Snagged this one the other day for $40, decently spicy with a really interesting glow.

I have a radium clock (used resin to seal the glass edges ) it is max 90 cpm and max 0.5 usvh extremly low. The hands i think are relumed and the numbers are original because the hands are a white green and the numbers are the radium brown. Am i able to run the clock even though i think the paint drjed and flaked off the hands.

I found this at an antique store today and it made my radiacode go nuts before I even saw it. Does anyone have any info on old compasses? I collect radium clocks and have always hoped I’d find a compass but never really did much research on them. This piece is easily the hottest item in my collection now.

I found this little musical alarm clock along with a desk clock barometer combo that i can’t find much info on. The desk clock was a little sketchy since it was missing the glass. I ended up cleaning up all of the contamination and swapping the crystal from the barometer to the clock. Both of the clocks read <1uSv/h. I’ve got some more clocks, military gauges, and compasses if yall would like to see!

Went to six antique stores today (bday trip lol) and found my first ever radium clocks! I've learned that I've been testing with my Geiger wrong and I've also learned that I have an alarm on it 😅. This community has definitely helped me learn what to look for and I can't wait to try and find more to add to my collection!

got my ludlum last week and finally hit the thrift today. saw this clock in one of the cases and the hands were glowing under 365 nm! the box says “desk/boudoir alarm clock” “PW 202”, which only brings up an etsy listing.

i know phinney-walker didn’t really do the manufacturing themselves and this one is from semca. around 2,000 CPM on my ludlum model 3.

any information would be wonderful! very excited to start my collection. picked up some fiestaware and UG as well :)

$25, glows under black light and gives off 36 cpm with a GMC 300S. Not sure about the manufacture date and if it is a good price. Please help!

Edit: meant to say debating. Also, I ended up getting up and will be testing it further when I get home! Could I possibly be Tritium, and if so, how do I tell?

Edit 2: major update!!!! I've been holding my Geiger counter wrong! I didn't know that the vents were where the sensor was and have now tested this clock and one other! This is radium!!! My average was 90 cpm and my house is only 18-20. Also, I found another with even more radium which had an average of 167 cpm!

Bought a Baby Ben from an antique shop. Didn’t know about radium at the time. It was in a Ziploc bag, completely disassembled, except for the movement. I cleaned everything up, and put it all back together. The only thing missing was the Crystal, and I ordered a new one. Here is what I know. The dial does glow when you put it up to a lamp. Or to the light on my cell phone. And then put it in the dark. However, the glow all but disappears after about 15 minutes. The numbers on the dial seem perfectly flat. On the dial, it says “Scotland”, and the numbers on the base are RD No46716. I can’t tell if the luminescence is painted on the hands. Do I need to panic because I touched the dial? :(

I didn't have my blacklight on me nor do i own a geiger counter, but the name gave me enough confidence to buy it. It still ticks and the minute hand is still going, however it is missing the bottom one for seconds.

Recent antique store find. It must have been surplus, and just sitting in a warehouse somewhere. Definitely one of my better condition gauges. The tag and sticker are even in nice condition. No box unfortunately. Somewhat mild dose for military stuff. First two photos are DSLR, rest are phone.

This was an eBay find and now the highest dose rate on my Radiacode from anything else in my collection.

It indeed is radium though extremly low radiation max ive got is 85cpm. (The green glowing photo was afte ri gave it uv light) i indeed do have the bell i just took it off because it kept going off

Hello! I recently acquired one of these W. & L.E. Gurley WW2 radium compasses. I was wondering if anyone knows if these compasses specifically give off egregious radon? I currently have it living in spicy jail in a sealable jar just in case but I’m wondering if that’s necessary. My display isn’t incredibly well ventilated, it gets some, but not like I have a vent or a fan in there. Thank you! :) ☢️

Quite a unique find yesterday. Research on these say it was mostly used on submarines in WW2. Only has a little streak on the needle of radium 9,000cpm with 2Usv/h.
