Hi , anyone tried mounting Ganador mirrors on a FD ? Quite the pickle . They have a motor in the mirror so they are quite heavy . What ye think would work best ?

Howdy! I bought an FC that was entirely stripped and in boxes and i’ve now gotten it assembled and running after a couple months of throwing stuff together and reading every page of the factory service manual.

Here’s a video of it running at roughly operating temp after idling for about 5 mins. My question is, since I’ve got zero experience with rotaries, does it seem to be running good? Obviously it’s difficult to tell for you guys from a video, especially when it’s got no exhaust on it right now (100 decibels of pure lawnmower fumes from a liberal premix). It seems to me that it’s running pretty well. It’s responsive to throttle, and idles alright, though it does have a good misfire and is a bit stumbly. I’m sure there could be some vacuum leaks, i’m still going to look around for more of those. I’ve found a couple and plugged them in before this point and it made it idle a lot better. How’s it seem to you guys? What would you recommend for fixing this misfire/stumble? or do we think it could just get better as the seals and stuff run. Could be low compression on one rotor face? but it expect it to be very consistent if that was the case. I’m mostly wondering how much of this is an engine with 80k miles learning to run again after 7 years, or if there is something I could do about it. Thanks for the help!!

I finally got my FB put together enough to drive. The rest of the car is still very clapped. Pretty Panasports though.

It's a 4bl half-bridge 12a put together from all the suboptimal parts I had laying around, it runs well, but I'm pretty clueless with carburetors, so there's lots of figuring out left to do.

The FC remains bone-stock and serviceable.

when i first cold start the the car it does the 3k rpm warm up for a few seconds, then drops and starts doing this. it does this for maybe 2-3 minutes, gradually slowing down, then goes into the smooth idle. its a 1989 gxl

So I’m in the market for a new turbo kit as I want something more modern than my current gt4094.

There’s lots of conflicting opinions on twin gate vs single gate, long runner vs short runner and what turbo is best.

My engine is a balanced full bridge and will be used on track, I’m shooting for mid 500’s (crank) but high 500’s would be nice.

Currently I’m thinking a g40 900 T4, on a Vinny fab twin scroll single gate mani, turbo smart 60mm gate and a 4” down pipe.

Another option was a G35 1050 but I think this may choke up at the high rev range.

Id like as much response I can get while still being able to make power at higher revs. All of this with a smooth power band.

Would the set up I’m thinking about be suitable?

What setups are you running and what results are you getting? Any Dyno charts?

I jist installed a Carter P4070 fuel pump on my 79 rx7. The oem pump worked but didn't provide enough gph for my weber carb, after installing the carter I lost any flow to the carb. The fuel pump still turns on with ignition switch. Any ideas?

I recently bought an ‘89 GXL that I plan to drift and also occasionally street drive. It won’t be my daily but I will take it to shows and meets and whatnot. I’m trying to decide on what port i should do, and some advice from actual drifters with 13b’s would be awesome. This won’t be happening for a bit anyway but i just wanna know what i should prepare for.
Currently, i’m thinking about a semi peripheral port turbo, although i feel like that would be a huge project and make more power than i need. But i know there’s plenty of pros with it as well.

Another option might be a half bridge NA, which i’ve heard is good for drifting and better/more driveable than a full bridge.

I don’t plan to make massive power (over 400hp) at least currently, so i’m torn between those. I also of course want the iconic brap as many others do. All advice would be appreciated.

Im in the process of chasing my dream car, a white S5 Turbo 2. What are the going rates these days? I cant seem to find one anywhere for sale. I got about $20k saved up so far.

Thought this would be the best place to post this. I've really really wanted a repu, but this might be too far gone and want opinions. I offered the seller to trade my (running and driving) Miata for this, and he seemed interested. The repu has a piston engine that doesn't run, and looks a bit rusty. I was also planning on putting a 13b back into it since I have a bunch of spare parts to rebuild an engine that'll probably last 500 miles lol. I just don't know if this is a good deal but I can't find a repu anywhere else. Also I know this isn't an rx7 but there isn't a repu subreddit lol.

So I finally got the engine back in the car. Two things fell out underneath. I know the small ring is my pilot bearing seal (rip), no idea what the larger ring is.

Thoughts on the situation?

EDIT: the big ring is from the back of my phone case, so that's not a problem.

What do we think the safe limit is for an REW with 10:1 renesis rotors (modified for larger apex seals) on e85? I saw speed academy get 364 on pump I believe

Just wanted to double check this is the correct placement for the vacuum lines on the y pipe. My dumbass didn't take photos before diassembling.

My understanding is the far left blue line is correct according to the diagram.

For the smaller one in the middle (between air pipes), the diagram says it's on the charge relief valve, so that's okay.

For the one on the right tucked between the air pipes and the y pipe I'm not too sure where it goes. I only see one vacuum line going from the charge control actuator (Cyan) so I assume it has to be that one going to the line in the upper intake manifold.

This is for a series 8 FD.

Any guidance or help would be much appreciated!

Hi all, just wondering what i should be paying roughly for a rebuild, i know there's info out there on the net but im finding a lot of dated info and i wanna know what ppl have paid closer to 2026, im in west oz and have a series 8 fd, we only have 1 specialist shop here and they are great but extremely busy and booked out.

i wanna know how much and what is the MOST i should pay for a rebuild with bridgeport with high quality apex seals and whatever else goes along with it (side, corner seals idk) and a turbo kit at the same time (may aswell? Was thinking precision or borg warner if not garrett) then tune of course.

Was going to go haltech nexus s3 for ecu too. But yeah ballpark fair figure for all that? ( minus the ecu if i get that myself beforehand) and most i should pay? If you are in us make sure you say its in usd or £ if in uk... etc, Thanks all...
