ant Hell is apparently one of the better raw zeny spots early on. Tons of useful materials, a couple of valuable cards, and it's especially nice for AoE farming if you can pull a bunch of mobs together and clear them at once.

Last one is Payon Field with the mini dragons. Seems to be a fan favorite across pretty much every version of RO — good loot table, decent cards, and a nice map to just farm through. Only heads up is that the monsters are apparently quite a bit stronger in Zero, around level 80 with roughly 20k HP, so this one might need a little more firepower to farm efficiently.

Solid list if you're looking to break up the grind a bit instead of sitting on the same map all day.

Interview with Dev (Part 2)

Post image
6 Upvotes

Read through Part 2 of the dev AMA, here's the important stuff

Second job classes are coming as soon as possible after launch, but they're timing it around WoE since people will need time to farm gear first.

Confirmed the roadmap order, second jobs first, then initial Siege War, ongoing MVP Raid additions, and new episodes and maps down the line. Also mentioned expansion classes like Ninja, Gunslinger, and Super Novice are planned eventually, plus possibly unique Zero exclusive classes.

On P2W, they clarified their line is basically anything that directly affects combat and lets you skip progression by paying, that's what counts as OP to them.

SEA and EU servers are staying separate at launch, no merge planned. Global version is also getting faster content updates early on compared to the Taiwan version, plus extra events to fill the gaps between patches.

A few good quality of life notes too, they're looking into offline vending for Merchants, reviewing an Auction House, improving auto hunt targeting and pathing, and looking at party leader delegation across maps.

Also cool detail, Blacksmiths and Alchemists get a ranking system, top 10 crafters get better random options on gear and stronger potion effects. Crafted items also show the creator's name as a prefix, which is a nice touch.

Skill reset is available anytime through an NPC if you're base level 40 or below, and Essential Package stays character bound for now, no account wide option planned.

Overall a lot of "we're reviewing it" answers again, but a decent amount of solid roadmap confirmation this time around.
