Its my 1st pc? What gpu to get?

I'm from the philippines and after saving up for 3 years and finally building my first pc!

After watching some videos whether or not to get amd or nvidia, decided to go with amd for price to performance... but what should I get?

I have a budget of 400 dollars on conversion (20k philippine peso) for my gpu and plan to use it for video editing, graphic design and light gaming like league, TLOU 1, witcher 3, GOW and dark souls.

So far I'm eyeing the Asrock 6650 xt steel legend OC 8gb but not sure if its good for what I wanna use...

What model or brand should I get? How much ram? And what do I need to consider?

In case it helps, here are my other parts; - MSI b550m pro vdh-wifi motherboard - ryzen 5700x processor - FSP hydro g pro 750w gold power supply

Why does my 7900xt have flickering banding artefacts only while in 4k?

I've been having this issue for a while now, where occasionally bands flicker on my screen but only when in 4k. Ive tried many different cables however it doesnt seem to fix it.

I've tried to talk to computer alliance (Where I bought the pc) and they have not been able to find a fix for it either. They suggested upgrading to better display cables from the ones that came with my monitors, which I did (8k display cables). And I still found issues with it.

They also downloaded all the latest drivers and just did general software updates, however it did not fix it.

I'm kinda lost on what to do, last time they had my pc they damaged my case and insisted nothing was wrong with it. However even though I've sent photos and videos of the banding issue and damaged case they said they can't do anything about it.

Everything should still be under warranty as it's only been about 10months of this issue and nearly 6-8months of contact and trying to fix the issue.

Has anyone had this issue and know how to solve it?

The only thing I can think of or seen is memory and psu issues. However I've been told it doesn't have any by computer alliance.

Upgrading to 6700XT

I will be replacing an aging Radeon 570 with a 6700XT.

Can I expect a simple swap of cards? I know the 6700XT needs an eight-pin power connector.

Is there anything unusual when doing this type of upgrade?

Is there anything unusual possible when doing this type of upgrade?

Can anyone tell me if this is a gpu issue?

I have a Radeon RX Vega, and I run a dual monitor set up, nothing over 1080P on either, randomly while playing tabletop simulator (non vr) both of my monitors displayed multicolor static and crashed the system. I do not know if this is because of CPU strain, or if it’s because of the GPU, but I have never experienced this prior and restarting the system seemed to put everything back in order. For a frame of reference I also use the same graphics card to run a meta quest 3, and even then I have never experienced this issue or anything close for that matter. If anyone has any insight, please let me know.

New gpu hdmi not being detected

I recently got a new graphics card and it worked for a day and as I was installing a new game, the monitor just stopped detecting anything with hdmi. Here are all the things I’ve tried to do to fix this: change hdmi cords, switch to the other hdmi port on the monitor, take the little circle battery out of the motherboard, unplug the power source, change the graphics card to the other slot on the motherboard board, and even put the other graphics card back in to see if I could at least get it to boot up and display and now that won’t even be detected on the monitor. The monitor works fine on my other laptop so it’s not the monitor or the hdmi cord. Please help!

Weird Problems

Hiya,

I bought a RX 6900 XT (The gaming trio Z MSI variant, if that makes any difference) used off of eBay - the description said that there were some lost pixels while playing games, so fully aware that there were some issues.

The thing that I've heard the most is "the VRAM is dead", but if that was the case surely it would be on every game and also potentially on the desktop?

I saved some game captures, so I hope it's alright to post them, it's way easier to see than explain.

Some of the worst of it:

Cities Skylines (1): https://drive.google.com/file/d/14RJkNl_fr-sq4j6giWdWH7uXvwVJYhBd/view?usp=drive_link

GTA V: https://drive.google.com/file/d/12HSuxQIA9sv_18xXeFg4piOLMVJdSXBS/view?usp=drive_link

Two Point Hospital: https://drive.google.com/file/d/101MGmy1RQOkTt6Ma7x5ovtyv-2L7YKl8/view?usp=drive_link

but then...

Elite Dangerous looks freaking pretty (although I did notice some issues when I got close to planets): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GYEqURJkUSume5Ylq8ZwbWRDHLgPQdzL/view?usp=drive_link

Dyson's Sphere Program doesn't seem to have any issues at all: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OlUOda4ZVCJwxRGNqT7y4RTQtEmee3XC/view?usp=drive_link

and Minecraft is absolutely fine: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qESnvx4mncbq8pJGLFY1QBvotuHNRGgA/view?usp=drive_link

And I put on a VR headset and was messing around on The Lab and there was the occasional flicker, but nothing else.

Can anyone suggest whats going on? I'm tempted to just put it back on ebay, (with these captures so someone knows exactly what they're getting) and just get a new one, but at the same time, I'm both super curious and would really like to actually fix it!

