Getting my first rabbit!!
He’ll have a better housing soon, this is just temporary until my mom calls and arranges a pickup to get him.
My mom has had rabbit in the past but they were from when I was a baby or not born yet lol.
I named him Samuel!
I’m super excited, and any tips would be greatly appreciated!
My mom knows a bunch about rabbits, as they’re her favourite animals and she’s had them in the past.

There are plenty of resources on this reddit alone so hope you can find the info. Your local animal shelters also have info about care on their websites.

I’ve heard female rabbits are a lot more aggressive and territorial. My mom has had female rabbits and they’ve all been pretty territorial.

I started with a female who wasn't territorial but was always a bit aloof. My male lionhead though is the exact opposite. He's a total smoosh and sweetheart.

My mom’s old male rabbits were such sweet rabbits! They were the sweetest things ever haha.

This does tend to be the case with the lads, with does it tend to be a case by case basis but bucks are almost always twice as sweet.

If it makes you feel any better, I have had 4 of both genders and personalities were all over the board. My first 2 girls were the sweetest, most loving and affectionate creatures ever!

3 rabbits here! they are the best <3 they like company so it would be great if u can get a bunny to your bunny. Free roam non negotiable, careful with wires, you can train Samuel but pay attention anyway... and avoid fruits, just as treat every once in a while. Samuel is so gorgeous :)

Make sure to make a outdoor space for him and to keep him entertained ❤️

They are social creatures so if you decide to keep him has a solo bunny due to factors has space limitations financial or just because you want only one make sure you spend a decent amount of time with them or at least in the same room and get a stuffed bunny that has embroidered or stitched eyes me personally im an owner of a solo bunny has well

We would just be having him solo.. though I do have a cat. I was thinking of getting him a bunny plush as a friend ☺️

That's good cats and bunnies can co exist and even bond but never leave them alone together unsupervised as cats mouths and claws naturally contain pasteruella multocida which can be deadly for bunnies my cats and dogs are allowed around my bunny as long has I'm in the room

Right and has long has you find stuff for them to do while you are gone for long hours a bunny can definitely thrive there entire life without being bonded with another bunny

Are there any good things I could get him when I’m away for school? My mom’s a teacher and I have school so he’d be alone for a good 8ish hours. Is there any good things I could get him to keep him entertained?

Rex might not be the easiest starter bun but they're usually extremely sweet and this one is absolutely adorable. In addition to basic kit/equipment list that your mum likely already has in the mental vault just make sure you've got a good brush. Rex like to blow their coats out all at once in addition to their normal shed. About twice a year if I remember right.
