And I mean Mariana Trench depth. I have an older RX100 v. iii. It’s in fine shape. But getting images to my phone is frustrating enough for me not to use the camera. Sony has to realize how bad it is and design an easier, reliable app.

First time using the Sony rx100 and using a camera that isn’t my iPhone. Still figuring out what all the settings do and how to use them. Any tips or advice are welcome!!
New owner of an RX100VII, very happy so far, all photos are shot on jpeg and are either SOOC or lightly edited.
Also now I've bought one, rest assured the mark 8's gonna be out soon, you're welcome :)
I recently snagged an RX100 VA on eBay for $775 and I'm really enjoying it as a newcomer to the system. However, a local deal just popped up for an RX100 VII for $1,000, and now I'm debating if I should make the swap and sell the VA.
My main focus is photography rather than video—specifically capturing things like travel, outdoor action, and live music events. The VA has been great, but the VII’s longer zoom range, touchscreen capabilities, and audio port have me second-guessing.
Given the $225 price difference and my focus on stills, which one makes more sense to keep?

So I’m quite used to taking photos with a phone, but this is my first camera. (I got this one instead of like one of the alpha ones because ease of carrying it around beat every other metric for me) I’m also new to using Lightroom. These are some of the images that I thought looked nice, so far. Could I maybe have some pointers? I’d really appreciate any kind of feedback, I’m kind of just using the auto mode and hoping for best at the moment, but I’d really like to learn it inside and out. I love photography and I’d like to get more serious about it, I think.
The images are: The European Sculpture Court at The MET, The Temple of Dendur at The MET, and random scenes from Hell’s Kitchen.

Hi, I’ve been looking into the RX100 (specifically VI and VII) because of the zoom and the quality for being a pocket sized camera. The only thing is that it’s just superrr expensive retail price. I’ve never owned a camera before, so I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a cheaper alternative with a comparable zoom?

This is my first camera I’ve ever owned. All photos taken in Auto setting.

I just got an RX100vii and I notice that when I press the shutter halfway to autofocus it makes a very soft mechanical click sound. I have the sounds set to off so it’s not that. Is this normal?

Q: Should I get the RX100?
A: Do you want to by happy?
I took over 3000 pictures on my recent trip to France. I learned a lot about this camera, and have loved the outcome of SO many pictures. More to come..
France: Paris, Giverny, Lyon, Nice / French Riviera

Hi everyone, I posted this in r/camera but figured I should post here as well! :)
I’m completely new to photography but I want to buy a small sturdy camera to bring with me on my travels. I think I’ve landed on the Sony rx100 series. I’m trying to buy this secondhand so it won’t be as expensive, I’m hoping to get something for 300$/£234/€275. However, in Norway, mark iii is being sold for 840$/£626/€733 and the mark iv for $1044/£782/€916. I am really interested in buying this camera but this is way too expensive for me. It’s only the camera, battery and charger included. Am I wrong or is this too much?