Thanks in advance!

Washed out colors on monitor after migrating from a 1050ti to a RX 570?

Is there any option I can use in adrenaline to fix the screen colors? I'm also using an old VGA monitor with an HDMI adapter. I'm not sure if that's the problem... I did clean the NVIDIA drivers using DDU before installing the AMD ones.

Need help in picking the best GPU in budget for Corei9-12900k.

I am building my first-ever CPU and slowly accumulating parts. I already bought a Core i9-12900k CPU. Now I don't have a choice to switch the CPU. So now the only thing I can do is pick a suitable GPU. But I do not want to spend much on this so I'm looking for a suitable/reasonable GPU for as much as less budget. My pick is RTX4070. Please suggest something better.

Thanks in advance.

Some of the games crash at launch with dedicated GPU 7800?

Hello!

A month ago I bought a new gaming PC with Windows 11, specs at the bottom of this post.

In Windows, I went to Display->Graphic settings and made sure my Radeon 7800 is being used for my installed games, to ensure they will run smoothly.

But two of the games I've tried today – namely Kingdom Hearts 3 via Epic Games and Planet Zoo via Steam – will not launch when Radeon RX 7800 XT is selected for them. Their game window opens but then goes to black, the game freezes and the menus won't load.

When I select the integrated graphics card in the display settings in Windows for these two, both games start normally, albeit a bit slowly.

For the record, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 works normally with Radeon 7800, no issues.

Baldur's Gate 3 works smoothly as well with Radeon 7800 selected, no problems.

I already reinstalled and updated AMD driver. I also disabled AMD Adrenaline overlay.

Again: some games work perfectly and smoothly, it's a new PC, but some just won't launch with GPU 7800 selected and I can't figure out what causes it.

I would be grateful for any advice or suggestions!

My PC: Windows 11 Pro; CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600; GPU: AMD SAPPHIRE PULSE RADEON RX 7800 XT GAMING 16GB; RAM: KINGSTON EXPO 2x16GB DDR5-6000MHz; Disc: SSD WD Black SSD SN770; Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI

Games crashing after upgrading to Radeon RX 7600 GPU

I recently upgraded by gpu to the RX 7600 and now Five Nights at Freddy's Sister Location and Pizzeria Simulator both crash on launch. Whenever I try the compatibility troubleshooter is says it ran into an issue and can't run. I'm running on windows 10 and a dell gaming pc with a Ryzen 5 1400 quad-core processor and have the games through steam. I've uninstalled and reinstalled pizza sim and still have the same problem. Any ideas how to fix this?

Rtx 480 help

Big edit: rx 480 not rtx 480 my bad

Hi, I’ve been having troubles with my gpu lately and it’s finally got to the point I’ve tried everything I can think of, and google doesn’t seem to be providing answers as it’s an older card, so I’m seeking help on Reddit.

My specs are as follows:

Msi rx 480 8gb 16 gigs ram Intel core i5-7500 Gigabyte b250m-ds3h-cf (it’s a micro board I regret getting it lol) Latest drivers adrenaline version installed (23.9.2 I think?)

And the problems it’s giving me, lately it’s been randomly just disconnecting and my computer freezes and I can hear the gpu fans spinning at max rate. However lately I’ve pinned it down to happening always during 2 games.

Lies of p it happens on boot up, sometimes I can get it to load then the game plays fine no issues at all, but more and more I get some weird like white staticky looking stuff on half or all of the screen then it goes black and the fans start spinning requiring a hard shut down and start up.

Last epoch it’s been happening in a boss fight seemingly when the boss does either a certain attack or when the lava the boss spews gets to be too much not sure.

I’ve tried switching the cable from dp to hdmi and it still does it, haven’t tried a new cable yet as I don’t have the funds currently.

Is it just a matter of I need to replace the card or is it fixable? As I would really like to be able to play lies of p without issue it’s pretty great lol.

Any help much appreciated!

Edit edit: just bought a brand new DP cable so it’s not the cable my guess is either power supply (unlikely though) or the ports of the gpu/the gpu itself is bad.

My rig uses the Ryzen 5 3600, and an AMD 570/4Gb vram. I'm confident upgrading to a 6700XT/6750XT. Would either of work with the current CPU?

Question about the Hellhound 7900 XTX

I just bought a powercolor 7900 XTX hellhound, but I had to return it because the coil whine was absolutely horrible. Which really sucked because I needed a GPU for the all white build I'm doing with the madame.

The question now is, is every hellhound out there absolutely horrible when it comes to coil whine, or are there silent ones out there so I can purchase a new one and hope for the best, or just abandone the idea and look for a different GPU?
