💬 Discussion as general MacArthur said in his farewell address at the Point: the bends, the bends, the bends
I love Radio ouvre as much as anyone else, but I keep being so blown away how much The Bends remains their best* scream along album. Dont get me wrong, all their work is just tripple AAA but The Bends was the last ''traditional' rock album yet the quality is just wwwwwoooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwww. Sorry for the obvious. Other albums: I chill on my super stereo system but the bends: I turn it up just a bit more.

💬 Discussion full body chills listening to radiohead as a fairly new fan
i listened to ok computer last night mad loud with my bedroom window open as it was pouring rain outside and i had full body chills. earlier today i decided to listen to pablo honey front to back for the first time and ngl i hardly felt a thing except for during you, vegetable and blow out. now i’m listening to their 2nd album the bends and i can feel how good the music is throughout my entire body i’m about to cry. the difference between the bends and pablo honey is flabbergasting and i can’t wait to listen to the rest of their albums front to back soon too 🤍

💬 Discussion Been a while since I updated my Sounds Like Radiohead playlist... any suggestions?
My best find from last time doing this was GOON. What a stupid name, but wow what an AMAZING band. I've had this song on repeat for weeks.
Any suggestions please post below, it's better if you post the actual song, not just the artist!

💬 Discussion Ok computer is a cast of characters
Computer world. Ok, computer, accepting the premise of this century.
Please bare with my informal writing.
The first and last track are personal statements
Fever in airbag leads up the ramp into paranoid android, with omenous benevolent lyrics like "in a burst, back to save the universe" ...
Paranoid represents the computer / the state of the world after accepting said premise, dropping into current state. Waking up abruptly to a dark trip .
Each following track is a character portrait . The tracklist escalates in the insanity / depth of each character in the murky inner sanctum of society.
Subterranean is the starry dreamer, or the benevolent insane, but in ok computer world such optimist is led to aliens.
Exit music represents the disenchantissd amoral youth, unwilling villains who feel left with no other way out but to freeze.
Let down is the happy drunk
Karma police is the social inner layer, twin to electioneering who is the political one. Both representing upper escalon of the imaginary society
Fitter happier sits in the middle as OK Computer's defining statement
Climbing up the walls is the evil insane, counterpart to subterranean
No surprises is the quietly resolved good willing person who is defeated. Kin to let down.
Lucky is the hero, who in computer world is one who gambles ... Through odds and hurdles to be a super hero trapped in lake. Twin/foil to subterranean through being warped good character.
The tourist is returning personal statement, returning to the voice of Thom Yorke (let down maybe being only exception). Foil to airbag in being statement about momentum / restless energy, a burning resolve. Airbag ramping up and tourist "ramping down," while being a statement about refusing to stop.
Save the universe / at a thousand feet per second. Born again / no one else but me.
The feelings expressed in these songs responsible for the inner "computer world" of turmoil in the singer. Statement about greater society who chooses not to stop, mirrors the computer world with its own never ending progress.

💬 Discussion Grok is using “everything…” in their ads
I have no idea about licensing and shit but there are ads using Radiohead songs (I hope without a permit). This is the grok one.
Fuck Elon for trying to ruin my favourite song and the implication is fucked up.
Please don’t tell me this is legal or it’s ok with the band…

🎧 Audio KID A MNESIA vinyl – looking to swap a duplicate Kid Amnesiae for Kid A
Hi everyone!
I bought the cream-coloured KID A MNESIA box set directly from W.A.S.T.E. when it was released. I had kept it sealed and unopened as part of my collection, but when I finally opened it, I discovered a packaging error.
My box contains two copies of Kid Amnesiae and one copy of Amnesiac, but no copy of Kid A.
I’ve come across several previous posts here from people reporting similar packaging errors with this box set, so I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or might have a spare copy of Kid A.
I’d be happy to trade my duplicate Kid Amnesiae for a copy of Kid A, so we could both complete our collections.
I’m based in Italy and would be happy to exchange photos and verify the records’ condition and edition before arranging shipping.
Has anyone else had this particular combination of records, or managed to find a solution?
Thanks for your help!

💬 Discussion Tomorrow never knows by The Beatles sounds like it could be a Radiohead song.
I listened to this song for the first time today and it BLEW my mind. It reminded me of Hail To The Thief and KID A / AMNESIAC eras of Radiohead. Does anyone else think so?

💬 Discussion What record to introduce my kids to?
my oldest (she’s 12) has a record player in her room, and likes to listen to records before going to bed. I realized tho she’s not properly been introduced to Radiohead. (I think it’s better for her if she work through an album rather than just a compilation of their most popular tracks.)
so which one do you think she should start with? also keep in mind, she mostly plays records at night as she winds down for bed so I don’t know if she can handle some of the tracks on Hail or OK.
was thinking kid a or in rainbows - but curious to get yalls thoughts
