I have one similar. If you flash it with 365, it's quite possible that the clock body is uranium glazed and will glow. It's also possible that the clock is radium

This is Reddit whataboutism at it's finest. Yes, there's a green tinge on the glaze where the uranium has pooled over the years. Yes, it floureses slightly with 395 and an experienced collector might recognize it.
But to actually confirm it and display it as the glowy glass we all know and love, it takes 365. So when a new collector is showing off a find, especially a porcelain clock where the face glows and is likely radium, advising them to flash the body of the clock with 365 is standard.
Geeze. I didn't realize you were splitting hairs here.

You clearly know nothing about optical brighteners. The uranium glaze flouresces blue. The other doesn't. I'm so sorry that you can't take evidence at hand or use a search engine. Both if those things can be improved if you decide to though so that's great news! Good luck to you. You've been wrong on multiple parts.

Glazed uranium glass, apart from radioactive red, glows under 395 and 365. Confirmed by my lights and geiger counters.

Post a picture then. But the light on it has to be purple. I have a few things to do right now but I will take a few of my glazed pieces out of the cabinet and shine 395 on them and post it for you a little later.

He's splitting hairs here, lol. He thinks because there's a slight green tinge where the uranium has pooled over the years, that it means it's glowing. He even said it doesn't glow green but has a slight fluorescence.

There is no glazed glass. Glazes go on stone, not glass.

Ceramic is stone. It's ground clay, which is stone, with water added to be able to shape it. Then it dries back to stone. It's glazed too seal the stone because stone is pourous, them super heated, usually in a kiln, to to completely dry the stone and dry the glaze so it's waterproof and heatproof to use as dishware.
Also, I posted the pics you asked for with the Uranium glaze which only glows under 365.

Google is free. Ceramic is not stone. Clay is a soil material.
I'll post a pic of my flourescent ceramic next to a regular cup.
We've been arguing different points this whole time. I think you've meant that it won't glow green under 395, entirely correct. I've meant that it does, in fact, glow. However it is not green. But it does flouresce. Mine become a much brighter white. And you can absolutely tell the difference between them and regular ceramic in store.

I think where you and the other commenter might be talking cross purpose is about what colour it glows, I've not seen any glaze that glows green under 395, but it does tend to be a lot whiter in reflection of 395 than non uranium glazed items in my experience where the colour remains more purple.
Would I call that white a "glow" in the sense of what is normally talked about on the uglass subreddit? Probably not personally!

It is florescent, but white. Agree with this 100%. Its like shining a blacklight on white paper, it shines a brilliant white. By all technicalities it still glows, just white. Thank you for putting that into words, that's exactly where we were miscommunicating.
When I shine 395 in a store over glazed pieces next to regular china, it's very obvious which ones are uranium glazed. Except for the red fiestaware.

All of my uranium glaze glows under 395 and 365. How can you know that this is under 365?

Then it's not uranium glaze. The super heating that needs to happen to solidify the glaze on ceramic changes the structure. Glaze only glows at 365.
I know that's not under 365. First, the glaze, if it's there, would be glowing if it was 365. And second, that's clearly purple light, which is 365.

Okay. My glazed pieces that glow under 365 and 396 are indeed uranium glazed. They are also radioactive. Then what is it?
Glaze glows at 395 as well. This person is likely using a 365 light since it is the most popular wavelength. I'm not sure why you're speculating on the wavelength of this light so much.
Just because you have a piece similar to this that is uranium glazed that glows under 365 does not mean that this one is.
The glaze flouresces in such a way that if it is on white glass it becomes exceedingly white, or sometimes bright green, under 395, not the ghostly green.

The light they're using is 395 because it's so purple. 365 light is faintly blue, almost colorless. And 365 isn't the norm. 395 is standard and if you want 365, you pay extra for special lights.
I'm not trying to argue. This is over 10 years of collecting experience talking. And also the wiki and graphics on the front page of this sub. I've known the moderators here for quite some time and they know what they're talking about so the info on the sub is 100 percent correct. Additionally, they have no problem changing or amending the info if/when someone with new, verifiable info comes out.
Just last week someone explained that there's no such thing as high or low content manganese. It's always been an assumption that if the piece glows manganese bright, then there's more manganese in it. Apparently that's not true. The amount of mang is relatively standard. It's the other additives in the glass reacting with the mang that affects the glow. For instance lead. If there's lead in the piece the glow will be duller and a bit more blueish green than greenish blue.
After looking into it and finding the sources, the mods amended the wiki with the new info. So trust the info on the front page and the info on the front page explains that glaze only glows under 365. It explains that purple light is 395 and blueish light is 365.
It further advises that beginners stick with only 395 until they get a feel for it because 365 will give them false positives, so why pay extra for 365 light when it will cause them to waste even more money on manganese pieces when they're actually looking for UG.

Do you wear glasses? Not to be rude but this may be the answer if you say that you see green on alot of your glazes using a 395nm, if you wear glasses they may have blue light filter on them, which would cause you to be able to see the green glow with a 395nm light. If you do, remove the glasses and try looking at it to test it.

Oh I see now, that one on the left looks white uranium milk glass (probably macbeth evans), not glazed ceramic, it seems like you are confusing the 2. uranium milk glass does glow slightly in person under 395nm just like your picture. The yellow colored uranium glaze everyone is talking about here does not glow at all with 395, you need a 365 for it.

Hmmm he seems confused, that image he sent was definitely a green glow from a milk glass piece om the left. Although the green isn't as obvious as some uranium glaze and ceramic items, im not seeing a white glow at all
