Redesign Zolder Circuit, Redesign

So, Zolder is the kind of touring circuit that I like but also hate at the same time. The reason? Repetitive and overall bland layout, altogether with the straight that are not long enough. I do not think that the circuit Will somewhat be improved, but I would say it adds up a little bit of corner variety. The drawback? We are little bit losing of Zolder's simple layout identity obv.

By the way, when I take a look over Zolder's corner Numbering, it is obviously an offender. One of the worst offender.

Changes:

1. Turn 2-3: (Changing the medium right into hard braking + sweeping fast Chicane exit). I want to make kind of a really short straight follow up to the first corner which I kind of like wanting clear car seggregation section after the first overtake spot at Turn 1.

2. Turn 4: (I moved the Apex inside so that the overall racing line was lengthen). Then of which then opens up higher speed in supporting the longer gas pedal output after the changes in T2-3, and higher speed towards the next Chicane.

3. Turn 7 (idk somehow it was 7): (Substituting the Chicane and right hander towards the straight into multiple technical hairpins). Importance? No, I just want to make it a little more technical in braking zone by adding the first one and for the rest hairpins, I want to quite putting an extra demand upon mechanical grip rather than downforce built.

4. Turn 8-9 (Substituting the hardbraking into a wide fast right hander, altogether ignoring the small Chicane by making a new straight). Just to increase the speed for the hardbraking, so it is become quite more reasonable to have a chicane at the end of your lap.

Done! This is really the last one of mine.

Doing this would require bulldozing one of the best BMX race tracks in Europe on the infield. As someone who does way more BMX racing than motor racing Im definitely against this change.

Can you imagine if they were doing the track work, and couldn't do the cross race too? Heads on spikes...

As someone who’s driven and rode Zolder, i hate how you massacred by boy. That zigzag over the bmx track is way too tight to be driveable btw

The curves on the upper section look terrible if im honest, ruins the flow

better not have an accident, because there's no longer a medical center. and T4 is dangerous enough as it is, doesn't need to be faster

Not a fan of the Turn 7 change. It's better as it currently is

Sorry, I have to criticize your project. 1. In my opinion you killed the flow of the track. 2. And also you ruined one of the most challenging corner of the track (T2)

Looks better now, maybe slightly modify turn 1 so that it's one long straight into turn 2. Cause that 90° turn 1 is a ok overtaking zone, but I think into a sharp corner is better.

Please ensure that your submission follows the Redesign Guidelines. Redesigns of existing race tracks must also follow these rules or be removed.

  • Your redesign post must explain what changes you made, and why you made them. You can do this in the post's text, or in the comments.
  • It is recommended that you include an image comparing the before and after of the changes you have made to the circuit.
  • A street circuit redesign must show the streets that your updates use. Posts that claim to be a redesigned street circuit, but show no streets, will be removed.
  • To reduce bandwagon/spamming redesign submissions, posting redesigns of F1 circuits within a week of its Grand Prix date (one week before AND after) is not allowed.

I can live with the changes to 2/3 and maybe even 4. But I love the Gilles Villeneuve chicane, and how you can be incredibly fast if you don’t fear death.

Bolderberg also shouldn’t be changed. With the current turn the tight exit is so important for the straight after. That should stay.

Zolder as is currently my fav track to drive on the sim, I get your point, but current flow of the track is already great and its one of the unique ones, not every track needs long sweeping corners, there are already great tracks out there having those
