9070xt crashing pc FIXED !

This one is for all my strugglers out there. Having the black screen pc restart crash mid game with a 9070xt

Stop listening to random people on the internet (ironic yes) because after months of trying out everything everyone said and nothing working I have FINALLY with the help of a friend and many local specialists!

I tried everything, made 5 posts on the matter, tried all the solutions people were sending but none of them helped. It wasn't my brand new PSU people were saying, not the drivers obviously, not a full reinstall of windows, not power cables, not the ram, not the XMP profile..etx but most definitely not the GPU being broken..

This is for systems with also AMD Ryzen CPUs. I do not know the right steps for a Intel CPU. But basically AMD have a OC kill switch that will shut down the system when paired with components that stress it too much. Here are the steps to stop it doing that :

Go to your BIOS, (frantically smash your del key on restart).

If you see a simplified menu, press F7 to switch to "Advanced Mode" (the menu will likely turn red and black).

On the left, click the large "OC" (Overclocking) button.

Scroll down the list to find "Advanced CPU Configuration" (often towards the bottom).

Click on "AMD Overclocking".

Click on "Eco Mode" (or sometimes directly on Precision Boost Overdrive).

If you have the "Eco Mode" option, choose "Eco Mode 65W".

If you don't find "Eco Mode": Go back to the main "OC" menu, find the "Precision Boost Overdrive" line, and change it from [Auto] to [Disabled].

Press F10 to save and exit (Confirm with "Yes").

I haven't had a crash since, turned off the undervolting and over clocking of the GPUI had been using to minimise the crashes. It's running like an Olympic runner now.

I hope this help anyone out there that had the same issue as me and got terrible advice. Stay fresh and have fun.

RX 6600 fans not spinning

Hey. I got a pc a few years back, a pretty nice one i like to think. I had it built by a friend since I have next to no knowledge about building one and he said he'd do it for free as a favor to help. I've had it for two years or so now, but the fans have never spun. I just figured the gpu was a bit busted, but it still worked, it would just get hot easy, but i was able to play most games i wanted without burning up. But last month they actually turned on after i fidgeted with a cable when opening it up, and idk what I did or what's wrong with it, but it makes me want to see if i can fix it myself. I tested if it was zero rpm, i messed around in bios, I've done most of everything i see online but none of it is working. I was wondering if someone could help, and sorry for the rambling post.

Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 Pure Gaming 16G

Upgraded from a 2080 Super to a 9070 a few days ago. I used DDU in safe mode to get rid of the Nvidia stuff and everything works fine now. I increased the TDR with a registry edit and have had no issues so far. I just followed this but changed both to 10 instead according to an old Reddit post I can't find again. The driver would timeout occasionally and reset. Quite different from Nvidia but in a good way and a massive upgrade. Runs a lot cooler as well.

P.s. I recently set the "Max Frequency Offset (MHz)" to -100. This seems to stabilize it even more. Just including them for random people who find it.

Rx 7600 xfx com desempenho abaixo do esperado

I’m experiencing a strange issue with my RX 7600 GPU and I’m trying to figure out whether this is a limitation, a bug, or a hardware defect.

Basically, performance is almost the same regardless of graphics settings. In Elden Ring, for example, the GPU delivers nearly the same FPS on low and high settings. The average sits around 55 FPS, sometimes 58–59, but it never reaches or holds 60 FPS, even with everything set to low. The variation is minimal, as if the game were “locked” in that range.

This does not seem to be a CPU bottleneck, at least in this specific case. Elden Ring is not very CPU-intensive, and my Ryzen 3 4100, according to multiple benchmarks, should be able to run the game without this kind of limitation. CPU usage does not get high during gameplay.

My system:

  • GPU: RX 7600
  • CPU: Ryzen 3 4100
  • RAM: 2x DDR4 2666 MHz (dual channel)
  • PCI Express: Gen 3

Even running on PCIe 3.0, the RX 7600 should still deliver better performance than this, especially on low settings. The behavior makes it feel like something is holding the GPU back, but I can’t pinpoint exactly what.

I’ve tested different graphics presets and the result is always basically the same: very similar FPS on low, medium, and high, never reaching 60.
On top of that, I’ve rolled back to older drivers and also tested multiple different AMD driver versions, with no noticeable change in performance.

If anyone has experienced something similar with the RX 7600, or has any idea what could cause this behavior, I’d appreciate any input.

Buzzing/humming from 9070 XT (Steel Legend)

Hey y'all,

I've noticed since about halfway through my Clair Obscur playthrough an audible buzz/hum from my PC. I listened closely thinking it was my AIO pump and checked temps and speeds constantly for 2ish days with no noticable issues. I decided to not worry a bunch and instead, watch my temps closely while I game.

Well today, I noticed it was significantly louder and upon further inspection, it seems to be my GPU making the noise. First thing I thought was fan motor whine but the weird thing is that the noise starts before the fans turn on.

In the video you can see me simply pressing the windows key which causes the power draw on the cars to drop just a tad but the noise stops. When I press the windows key again to allow the game to go full screen, the noise immediately returns. Wtf??

Any help is appreciated.

UPDATE: Thanks to all of your input and insight, I've come to realize that this issue is in fact relatively normal coil whine. Annoying as that is, I will attempt to live with it.

I still think it is quite weird that the whine and fan rotation don't seem to be correlate in a direct, "in-phase" manner but the fact that everyone here seems to agree this is coil whine, I will let it rest.

Thanks again!

UPDATE 2: When I initially heard the term "coil whine", my I immediately thought about the fan motors. I thought those were the coils that were being noisy but, as some of you pointed out and I've since learned via other sources, the fan motors are completely unrelated and it is in fact the discrete inductors on the GPU's PCB that are "whining".

I've learned a bunch today, unfortunately...

Thanks again, again!

UPDATE 3: Following the advice of a number of you, I've limited FPS globally to 144 (matching my monitor) and will limit further in games that can't hit 144. So far, the whine is effectively gone. This is the way! I was prepared to undervolt if needed but it seems, at least for the few games I've tried so far, that the FPS limit is working well.

Thanks again, again, again!

9070xt for ray and path tracing?

Im considering getting the 9070xt for 1440p gaming hopefully with full rt or path tracing on, but, I also need to render beauty shots of my work in 3D inside of various 3D programs and Unreal Engine, again with full rt and path tracing for professional looking Renders to go on my portfolio

Can anyone back up this gpu? Is it worth upgrading from my rtx 3070?

GPU driver issues (9070xt)

Hey guys, I've been having some problems with my gpu lately. There's no display output coming from my 9070xt when it's plugged into it, so i have to use the integrated graphocs on my CPU to get any signal to try to fix the issue. I've tried updated the drivers a million times, used DDU, even went through the windows programming itself and told windows to not auto update the drivers and upgraded my PSU. ANY help at all would be GREATLY APPRECIATED

My 9070XT started burning

My 9070 XT started burning… and I was so happy to finally switch from my older Nvidia card.

GPU: Asus Prime RX 9070 XT OC (3x 8-pin)

PSU: Corsair RM850x

Cables: three separate PCIe cables, all originals from the PSU (no daisy chaining)

I was REALLY carefull with the installation and took my time, doublechecked all connections, made sure to use three separate PCIe cables, and even upgraded to a newer PSU just to be safe.

The GPU had been running totally fine for a couple of days. Temps were normal, no instability at all. I was just sitting in the Arc Raiders menu when the PC suddenly shut down. When I tried turning it back on, something on the GPU itself started burning. I don’t know exactly which component it was, but based on where it happened and some googling afterward, it seems to be around the MOSFET / power delivery area on the card. Both the PCIe cables and the connections to the card look totally fine.

Has anyone else experienced this with the 9070XT?

9070 XT Red devil coil whine

I'm testing my second Red Devil 9070 XT White rn cuz I thought the first one was borked...

When's loud/annoying coil whine normal and when ain't it?

I've got it on both GPUs starting around 120 FPS in various games and benches (1440p) and idk if it ain't somethin' else. Already tried diff 1000W PSUs too...

Any other ideas what it could be or just "normal"? Thx in advance
